[0:00]Spikeball is an ever-changing sport. The rules we're going to play and explain are what we feel is the best rules. If you have rules that you play at home, feel free to play those as well, but make sure you agree on the rules with the opponents. The main gist of the game is that when the ball hits the bouncy trampoline, possession switches to the other team, who then has three hits to return the ball.
[0:23]Serve happens at 7 feet and you get two chances or one fault on your serve. You can play gentleman serve or not. The ball must be hit with one hand, except when it hits the net and changes possession, you can hit it with two, but not on serve though.
[0:46]A rim is when it clearly hits the plastic on the outside of the set. That's illegal anytime. A pocket is when it hits just inside the rim and it bounces in a weird direction sometimes. That's legal, but not on serve. On serve, it's only legal if you hit the pocket closest to you. It's called a near net. Play is 360 degrees, which means wherever the ball goes, you got to go get it. Play is to 21, win by two. A body is legal off the net and even a second touch, as long as I don't go to the net, my partner does on three. It doesn't even have to be my body. If I hit it at all on its way out, I get another touch. My partner would have to go to net with three still. If your team serves a point and you win the point, switch places with your partner so they serve to the other player on the other team. This can be used to track the score. If you start serving from the right, then you'll always have an even score when you serve from the right, and an odd score when you serve from the left. 2-0.
[1:47]If you want to switch places because the field is uneven or the sun is in your eyes, every five points rotate one spot for sun.
