[0:08]He loves activities, he likes me to get in now. He enjoyed feeding the birds, he loves stick collecting. He's just loved getting involved and doing the activities and having the freedom to run around. My name's Kerry, and I'm here with my son, Ian. I don't think I would have had the confidence to come out to do something like this on my own to be honest with you. But it's been good because I have health problems, it's been good for my health to meet up with other parents. And me learning of activities I could do with him out and about. Hi, I'm Faye, I work for Groundwork Wales on the Valleys Regional Park project, and we're here today at Bringgarry Country Park for our Wellies in the Woods project. The whole point in Wellies in the Woods is getting families outside. The sessions involve lots and lots of outdoor education and play, so you've got children playing in hammocks, we're making bird feeders, we're splashing in the river. We always have a campfire and generally have a really good time outside. And it's all about falling in love with nature because in order to look after our planet, you need a positive relationship with it. We're out all year round, we had all the weathers you can imagine. Um, but when you've got the right gear, it's not so bad. We just have more hot chocolate in the winter anyway, so it's uh, yeah, it's a win-win situation. Kids love it, and probably the parents like it just as much you if not more than the children. My name's Tanya, I'm here with my son Jayden, he's three. He really enjoyed his time coming up here, he's really thrived, he loves being in the woods. He loves the trees and the leaves, he loves everything about it. We come up here, but we would never think to come up here and like really explore in the trees, um, and do the activities that he's done. So no, this is definitely something unique that he he'd have never have done if it had been for this program. It's worth getting involved and doing it because the kids benefit, and it gives you ideas, and it does boost your confidence. If somebody else were to get involved, I would definitely recommend it. I think your kids would absolutely love it.
