Dr Akram Nadwi Rejects Al-Mahdi.

[0:41]Ustadh, regarding Imam Mahdi coming, are these Hadiths authentic? And what is the correct view on this issue? You know, Mahdi in Arabic language means guided. So Abu Bakr Siddiq was Mahdi, Umar was Mahdi, Uthman bin Affan was Mahdi, Ali was Mahdi, Umar bin Aziz was Mahdi. There have been so many people have been Mahdi. The Prophet said, "alaykum bisunnati wa sunnatil Khulafa Rashidin Mahdiyin". You have to follow my Sunnah and Sunnah of Khulafa who are Rashidin Mahdiyin. You know, Abu Bakr Siddiq and Umar, Uthman, Ali, they are Rashidin Mahdi. They are Mahdi. Same way at the end of the day Isa Alaihi Salam will come and he will rule the world. So he's also Mahdi because he's guided. So there are Hadiths in Muslim which indicates that Isa Alaihi Salam is Mahdi. Mahdi to be an independent person, you know, completely, you know, we don't have any sound Hadith for that, neither in Bukhari, not in Muslim, not in Muwatta, but there are some weak Hadith. And it is more strong opinion in Shia Mazhab, Shia school. So I really don't, don't think, you know, coming of somebody independently to be Mahdi. is something very important and there is any proof for that. The Mahdi, the one who is Mahdi is Isa Alaihi Salam, he's the guided one. But people believe that Mahdi is anybody, like, you know, your teacher could be Mahdi. He's guided. Mahdi is just a title, not name of anybody. Mahdi means guided. So there have been so many guided people and there will be more guided people will come in the future. We don't know, but the one mentioned by the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam at the end of the day, he more likely is Isa Alaihi Salam.
