[0:00]Hello, I'm here to talk about my experience at the first ever Hack the Future event that was hosted by the Computer Science Society at Aston University. Uh it was a three-day hackathon that focused on building solutions to real-world problems. Uh it was a really good experience and I'd just like to tell you a bit about what I did there and what I think about it. So I went into the event not really knowing what to expect, but a couple of my friends were there, and so we grouped up. Uh we were a bit late to starting the project. Uh we started about a day late. Uh but we managed to get a lot of stuff done within that short space of time. Uh we built a web application that was designed to help new students navigate Aston University. Uh so it's a web application, and it allows students to sign in, uh they can view all of the buildings, and they can search for different buildings. Uh but not only that, they can actually leave comments on the buildings as well as rate them. Uh so it allows students who are new to the university to be able to see what other students have said about the buildings, uh where to go, uh and what to avoid, etcetera. Uh the application, it was built using React for the front end, Node.js for the back end, and MongoDB for the database. Uh so it was full stack and we built the entire thing from scratch. Uh it was really good and it was a really good experience for me because I'm really interested in web development. Uh I've previously dabbled in it and I'm really passionate about it, and so it was just really nice to be able to apply my skills to something that was actually quite useful. Uh as a team, we did really well and we managed to place in the top five. Uh we got a prize which was really good. Uh and overall, it was a really good experience. Uh it was really fun, and I just like to thank the Computer Science Society for hosting the event. Uh I definitely learned a lot and I can't wait for future events. Thank you.
