[0:00]All right, here we got a 2022 67 power stroke, came in with a check engine light. The computer had this code saying the camshaft was out of time with the crankshaft. At first glance, one might assume the cam timing is correct as the timing marks are still lined up. However, just because the timing marks are lined up does not mean the cam is timed properly. You see the problem here is the Ford engineers with all their infinite wisdom did not install any key way to keep this crank gear from spinning on the crankshaft. And unfortunately, Ford does not give you any timing marks between the gear and the crankshaft. So to line that crank gear back up, first we have to find number one top dead center with a dial indicator through the injector hole. Once you're at top dead center, shine a laser between the center of the crankshaft and the center of the injection pump. Your timing mark should be right on that laser. Here you can see where a tooth and a half off. Now let's go ahead and remove this crank gear and throw it in the toaster oven so it expands a little to make it real easy to put back on. Shoot! Got to give it that hot tig on that thing. All fixed. Not going anywhere now.
