When they pulled a straw out of the turtle's nose, I couldn't watch. Same. That scene stayed with me for a while. It was pretty hard to see. Before that, I honestly thought environmental issues had nothing to do with me. Yeah, when it's just something you hear about on the news, it's easy to tune it out. But after watching it, something felt different. It made the problem feel real. Me too. It made me want to change a few habits. Like what? I've been bringing my own containers to the grocery store. Your own containers? Yeah, instead of using those Styrofoam trays, I ask them to put the food in my container. Do the shop owners mind? I thought they might, but most of them actually liked the idea. Really? That's better than I expected. Yeah, a few even said, "Good for you." One owner told me he wished more people would do that. That actually makes me want to try it too. Go for it. It feels awkward at first, but you get used to it. Still, sometimes I wonder if one person can really make a difference. I've thought about that too. Compared to the waste big companies produce, what can we really change? Maybe not everything. But at least I know I'm wasting less. And that feels like a good start. When you say it like that, it makes sense. And once I started using a tumbler, a couple of my friends did too. I like that. It spreads. Yeah. Small habits catch on.
