[0:00]Hi, so I am back with movie pressure cooker starring Nazifa Tushi, directed by Rahan Rafi and my Bubly. First, I would like to apologize that I could not give the review of the movie in time. It's a bit late. It's not my fault, it's Star Cineplex's fault. The reason for this is that they cut money from my account twice, but they didn't give me the ticket. And they haven't given me the money back yet. I don't know if I'll ever get it back. Who knows? Anyway, after a lot of struggles, I finally got the ticket. Still, I couldn't finish watching the movie. The reason for this is that I had a plan to watch two movies in one day. I cut Pressure Cooker at 2 p.m. and Dum at 5 p.m. I thought, okay, I can easily finish Pressure Cooker and then watch Dum. But the thing is, it's 5 o'clock and the movie Pressure Cooker is not over yet, because this movie is very long. Almost three hours long. It might be seven or eight minutes less than three hours. So, including breaks and the start, it takes about 5 to 10 minutes. All over, almost three and a half hours will be spent on this. So, because of this time, I couldn't watch the movie the first time. Then, I bought tickets again for the second time and watched it. I just watched the last portion. Anyway, now let's talk about the movie Pressure Cooker. Wow! This movie's look and feel made me feel like I watched an international Netflix movie. And the genre of this movie is dark thriller, which is Rahan Rafi's favorite genre, which he can say is his boss. Before that, let me tell you a little bit about the story of the movie. Actually, it is not possible to tell the basic story of this movie like other movie reviews. The reason for this is that there are multiple stories here. This is a unique aspect of this movie, which I will tell you one by one. This type of movie story is called a hyperlink story. This means that many random stories and events happen, and then at one point they connect with each other. There are many such movies worldwide, but in Bangladesh, I think proper hyperlink movies have not been made before. It's the first one. Hollywood classic movie, if I want to give an example, it's Pulp Fiction. It's one of my favorite movies. Although when I watched it for the first time as a child, I didn't understand anything. Later, when I watched it when I was older, this movie became one of my top favorite movies. Okay, then if I give an example from Bollywood, there is a movie called Ludo. You can understand the concept of Ludo, where four characters have four stories that eventually connect. There's also a movie like this in Kolkata, probably named Chaturkon, by Rajkumari, sorry, not Rajkumari, Srijit Mukherjee's movie. I watched it a long time ago. As far as I remember, it's like Chaturkon, so it has four stories. Exactly, this Pressure Cooker is also a hyperlink story. For this, Rahan Rafi deserves hats off that he took such a unique attempt from Bangladesh's perspective. Why I'm giving Rahan Rafi hats off, I'll tell you. Because Rahan Rafi is called Bangladesh's hit machine. Because he has cracked the mindset of Bengalis. What kind of things a random normal Bengali likes to watch. Romance, betrayal, revenge. If you give these kinds of things, Bengalis will readily accept them. And Rahan Rafi exactly knows how to feed a movie to a Bengali by giving what elements. He has made hit movies with big budgets and he has also made hit movies with low budgets. So, instead of playing in that safe zone, Rahan Rafi has done something different this time. He has taken a different story, a different type of story, a different approach to the story, a different type of storytelling. Taking on such a story for a movie is a huge deal. I mean, I'm talking about a theatrical release, that coming to the hall with such a different story to compete is a brave thing. Oh, and on top of that, there is no male lead character. Always, he is labeled as a misogynist by many people, saying that Rahan Rafi is a misogynist. In his movies, women are always shown in a bad light, that women commit misdeeds. In Poran, Mim double-timed. Then, in Surongo, Tama Mirza betrays her husband and has a relationship with someone else. So, in his movies, women's misdeeds are shown like this, so many people, especially girls, are angry with him, saying, "Why does he show women in a bad way, misogynist?"
[3:55]I think so, this time he said, "Okay, wait, I am a misogynist? Then I will make a movie that has no male major character. The major characters are female." I'm not going to say anything specific about the story of this, because there are many stories here, so if I try to tell each one a little bit, then it will seem like I'm giving away the whole movie story. So, I'll just give a basic hint, which was in the teaser trailer. If I can say a small link, it's about a spa center where massages are given. If boys want, girls will give them massages, and some naughty things happen during the massage. So, since naughty things happen, naughty footage will be there, it's normal. This is something everyone should keep in mind when watching any movie. At least, you should watch the teaser trailer before going to watch a movie. Because I had a very bad experience right in front of me the first time I saw it. It was a boy who came to watch the movie with his mother. They didn't even get seats together. The boy sat in front and the mother sat behind. The boy sat one seat away from me. So, after a while, his mother slapped him on the head from behind, saying, "Hey, what kind of movie did you bring me to watch? What kind of movie did you bring me to watch?" So, the thing is, it could be that they came to watch some other movie, or they came with a random plan, just to watch a movie. They couldn't find tickets for other movies, so they randomly chose one and watched Pressure Cooker, and then they were embarrassed. So, that's why I always say that at least before watching a movie, you should have a basic knowledge. What topic of movie I am watching, what subject of movie I am watching, at least that should be known. Otherwise, you will be in such a situation. It turns out that this boy brought his mother, maybe he would bring his father, and they would be in a very embarrassing situation. So, I'm not saying much about the story anymore. Now let's talk about the acting. Nazifa Tushi, wow! She delivered beyond expectations, not just close to expectations, but several times more than my expectations. So amazing! Although I didn't know before that Nazifa Tushi's role would be so big, Nazifa Tushi had more space, and this girl acted so naturally, just outstanding. I didn't even feel like I was watching acting or anything. She completely immersed herself in the character. In this movie, she had two versions. In the same movie, she had two versions. This is in the teaser trailer. In one, she is shown wearing a burqa, a very simple girl-like version. The other version is like a modern girl, the one who gives massages in the spa center. Pink Villa by name, wow, the name is so beautiful, Pink Villa. In this movie, she has two versions, and both versions seemed great to me. When she wears a burqa, it seemed perfect to me. And when she wore a Western dress, it seemed perfect to me. Whatever look she came in, she looked perfect in it. So amazing. For the whole time, she spoke in Noakhali language, I don't know if it's Noakhali or some other regional language. And she spoke so naturally that I felt like she always speaks in that regional language. That's what it seemed like. Okay, now let's talk about Bubly. I was very disappointed that Bubly was not given proper space. I felt very sad about this. And Bubly looked so beautiful throughout the movie, I just kept looking at her. What movie will I watch, what story will I watch? Just kept looking. Okay, I'm going back to the review. Okay, now the person who must be mentioned is Fozlur Rahman Babu. He has acted as a police inspector here, I think, as a high-ranking police officer. Brother, how can it be so perfect, so perfect? It seemed like this person has been working in the police for 25-30 years, and he has spent his life working in the police. That's what his words and actions seemed like. Very, very natural. Every character in the movie, every character, at least most of the characters, showed a gray shade, which I really liked, I liked it very much. In usual Bengali movies, what is shown is that whoever is good is extremely good, and whoever is bad is extremely bad. But it doesn't happen naturally, a person has both good and bad qualities. If I want to say one word about this movie, it's that this movie is a very creative movie. The movie was so good to watch, that in every place, a mark of creativity was found.
[7:42]That was understood from every shot or every frame. It happened that, in the middle of two rooms, there was a small kitchen. Even there, such good footage was taken that I would not have understood it without watching this movie. Just simple, simple places, footage of simple, simple places in Dhaka city. It turns out that under the overbridge, or in Farmgate, or in Karwan Bazar, these types of stuff, these types of places were used for footage, and very simple places also had footage taken and presented so wonderfully that it's beyond words. And if I talk about outdoor good locations, it's probably taken in the Sylhet area. So beautiful, there are mountains in front, there are bullock carts. Such amazing, such good scenes are these. And there are a few special scenes. Those are, I think, conversations in the mustard field. It's shown so beautifully that it's just eye-pleasing, what you call a proper cinematic view. Then, there are many chapters in this movie, which I liked very much. The chapters are divided according to the names of his previous movies, such as Poran the Love, Surongo the Betrayal, then Tufan the Rise, Tandav the Chaos, the final chapter is Pressure Cooker. And this movie gives us the core message that life is random, just random. The same message that Game of Thrones gave us. And in this movie, many wide-angle shots have been seen. I think a special lens was used. I saw people talking about it. It could be. So, because of using that different lens, maybe it gave a different type of movie feel. A different type of cinematic experience, I think. Now let's talk about the background music of this movie. The background music was so amazing. It blended so well with the movie, with the story. In the middle, many songs were used, rap songs were also used. And usually, in international movies, it happens that no song is fully used with time. It is seen that in usual Bengali movies, what happens is, okay, watch the story for some time. After watching the story, now watch the song. Just the song, nothing else. Again, watch the story, watch the song. This thing is not like that in this movie. Songs in the middle of the story, which is what happens in international movies. That's why I said that I got a proper international movie vibe from this movie. Oh, I forgot to mention one thing about BGM. That is, Fozlur Rahman Babu, whenever he came on camera, whenever he came for a few special times, such a beautiful BGM was given, that it created a great vibe. Overall, I loved this movie, but many people might not like its story, since, as I said, the storytelling style of this movie is different, so many might not like this style. Many might not have seen this type of storytelling movie before, so I saw many people talking when I came out that they didn't understand anything that was shown, what ending it gave. The same thing happened to me the first time I watched Pulp Fiction. I didn't understand what was happening, brother, what was happening? I think the target audience of this movie is college, university students, and young audience. Those who watch foreign OTT content, watch movies, especially series, because watching a series is a matter of great patience. And watching this movie is also a matter of patience, because it's very long, three hours long. So, if you watch patiently until the end, then you will get a proper reward. The thing that happens with a series is that you sit for hours after hours, or day after day, or month after month, and watch a series, and finally after three or four months, you get a reward. Ah, what I watched after investing so much time, okay, finally this was the consequence. So, the same thing applies to this movie. So, as I said, those who are used to watching international OTT content, they will like this movie very much. And of course, watching this movie in the cinema hall, I got a different cinematic experience, which I might not have gotten if I watched it on a normal screen at home. Now let's talk about the naming of this movie, which is Pressure Cooker. I think everyone can guess that we are all in a pressure cooker in Dhaka city, kind of. So, there is also a dialogue from Nazifa Tushi that my life is also a pressure cooker, I am in a pressure cooker. Or, it is said that girls' lives are a pressure cooker. I don't remember exactly. And there is a surprise element in this movie, meaning there is a surprise character. I think everyone will know it only after watching the movie. But I think it's already revealed. I saw many people talking about it, and his voice was also given in the teaser trailer. He is a prominent actor, but he was not used in any poster. I think they wanted to keep it a surprise, so I didn't say anything more. Anyway, this was my talk about the movie. Let me know how you liked it if you have seen it. Anyway.
