[0:00]I just overheard someone say this phrase to a supervisor, and the way my jaw hit the floor, they said, I'm not questioning your authority, I'm questioning best practice. Wow, so many autistics process information by getting the small details to understand expectations from the bottom up. But those of us who are language able are often seen as argumentative, when really, we're just trying to understand expectations. So to my autistic friends, let this be your reminder. Needing details to understand a full concept, might just genuinely be how your brain works. It's not a character flaw. And to anyone who supports autistic people, don't mistake curiosity for disrespect. For some, a little extra context can go a long way.
