This show, this show, this just like Attack on Titan, has me no idea, clueless, where this is gonna go. I don't know who I'm room for. I don't know what I'm supposed to be like, which side am I on? I honestly don't know. I'm so conflicted already and we're only on episode five. I'm so intrigued to see where this show goes. It already feels very well written, the story is absolutely fantastic, very unique as well. And I already love the characters. Anyway, I'm dying to press play. I've been dying to press play since I reacted to episode four. So I'm going to stop talking and jump straight into this one. Let's jump into my first time ever reaction to Death Note, episode five.
[1:12]Tactics. So last episode we saw Light come up with that plan on the bus and stuff like that, so and I said that felt like a bad idea. It still does.
[2:24]I'm still confused about all of this. Is is this a new character?
[3:52]Oh, the fact that he's so fucking chill. I was just in a bus jacking. Oh, cool. I had a nice day. No, not really. It's like, jeez.
[5:10]Yeah, we already got a theory based on these two. She was an ex FBI agent. She seems quite intelligent, probably more intelligent than her partner. Um, and the fact that she's already suspect like suspecting Light or saying it wasn't an accident already sort of has like an inkling of doubt going on. If Light continues with his plan, does kill this FBI agent, my guess is that his fiance, the lady we just met, she is going to have a lot of suspicions around her fiance's death. That is my theory. If if it goes that way, I am hoping the the the FBI agent isn't killed because I kind of like him. He seems he seems like it he's just doing his job. I I like I I I will feel bad.
[6:12]Ah, one more question. Um, once the name is written in the book, can it be undone? If I write someone's name in the book and then I'm like, ah, shit, I should have changed my mind. If I scribbled it out, does it does it stop it? Like how does that work? And also, can you kill yourself? Can you write your own name in the book?
[8:29]What? He's telling L the truth?
[11:15]Ah, one question I'm not sure about. He said he's been studying him, so this is this is I'm guessing this is the answer. How did he know that his name Ray? How did he know that the agent Ray was going to be where he was? Like he said, is it just because he was studying him?
[12:59]I think I figured out. I think I figured out. I think it's something we've seen before.
[13:07]Um, he's writing down the names. Now, there's it looked there's like boxes, but there looks like there's something sitting on top of the paper behind. I have a funny feeling that there's two things going on here. The paper behind is Death Note paper, okay? That's my theory. The padding on the top is to stop him from touching the paper, therefore seeing Ryuk, right? Which makes me think one of two things. Either he's going to write those names, see those faces, and him writing in the Death Note and seeing those faces will cause those people to die. Or, um, he's just going to write those names, see those faces, and then some other plan? I don't know. I don't know. But that that's my guess, the first one.

[15:52]So anyone can write a name on the Death Note if they know the face? I thought it was just light to use.
[16:02]Holy shit.
[16:05]So by him seeing the faces, and by him literally seeing the faces and writing it down, he killed that that's crazy.
[16:17]That that's that's crazy. It's I I don't want to use the word, but fucking hell, it's genius. I I've got nothing to say. Yeah, you'd think you'd be able to recognize that voice straight away. That's a bit unusual, but I guess he's only heard it once. But it was Light. I mean, anyway.
[17:11]I my hunch is she is going to be more important to this story than we currently are let to believe now. Um, the way that Ray walked in and she was so into the case immediately just makes me think there's more to that woman than we know at the moment. Um, wow. Wow. Wow. And literally everything's just falling into fucking place for Light's plan. I wonder if L planned for this, cuz L's smart too, so wonder if L plans this. What what's L's rebuttal going to be?
[24:13]I don't trust the guy who walked up. I reckon I reckon we've seen him again.
[24:20]I'm fucking quitting. I'm fucking quitting. If I'm literally there, all these FBI agents whose identity was like kept to secret, all of this stuff like under wraps and somehow the secret fucking team. Imagine you're in this room, right? And there's a hundred of you. And ten of you are the super secret agent team. And all of you fucking die. I'll be like, motherfucker, if they can die, he's going to find out who I am just by fucking Googling my name. I'm there done. I'm done. I'm done. I quit. Here's my fucking papers. I'm going to go work at the coffee shop down the road. Kiss my ass on the way out. No chance.
[25:45]It makes a lot of sense. It makes a lot of sense, but at the same time, it is fucking risky. It is so risky. It is so risky. So L, I love how they both plan for the other one's actions, like they both they all the time. So we know L, um, damn, let me just get my brain in order for a second. So, L is first of all, do we know L's name? I don't think we do. Which means even if Light sees L's face, there's no name to that yet. Yet, anyway. I don't know if anyone knows L's name. Unless L's name is just L, just write L in the book, then L dies, like, imagine. This whole time, just it was just L. That's what I mean. So you don't technically know L's name, right? Yet. But now L has realized that to get close to Light, to figure out who Light is, they need to get close in general. And Light L is predicting that Light is probably going to um, figure out that L has revealed that L has revealed his face to multiple people.
[26:56]And then, uh that will cause Light to move in to try and figure out who L is. The thing is, I feel like Light's getting distracted thinking that L could be the only one who can figure it him out or like who he is and catch him. He's so focused on this one human, he's forgetting the fact that other people are still investigating him and other people can still figure out. And even if he does get L, what about other people involved? Um, so this now means that they are both going to be at risk, but they are both hoping that their risk isn't enough, like that like for the other one to get the upper hand. Essentially, we had this big bubble, where they're quite far away from each other. And they're getting closer and closer to each other. And each time they do, they're both putting themselves at risk of getting caught by the other one. Someone said it's a perfect cat and mouse scenario where both of them are the cat and the mouse, and that is a perfect description of what's going on right now. It is is amazing how much they're putting each other at risk, how much they're trying to understand and get the upper hand on each other. How many times they got these intricate plans working out, failing, all sorts of stuff. It really is just incredible to like watch it all unfold, watch all these plans intertwined. It's just awesome. It's done so well, it's very enjoyable and it is fantastic. Like it just it just gets your mind going. It's it's like I'm watching a mystery show. It's incredible. And like I said, the pacing is one of the things I love about it so much because the pacing is just fantastic. I'm really interested now. So we got the fiance involved. We got this new team. We got uh uh Light's father. I'm interested what happens there is the girlfriend, the girl that Light went on a date with, gonna come back, maybe, maybe not. Interesting. And also Light also revealing uh is it Shinigami? Shinigami or something? Uh Light also revealing that they like apples as well. I'm really intrigued to see where this story goes. I am very much enjoying this anime, but I'm just enjoying watching it all unravel. It's so brilliantly done. It is just like an investigation show. It's fantastic. Really, really brilliant story.
