[0:00]So hey guys, today we are going to talk about the top 10 engineering colleges in Mumbai. There were a lot of requests for this video. We have started a series. For those who don't know, I'll tell you that we cover colleges city-wise and state-wise. So in today's video, we will specifically cover the top 10 Mumbai colleges, and I will tell you about all the great colleges that have good placements and good college life. Watch the whole video. We will try to keep the video short and give you as much information as possible. With this, let's start the video. So guys, the first college that comes to mind is IIT Bombay, which many people in Mumbai also know as IIT Powai. It doesn't need an introduction, nor do I need to say anything about it. I'll just give you a few stats. In terms of ranking, it has received 3rd in engineering in NIRF. And if I talk about its establishment, this college was built in 1958. It has a campus area of 550 acres. If I talk about admission, for those who don't know, I'll tell you that you have to clear JEE Advanced, and after that, you get into this college. If I talk about counseling, the admission is done through JoSAA counseling. If I talk about ranking, it has received 3rd in engineering in NIRF, as I told you. The most important thing is placements. Tell me about placements, why are you talking about rankings? Tell me about placements. The highest package is 2.1 Crores (International). If I talk about the total international offers, there were 7 offers, all above 1 Crore. The highest package was 1.68 Crores (Domestic).
[1:35]And if I talk about how many domestic offers there were, there were 5 offers above 1 Crore. I am telling you some of the latest placements that have been published in newspapers etc. They have not been officially updated, so if you search somewhere, you might not find them. If I talk about the average, the average package varies between 18 to 22 lakhs, but sometimes the average package touches 24-25 lakhs. This year's overall average package is said to be 25 lakhs for the 2022 batch. This is unofficial, it might vary slightly. If I talk about the fee structure, the total 1-year fee is 2.85 lakhs, including hostel and mess. And here, many people ask me, "Bhaiya, how do we get scholarships in IIT NITs?" So, a very detailed video has been made. The link will be in the description, or it will be in the I button. Go and watch that video to understand which scholarships you get in IITs NITs and how to get them. It's explained very well. Next college is ICT Mumbai. Now, this college is basically very famous for chemical engineering. You don't get CSIT branches here. It has a campus of 16 acres. It is considered one of the best institutes for chemical engineering. If I talk about admission, admission is through both MHT CET and JEE Mains. Counseling is done through MHT CET. If I talk about ranking, it has received 18th in engineering in NIRF. Let's talk about placements. Its highest package was 17 lakhs, and the average package was 7 lakhs. Here you will say, "Bhaiya, the average package is 7 lakhs." These are chemical-related branches; there are no IT, CS etc., so we don't see as high a package, which is 40-50 lakhs. If it were, the average package would obviously jump. If I talk about the 1-year tuition fee, it's 85,000 for this college. We are talking about tuition fees. Next college is VJTI Mumbai. We have made a detailed review. It will be in the I button or the description. There will definitely be a link in the description, you can go and watch it. This college was built in 1887. It's a very old college. It has a campus of 16 acres. And if I talk about admission, it's through MHT CET. If I talk about counseling, it's through MHT CET counseling. Many students ask, "Bhaiya, can other state candidates take admission in this college?" So, you can give the MHT CET exam, but you can take admission in private colleges.
[3:52]There are many good private colleges, which I will also tell you about in this video, where you can take admission. So this is a con if an outside student is watching. An outside state student will not get admission in VJTI. It is considered one of the best engineering colleges in Mumbai after IIT Bombay. It has received 71st in engineering in NIRF. Let's talk about placements. Its highest package is 44 lakhs per annum. The average package varies between 7.5 to 8 lakhs, which is considered quite decent. If we talk about the CSE average package, it varies between 10 to 12 lakhs. Many big companies come here. It's a very old college, so it has a good name. VJTI is a brand name, so you get quite decent companies in this college. If I talk about the 1-year tuition fee, it's 84,000, which is quite good. Next college is SPIT, Sardar Patel Institute of Technology. There are two colleges here, SPIT and SPCE. We will cover both. If I talk about SPIT, it has a campus of 47 acres. This college was built in 2005.
[4:54]Here, in SPIT, you get branches like Computer Engineering and its related specializations, like AI & ML, Data Science. You also get EXTC branch. If I talk about admission, admission is through MHT CET and JEE Mains. Counseling is through MHT CET. And here, if I talk about NIRF, it has 125th in engineering. If I talk about placements, the highest package was 42 lakhs per annum in 2021. This year's highest package is 30 lakhs, but it's still ongoing. It's possible that a company might come and give a highest package of 40-45 lakhs again. So, placements are still ongoing. If I talk about the average, you get an average package of 12.4 lakhs in this college. You might be thinking why the average package of VJTI is 7-8 lakhs, but SPIT's average package is 12.4 lakhs. This is because VJTI has many branches. SPIT only has three-four branches, and those are Computer Science and EXTC, due to which the average package is quite high. If I talk about the fee, the 1-year fee is 1.7 lakhs. Now let's come to its second campus, SPCE, Sardar Patel College of Engineering. The things you need to keep in mind, I will tell you first. Admission here is through MHT CET and its counseling. Admission is not through JEE Mains. Admission is available through JEE Mains in SPIT. Here, if I talk about courses and branches, you get branches like Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical. There are no Computer Science and IT branches in this college. You will find those in SPIT. The highest package was 12 lakhs, and the average package is 5 to 6 lakhs in Sardar Patel College of Engineering. Next college is KJ Somaiya. It's a very famous college. And it has a campus of 65 acres. You will find it in Mumbai. Obviously, we are covering colleges in Mumbai, so where else will you find it? This option should not even be there. The location, Mumbai, Maharashtra, should not even be there. We will remove it next time. It's taking up unnecessary space. Let's talk about admission. Admission is through JEE Mains and MHT CET. Counseling is through its own institutional counseling. If I talk about NIRF, it has received 197th in engineering. Let's talk about placements. 40 lakhs is the highest package, and the average package is 7.19 lakhs, which is quite decent.
[7:09]If I talk about the 1-year tuition fee, it's 2.8 lakhs for one year. It's a bit expensive, we can say. Next college is DJ Sanghvi. If we talk about DJ Sanghvi, it's a chill college. It's a bit, you know, like Amity. You'll get Amity type vibes. But there are many studious students here too. I am not saying there are no studious students in Amity. This is a very controversial thing I am doing. I should not do it. It has a campus of 3-4 acres. Admission is through MHT CET and JEE Mains, and counseling is through MHT CET. This college was built in 1994. If I talk about NIRF, its NIRF ranking varies between 201-250. Why am I not giving the exact number? Because NIRF doesn't give it. Above 200, NIRF says that you are in this range. It doesn't give an exact NIRF ranking. For those between 200-300. If I talk about placements, the highest package is 28 lakhs per annum. If I talk about the average package, this year's average package is quite good, 9 lakhs. Quite decent. Tuition fees are 2 lakhs for one year, and living expenses are separate. Next college is Thadomal. Full name is Thadomal Shahani College of Engineering. If I talk about this, this college was built in 1983. It has a campus of 6 acres. You will say, "Bhaiya, what will happen in a 6-acre, 10-acre, 16-acre campus?" Look, this is Mumbai. These colleges are in urban areas, and we don't see a very large campus area there. Admission is through MHT CET and JEE Mains, and counseling is through MHT CET. Its NIRF ranking varies between 201-250. Placements are between 14 to 18 lakhs per annum.
[9:12]Sometimes the highest is 14 lakhs, sometimes 18 lakhs. It is very rare to see its highest package go up to 40-50 lakhs. It depends on which company is coming that year. If I talk about the average, its average package is 6 lakhs, which is a decent average package. If I talk about the 1-year tuition fee, it's 1.13 lakhs. Next college. I won't read its name. You guys can see it, because I tried a lot to read its name, but I couldn't understand it. We will call it FRC Rodrigues. If anything is wrong, don't abuse me in the comments. This college was built in 1994. This college is in Navi Mumbai. It has a campus of 7 acres. Admission is through MHT CET and JEE Mains. Counseling is through MHT CET. Are you guys not getting bored?
