[0:00]A whole new way of making high definition three-dimensional digital maps, a new service available at the click of a mouse. Thanks to an Irish-born company, the days of aerial photography are coming to an end. Welcome to the world of stereo photography, a company based in Limerick has invented a revolutionary new way to map the entire globe in high definition. Using state-of-the-art lidar technology, this equipment can digitally map everything in its path, from a road surface to individual trees. And thanks to the latest GPS technology, the cameras also know precisely where they are. With this equipment, we capture about a million points of information per second. And that information can then be used to create very accurate three-dimensional representations of the world. A large fleet of cars carrying the new technology is currently mapping every street and road in America. Stereo photography is providing digital mapping to clients like Google and Apple and other big players in the digital industry. So for a lot of people that are looking for very accurate information, for their mapping needs, they would come to a company like stereo photography. And because the technology allows for such high definition digital maps, it will have a huge benefit to local authorities. This means better road maintenance and planning of infrastructure, and it means the ability to provide more accurate online mapping for consumers. So within the next 18 months, we would expect to have covered about 70 to 80% of the United States. The company's expansion plans also include rolling out the technology across Europe. And with this new technology, the company is expecting to create up to 100 new jobs in its Limerick base over the next three years.
