[0:00]In the last episode a lot of things changed. The new flooring went down, the splashback transformed the kitchen, the LEDs lit up the set, and we built a secret door.

[0:09]But we're not done yet. There's still a lot of details to finish. Paint to roll and one final step before AJ sees his new studio for the very first time. Welcome back to Under Construction.

[0:21]If I come in later in this video, and I come back and I go, oh my God, this is absolutely, as long as I do that, yeah, I'll be happy.

[0:29]If I come back and do this, then you've messed up.

[0:34]We're in week three of the build and we're getting there. I'd say this room is 90% complete.

[0:40]We've got to finish painting these side walls. We need to mount some more light fixtures on this top beam.

[0:46]Another exciting thing has just come through. We've got this lighting fixture, which looks incredible actually. I can't wait to see it on.

[0:54]This is going to be mounted on the wall. So you see how we've got the clock there? On the opposite side right there, we're going to have this. So I can't wait to see this in action.

[1:01]And then we have these little light fixtures to replace the old ones, and they'll go on the wall. So I've got gray and white ones. The gray ones will go on the wall that's not going to be painted gray, and the white ones will go on the gray wall, just to add some contrast right there.

[1:15]So we've got some painting to do. Let's crack on that.

[1:25]Now for the second channel backdrop, I wanted more than just a shelf. It needs to be able to hold props, decor, and still work with electronics.

[1:34]So we built a hidden cable wall behind it. It's a clean way to power lights and keep everything off camera.

[1:39]Wow. These are nice. It's like leather padded around. Oh, I'm excited to power these on. I want these speakers on the shelf.

[1:50]But we've got a limitation, so they connect to each other by this wire, and this is how wide this wire is. So we can try to center it as much as possible.

[1:59]We could have the wire on show on the shelf, but we can do better than that here. We've built out this specific system to hide cables. So we're going to drill a hole through the worktop, and then add this grommet hole, and then the wires will go through there.

[2:11]So we're going to work out a perfect distance for the speakers, get them powered, get them connected.

[2:25]Nice. I also have this swish little accessory, so it's basically a power socket with a wireless charger on top.

[2:35]And then to remove it, Rich, can you demonstrate for me to just move the top bit? That's it. Nice.

[2:41]And the wireless charger slides around in 360, revealing the plug socket, a USB A, and a USB C port, which is pretty swish. So we're going to put that right in the corner there as well.

[2:57]Right, I'm now at the stage of the build where I'm ready to play around with the lighting here. Now, where I'm standing right now, it's pretty nicely lit. Very happy.

[3:04]But in most cases, I have a feeling that they might want more room behind the background, so this island will be pushed forward.

[3:14]Now, when that happens, I'm too close to the light, and it's too high above me, and what that's resulting in is heavy shadows under my eyes, nose, and stuff like that, and I begin to look a bit sinister, and it's not something we want.

[3:29]So the solution is, we're going to get a different type of bracket that has a lot more flexibility. It's got a lot more range in it, and that will allow us to put our lights pretty much anywhere without them being too much of an eyesore.

[3:40]Because as much as this is a film set, I also don't want the lights to take over and, yeah, I don't want them to be too much of an eyesore, really.

[3:56]Okay, that's kind of the kind of flexibility I wanted. It kind of needs to be pushed back a little bit. Putting up the second light now, well, third technically.

[4:04]I've done this one off camera. This one's meant to light the background.

[4:07]And the plug socket here. Nice. All right, let's get the softbox on that. Now for my choice of light diffusion, I've gone for these rectangular light softboxes.

[4:18]These are from Aputure again, and it's called the Light Box 30120. The reason I went for the grid is so I can direct the light in a specific direction.

[4:27]Because that's what a grid helps you do. So the white diffusion sheet behind the grid, the job of that is to diffuse the light and make it a lot more softer so all the shadows aren't as contrasty.

[4:36]And then the grid's job is to direct the light in a certain direction. So that stops kind of the spill of the light. Um, so yeah, I'm just going to put that up on this softbox, and I think we're all good, well, kind of, almost there for all the lighting that we need for that side.

[4:50]For lighting on this build, I'm running a mixture of different fixtures, but they're all from Amaran.

[4:55]One thing I really like is that they all connect to the same app, which means that I can control everything straight from my phone or a tablet. Brightness, color, effect, all in one place.

[5:05]This light here is the Pano 120C, and it's actually a great option if you're buying one of your first proper lights because it comes with a softbox and a grid included.

[5:12]Normally, those are like separate purchases you have to budget in for. So straight away, you've got everything you need to shape and control your light properly without spending extra money.

[5:22]And because it's RGB, you've got full color control too. So I've got a green light on the background right now and a white light.

[5:31]But this just shows you that not only can you sort of light your subjects when you're filming, you can change the color of the background as well, which is something I know AJ is going to really, really like.

[5:40]All right, Rich is going to climb up and start fixing the moon. It does look cool there because of the gray that we already got up there.

[5:48]Yeah, that looks about right. Yeah, yeah, I think you got it spot on straight away. Maybe a bit lower. Yeah, that's nice.

[5:59]I'm also tryling out Amaran's brand new lights from their Ray series. This is the 120C.

[6:05]These brand new Ray lights from Amaran are absolutely nuts. This is the 120C, and look how slim it is. I'm just mind blown at the, like, the profile. It's such a low profile, isn't it?

[6:19]It's just a softbox that makes up the other space of it. Very nice. Nice smart easy fix that to the blinds.

[6:27]These are old blinds. I'm not a fan of them. We're going to replace them with this nice simple solution. These are cuttable blinds I've gotten be in Q. Quite cheap as well. They're like around 25 quid.

[6:44]They were looking really outdated at one point. Now I'm quite happy with that. All right, that wall's done.

[7:16]There we go, and last this side done as well. All right, quick pause on the AJ build there for a second.

[7:21]Now, whilst I build him his incredible new YouTube studio, I want to show you guys my space. Now I spend a lot of time in here editing, and I'm about to upgrade one of the most important things here today. Yeah, do one.

[7:34]So if you haven't guessed it now, I'm going to be upgrading my office chair, and this isn't just an ergonomic chair. This is what they call a dynamic ergonomic chair.

[7:42]And basically, it's designed to support you while you move, not when you just sit still. This is something so unique, I've never seen anything like it before.

[7:54]This is the LiberNovo Omni, and it's just become one of Kickstarter's most funded ergonomic chairs of 2025, pulling in over 10 million dollars from over more than 11,000 backers.

[7:59]And, um, a part of me did think, like, oh, maybe I could put this in AJ's setup, but you know what? No. I'm selfishly going to keep it for myself because I edit a lot from this studio, and I don't have a comfy seat here.

[8:13]If all of a sudden you see that I'm uploading videos more frequently, it just means that I've found a good editing chair. That was surprisingly quick. Only took about 15 minutes to do.

[8:26]Okay, now that the chair is constructed, constructed, I'm going to demonstrate how to set up the perfect ergonomic position. The padding on this chair is so soft, I feel like I'm sitting on a giant marshmallow.

[8:36]I feel like I'm a little bit too high, so I'm just going to adjust my height first. There we go, that feels good. And I'm going to make sure that the armrests are in line with the table so that your elbow can lean on it.

[8:45]And then with the neck rest, bring it a little bit closer to myself. Tilt it. Nice. And then I've also got a footrest down here as well.

[8:51]Yes, it's feeling good. And now, here is the crazy part. This backrest is actually motorized. That's actually called a bionic Flexfit backrest.

[9:03]It literally reshapes itself to your spine so that there is no gap in your lower back. Stick in the lounge here. The Omni Chair's synchro-lock system has 60 joints across four linked mechanisms.

[9:14]And it connects the headrest, backrest, armrests, and seat to move you in real-time, keeping your posture aligned with zero effort. Okay, and this is my favorite all-time feature.

[9:23]So you put it into 160 degrees spine flow mode, and then relax your feet on the footstand. It literally does a spinal stretch for you.

[9:34]Now, after a long time of editing, oh, this really does feel good. Yeah. You see, most chairs support you when you sit still.

[9:44]This supports you while you're actually working. So no matter how I move, it follows me perfectly even after sitting for long periods. I never feel any back or waist soreness.

[9:52]And when you lean back, your head stays level with the screen, and the armrests stay aligned with the desk.

[9:58]And you've got different recline angles depending on how you're working. There's 105 degrees for focus, 120 degrees for everyday use, 135 degrees to relax, and 160 when you really want to lean back.

[10:12]Your body is designed to move, and your chair should too. And if you want to check out LiberNovo Omni for yourself, you can order it directly from their official website. I'll leave the link below.

[10:20]Now, I've been away for a couple of days gearing up towards some future projects I've got going on, and this room has had quite a fun update.

[10:28]So the window has now been blocked off, and we're starting to panel up the walls, because for this room I've decided to go for a quite a nostalgic retro basement type of theme.

[10:38]I'll pop up some reference pictures of what I'm aiming to do in this room. So yeah, first step, we're going to cover all of this.

[10:44]Now, I couldn't quite find the right wood, so we've got this shiplap, but then I'm going to stain it in like a walnut color and that should give it that character that you see from those reference pictures.

[10:56]Okay, Con's not in today. So I'm going to be doing the update. It's been a while since I've seen that actually, a couple weeks at least. Oh my gosh. It is looking great.

[11:06]Shelves looking great. That moon is unbelievable. I feel like I don't remember seeing the moon last time. No way. This is the coolest lighting ever. I'd love to give it a lick.

[11:22]This clock I I can't remember if that was there or not. I feel like I remember hearing about it. It looks great, and the fact that it's just opposite the moon. I mean, that's it. And AJ's a werewolf. That's the only thing I'm worried about is he might just turn into a wolf.

[11:33]This is a classy room right here. I'm liking this. That is a great color. Right now this this seems like the skeleton for what's going to be a very cool chill action room.

[11:43]That's that's what gives me the vibes of. Little little lounge spot there. This is just like the best thing ever. And right across the room we've got the beta office, and I hate to say it, I think I prefer this.

[11:53]I think I think Kon's outdone himself today. This is a more homey vibe. Any any other words, J? No.

[11:59]I like it. You're double headed today. Beta Squad hoodie. Beta Squad thing. I'm actually a traitor.

[12:04]I've got I've got NDL on, and what's very interesting about this is this is all going to be cut out the video because Con wants good retention. So, of course, he wouldn't keep this in. Do you know what my favorite? What? Is the, uh, copyrighted music that's playing in the background.

[12:20]You've done great, but you're not making any money 'cause they're playing gangster's paradise in there. Sure about that. You don't know that. No, no, no. Yes. All right. I I can't wait for him to come back 'cause I can just give him a kiss on the forehead, because this is he's really done a great job here.

[12:37]Yo, what's up? What's up? When we do the reveal, can we just make sure that James isn't there because he's been saying he's going to kiss me on the forehead and stuff? James is a weirdo.

[12:47]Yeah, he he he's going to be allowed near the building. Maybe even he might need security guard. Yeah, yeah, let's let's put that into motion for sure.

[12:56]But, um, yeah, so I'll see you there in a couple of days, yeah? Yeah, yeah. And no James. I'm so glad you're on the same page. All right, cool. As long as as long as he as long as he's not there, then we're good.

[13:06]Right, nice one. All right, see you in a bit. In that, see you. Babe. And with everything finally in place, I think we're ready.

[13:17]Honestly, I have no idea how he's going to react. He's officially moved in day. Yes, I'm excited. I'm nervous, and I've got my stuff. I'm ready to go.

[13:22]Uh, because what happens if I don't like it, then this whole thing's ruined, right? It's awkward for you, awkward for me, it's like, what happens? Like, do we just, what happens if someone doesn't like it? Do we just stare at each other?

[13:31]We'll give him like a, are you a type to, like, pretend, like, it? No, no, no. If I genuinely don't like it, I'll be like, yo, I don't like this. But I know you're work. I will probably like it.

[13:40]There's always that off-chance. Describe how you remember it. All right, boys, when I first received the keys to this place, honestly, it was sad in there.

[13:46]That's that's the description I can give you. It's like your dad left type vibe. That's type vibe I was getting in that room. Like, it was nasty. It looked old. Scary.

[13:54]Like, I don't want to be here by myself right now. And what kind of evil people were in here catching flies? What weirdos?

[14:00]Um, hopefully you removed that. There's some sus activities that happened in certain areas of the carpet. And there was that horrible, horrible, horrible carpet.

[14:09]I don't even know what's under that carpet. Did you look? I did. Yeah, yeah. What was under it? I pulled it all back. Oh, my God.

[14:15]You you'll actually know what's under it if you watch part two of the build. Yeah, I tried to keep everything hidden under under wraps.

[14:20]Well, now you can go back and you can binge on all the videos. Yeah, like like everything there looked sad. Like, it was a bit weird.

[14:27]The vibe I got in there was dodgy, and it and it smelt. I know you guys are not going to get that on camera, but it actually smelt horrible. Worst kitchen I've seen in my life. Horrible, sad kitchen. Very sad.

[14:35]Like a no one cared about the place. What color are the walls? No, they had stains on them. I don't know. I don't know what the real color was. They had stains on the wall, so hopefully it was painted.

[14:47]Because, damn, I don't want to see that terrible wall ever again in my life. Like, I've seen the type of stuff you can pull off. So I'm excited. How do you make a room like that good?

[14:52]I genuinely believe that is an impossible mission for you. So we'll see. AJ, let's go.

[14:59]Oh my God! Oh my God! Wait, there's more rooms! Where's the door that was here?

[15:15]Oh my God! Oh my God! Yeah! Let's go!

[15:30]This is incredible, bro. Oh my God. I've got the moon. You know why? You're a star.

[15:43]Yeah, this is sick. Bro, it's feel bigger. Like, okay, I'm I'm I'm lost for words right now. Like, this place was horrible. Like, sad. How do you turn it so like?

[16:19]Vibey. Yes. So warm. Like, chilling. I'm like I'm like, bro, this is clean. The worktop, I'm seeing it. That's what charging.

[16:30]Con, what is that? Go ahead. Go ahead. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Wait. No. What?

[16:34]Oh my God! Oh my God! Yes! What? This is mad. What? No. What? No. What? No. What?

[16:41]You know what that's for? Yes. That's all my electricity. Yeah. So whenever we're doing like stuff over here, we can just easily plug it. There you go. Bro, it's like Oh my God, hold on a minute. Did it did it just wobble? Did it just wobble? Because it's on wheels, and it's a portable setup.

[16:58]You can move it anywhere. Okay, let me help you move it. This you can move anywhere you want in your setup. And then around here is the cable for it. Yeah. You see all of this? And this? They're all connected to that one cable.

[17:20]So it's nice and easy for you. Everything's just one time. Yeah. That's sick. And it there's so much cable as well. There's so much cable. And then when you want to unhook it and use it for your second channel over here, You can. because look under it, you can put your knees under it. You know what I mean? Chairs, yes. So we can get you a chair. You'll be sitting down, and guess what your background is. Boom. So if you're sitting down, So that light and that shelf is designed for all the, like, the props and the background that you're going to keep putting on. Mad. Oh, so you just put up the background on top. Yeah. Yo, that's That's so sick. That's crazy here.

[17:54]So these, these are just like decorative panels. Yo, this looks sick. And then you see how the speakers are on right now. I I don't remember I don't remember these. These are new speakers. I don't remember. These are brand new speakers. Yeah, brand new speakers. Yeah.

[18:07]What are these speakers for? Oh my God. They look so good as well. Um, I don't know, just just They're Tron. Mad. I just thought you deserve some speakers in here. Bro, I appreciate it. This this light looks so cool. What is this? Just like a regular shaped light. No, I but I I don't have regular lights like this. All right.

[18:20]I'm not used to this. This is new. And oh my God, I just realized he's got crazy lights. Yes. So there's more there. Yes. When you're doing videos with this background, these two lights will light you up here.

[18:39]So when you're doing videos here, You just put this here. These lights are lighting you. And you can just be sat on the high chairs. do do do do do do. But why does this room look so much bigger?

[18:52]It's because we haven't crowded it with stuff. We haven't crowded it with too many desks. Do you know why I did that? Is so you could, uh, invite more people down. So you can you can make videos with loads of people. Yeah. Yo, this is Not just like two or three people. Yo, that's That's crazy here.

[19:04]So these, these are just like decorative panels. Yo, this looks sick. And then you see how the speakers are on right now. I don't I don't remember. I don't remember is this new speakers? I don't remember. These are brand new speakers. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Probably new speakers. Yeah. What are these speakers for? Oh my God. They look so good as well. [19:14]This light looks so cool. What is this? Just like a regular shaped light. No, I but I I don't have regular lights like this. All right. I'm not used to this. This is new. And oh my God, I just realized he's got crazy lights. Yes. So there's more there. Yes.

[19:25]When you're doing videos with this background, these two lights will light you up here. So you move this thing like here. Hang on, you know what? Let me get my tripod so I can put my camera on here.

[19:39]So when you're doing videos here, you just put this here. These lights are lighting you. And you could just be sat on the high chairs. But why does this room look so much bigger?
