Because students say yes to this question out of fear and prestige. Moreover, only a few students react, but we take it for the entire class and get a false sense of success. During his school days, Mahatma Gandhi had this experience. He kept nodding and saying yes, and later he confessed that he was too shy of saying, I did not understand.
