[0:00]NBA players who just suddenly disappeared. Back in 2005, the Lakers took a big risk in the NBA Draft. They picked an 18-year-old kid straight out of high school named Andrew Bynum. He was raw, however, he still had a crazy high ceiling. But despite this, after a few years in the league, something shocking happened. You see, things actually started out great for Bynum. He quickly became a key piece for the Lakers and even helped them win two championships in 2009 and 2010. By 2012, he was an all-star and was averaging over 18 points and 11 rebounds a game. The guy was turning into a monster in the paint, but that 2012 All-star season turned out to be his peak, and everything went downhill fast after that. The thing is, right after that season, the Lakers traded Bynum to the Sixers in a big four-team deal. It was supposed to be a fresh start for him, but Bynum never played a single game for Philly because of knee injuries. But what happened next was even stranger. As it turns out, after the Sixers, Bynum bounced around. He signed with the Cavs, but got suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. Then he was traded to the Bulls, who immediately waived him. After that, the Pacers gave him a shot. However, he only played two games before his knees gave out again. But the real reason for Bynum's downfall wasn't just injuries. What I mean is that, according to former teammate Trevor Ariza, Bynum lost his love for the game after his mom passed away. Mentally, he just wasn't all there anymore, and by 26 years old, Bynum was done with basketball.
