[0:00]Hey guys, Ashley here. Today I'm going to be bringing you my spoiler-free review of They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera.

[0:10]Oh my God, guys, you have to read this book like honestly, read it. It will change your life. It will change your life. It will change your life. If you did not know what They Both Die at the End is about, it basically surrounds two main characters, Mateo and Rufus. And these two boys, you're basically following them on their last day on Earth, their end day. Yes, they're going to die. It is in the title, They Both Die at the End. Literally, literally, you know what you're getting yourself into. Anyway, so in Mateo and Rufus's world that they live in, there's a thing called Death-Cast. And Death-Cast is basically a company that calls you, alerting you around midnight, that you are going to die in the next 24 hours. When, they don't know, how, you don't know.

[0:59]You just know that you're going to die, so basically it's about them on their last end day and they're seeking a friend, so they go to this app called Last Friend where they meet each other and spend their last end day together. Now guys, let me tell you, of course, I love this one. I gave it five out of five stars on Goodreads. Like, it's in the freaking title, They Both Die at the End, so you know, it's inevitable, it's going to happen. I'm not even spoiling it for you because Adam even says himself, they both die at the end, they're going to die. But still, I was so emotional throughout this whole journey. It's such a great story about friendship and just like living your life to the fullest and it's just... I'm going to try to do this review properly without spoiling it, and it's just going to be me going, but you know, deal with it, deal with it. Even though I knew what the ending was leading up to, there is still a tiny percentage of me, 10% that was like, they are going to live. This is going to be a happy story. This is going to... no, no. I mean, I don't even know why I have hope through reading this, but it was so devastating, like rip my heart out, Silvera, rip it out, just rip it out. And of course, as usual, I love these two main characters, they were so different, yet so relatable. The ending itself isn't even like what's sad, it's just like the thing throughout the whole story. You know what's leading up to and you're like, oh my God, this is the last time they're doing this. These people that received these Death-Cast calls, they can go to their own funerals. They have their own funerals in front of family members and friends and they're just present while it's happening because it's just inevitable. You're going to die that day, so you just have to say goodbye and it's horrible. And of course, as usual, Adam Silvera, you know this book has all kinds of diversity, of all kinds, anything, sexual orientation, race, anything. Great, love that about Adam's books. Can you imagine a world where you received a call and Death-Cast just calls you and you're like, hi, are you Ashley? Unfortunately, we're here to inform you that you're going to die today. I would be like, bitch no, I just hang up. That's horrible, and what's even worse, and again, I'm not really spoiling it this much because it's literally on like the first couple pages. Death-Cast has a particular ringtone, so it's not just like any call and you're just going to like get surprised when you pick up, you hear it. So when you hear it, imagine just like in a group of friends and you hear that ringtone and you're like, how eerie would that be? Adam's books, they're always so great. I've read More Happy Than Not, and I love that one, I haven't read History Is All You Left Me. And so that's definitely next on my list, but I need a break from reading him because I just I need to get off the sad train, that's just horrible. Another thing that's great about this book is it is told in multiple POVs. And they're side characters, but Adam finds a way to interweave these side characters where they connect to the main characters, and then you just see how it all connects and you're like so shook. I'm just telling you, please read this, and even with reading this, it just made me sad personally, thinking, oh my gosh, what if this was me? What if I was Mateo and Rufus? What would I do on my last day? What's going to happen? How was it going to happen? I was on edge, me reading it, I was like, no. The whole time you're just like, how's it going to happen, how are they going to die? You just don't know, they don't know, so it's even worse. You meet other people on here who are maybe the people calling, the people that work at Death-Cast, or other people getting that same Death-Cast call. And it's just the overall idea behind the story was genius. I've never read anything like this. I read it. Why parents, don't come home, I'm filming. Anyway, ignore that buzzing sound if you hear my garage. I have never read anything like this and I'm telling you. Also, look at this cover design, genius, because They Both Die at the End, obviously, it's a morbid title. But look, if you look in the clouds, this is a skull. And this is like a Grim Reaper on the bottom, and I just noticed that silhouette. How creative is that? And I was lucky enough to actually receive an Advanced Reader's Copy of this, but it does come out tomorrow, September 5th, so please, please, please go pick it up in stores. You will not regret it. Like I said, I read it in a couple of hours, it is so easy to breeze through. At the end of it, I really cared for these boys. It does not matter how long you've known someone. That does not define a friendship. Through Rufus and Mateo, you can obviously see within just 24 hours, you can bond with someone so incredibly like you've never bonded with someone before. And their friendship is everything and I just, I die for it, literally, I die. Perfect, A+, Adam, A+, A+, A+. Please read this. Please, please, and if you've read it already, message me, hit me up. DM me on Twitter, do something, comment below. I have so many feelings and I just need to discuss. All right, thank you guys. That has been my non-spoilery review of They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera. Sorry it was ranty and just me going like, gush, gush, gush, gush.
