[0:00]Hello everyone. Today I'm going to show you how to jailbreak your PS3 to custom firmware. Um, I'll leave the compatibility for custom firmware on the screen now.
[0:13]And the first step that you want to do is you want to go to system settings. You want to make sure that automatic update is off.
[0:21]Then go down to system information and check that you're on the latest firmware. If not, go up to your system update and update via the internet.
[0:36]Okay, so once you've done that, you're going to head over to the internet browser. Now press start and we're going to type in www. p s three tool set.com.
[1:00]Okay, once it's loaded, you'll see at the top right, it says please wait. Just give it time.
[1:11]Sometimes this will not work on the first attempt, so if not, just back out and try again. But it's worked for me first time.
[1:22]Okay, so what we're going to do is we're going to hit select, add to bookmarks.
[1:30]For some unknown reason, my PS3 crashed. Okay, so what we're going to do is we're going to hit select and hit PS3 tool set and just allow it to load.
[1:42]Of course, if it fails, you can just back out and try again.
[1:48]It looks like it's worked. So we're going to hit okay and we're going to hit system manager. And if you have a PS3 slim, you're looking for this to have a tick.
[2:00]Which I have a tick on mine, so we can get custom firmware. So now let's go ahead and set the USB up.
[2:10]Okay, so now we move on to the USB setup of this tutorial. You want to download your custom firmware of choice. Mine's going to be Evilnat.
[2:26]All of these are going to be linked in the description below. So first, what you want to do is you want to format your USB to FAT32. Then you are going to go ahead and copy this folder over to your USB.
[2:47]Okay, now that that has copied over to your USB. What you then want to do is you want to go to MD5 checker.
[3:00]Open MD5 checker. And what you want to do is inside of the custom firmware folder. You have an MD5. Now what you want to do is you want to copy this into MD5.
[3:27]Double click, open up the MD5 text file. Copy what is here and paste here. And you're looking for the same, which means that this is an okay file to use.
[3:49]Okay, you can now eject your USB and plug it into the furthest right slot of the USB slot in your PS3.
[3:59]Okay, so once your USB is in your PS3, you're going to hit flash memory. Save flash memory backup and choose your USB and save.
[4:10]It is important to do this as well, because if something goes wrong when you are doing the the jailbreak, then maybe your console will break.
[4:24]By doing this, you have a backup of your flash. And yeah. Nothing may not happen to the console.
[4:33]So now you have this dump file on your USB. You're going to go ahead into your PS3 checker folder and you're going to drag and drop your dump file onto this one.
[4:49]You'll drag and drop your dump here.bat file and just run. And what you're looking for is 155 check. No dangers and no warnings.
[5:04]Save your dump somewhere safe. I'll just leave it on my desktop for now. Also, if it doesn't for some reason load, you want to download Python on the Microsoft Store.
[5:21]Any Python should do. I have installed Python 3.13. So, heading back to the PS3, you want to plug your USB in and you want to go to Flash Memory Patch. Load patch via HTTP.
[5:38]And just allow it to do what it needs to do. Okay, once that has done, press close.
[5:47]Good to Flash Memory Patch and you'll now have the option to apply the loaded patch. Now it will come up with a confirmation warning telling you that it can brick your console.
[6:01]Just accept that. Now we do have the flash backup, so we should be fine. Okay, now once it has done, as you can see it's patch applied successfully.
[6:20]You can just close this. So, exit out of here. Now, we need to turn the console off and turn it back on again.
[6:33]Okay, now we have rebooted. We can now go ahead, good system update by storage media. And as you see, you'll have your evil net update.
[6:45]We can go ahead and accept all of these and install the custom firmware. Just follow the instructions. Just press the PS button to use the controller.
[7:09]It'll start installing. Okay, when it's done, the console will turn off. Just turn the console back on and you'll see Evilnat on the right side of your screen.
[7:24]You will also notice you have package manager. So, if you come across any issues when installing CFW, you can install on safe mode.
[7:37]Which the way to do that is turn your PS3 off and hold the button down until you hear a beep beep and you hear two more beeps. That's when you know that you're in safe mode.
[7:52]And that's when to let go of the power button. Then, when you're in safe mode, you scroll down to system update and choose your USB. Then, when you're in safe mode, go down to system update and press start and select at the same time and that will look for the update.
[8:07]Then you can do the update from there. Then to install Homebrew, you want to put MultiMAN onto your USB. Once completed, just eject your USB.
[8:20]Okay, now once your USB is in your PS3, just go to package manager. Install package files. Go down to standard as it is in the root of our USB. And here you'll find MultiMAN.
[8:37]Just go ahead and install MultiMAN. Then you can close that and open MultiMAN. Now, it may ask you a bunch of questions. Just hit yes and allow MultiMAN to install.
[8:52]MultiMAN has now loaded, which then allows you to use FTP. How you do that is good system information. You want to look at your IP address and type that into your FTP client.
[9:08]So that is the end of the video. I will be sharing more videos on how you can copy games to your hard drive, as well as installing HEN on consoles that cannot run custom firmware. So if this helped, please like and subscribe.
