[0:00]People love to just jump into Power BI and I usually don't recommend this because Power BI is very simple at first, but it actually gets extremely complex as you go on.
[0:11]And most people once they get past the very basics of creating a very simple visualization, do not understand what they're doing.
[0:18]Creating visualizations is the easiest part of using Power BI. Working with the data, understanding how to use it, how to shape it, how to get it to what you need to create the visualizations that are actually useful.
[0:30]It's probably more than 90% of the work to creating a dashboard. And so I don't recommend just jumping into Power BI and trying to figure things out.
[0:36]I really think you should start with the fundamentals, like even Excel and SQL. I would start with those to really understand how data is stored and how to transform that data before you even think about creating data visualizations.
