Walmart Cash 101

[0:00]Couponing at Walmart works a little bit differently compared to other stores. Their reward system is called Walmart Cash, and today I'm going to teach you how to earn it and how to redeem it. Let's go. The major difference between Walmart and other retailers is that they don't offer any digital coupons. Walmart Cash is a rebate system and it's actually powered by a bada. You can find Walmart Cash offers if you go into the Walmart app and you go to accounts and then scroll down to Walmart Cash. Click that arrow on Walmart Cash and then you'll scroll down and find all the offers. So like I said, these aren't coupons, these are rebates, so you're going to get cash back after you check out. It's not going to lower your out of pocket at the register. All right, let's jump in and I'll show you what to do with these offers. One of my favorite things about Walmart Cash is that you can use those offers on clearance items. So let's scan a few things and see what kind of offers we can find. Open up the Walmart app and click the scanner in the top right hand corner. Now we're just going to start scanning items and see if any Walmart cash offers pop up. This item is on clearance for $2.50 and we have a $2 Walmart cash back offer for the Maybelline products. And if you want to use that offer, make sure you go ahead and clip it. Now, they didn't have my shade in that foundation, so I'm going to keep scanning. I did find this Maybelline bronzer that was $2.50 and that was also a part of that same offer. Notice how it says claimed, that means I already have it clipped. We're going to go to checkout. I'm going to pay $2.50 for this. I'm going to show you how to do it. And then I'm going to get $2 in Walmart cash back. Let me show you. Once you get to self checkout, you're just going to scan your items as usual. Once you've scanned everything, click pay. And you'll notice this barcode in the bottom left hand corner of your screen. Open up your camera app and scan that. When you do, it's going to pop up with this screen. It's going to ask you to pay with Walmart Pay or you can continue with cash or card. I just used the Walmart Pay feature and it ended up giving me a digital receipt. Now let's say you forgot to scan that QR code. Let me show you how to submit your receipts for your Walmart cash offers. For my second transaction, I'm going to grab one of these Bloom Prebiotic sodas. There's a rebate offer where I can get 50 cents in Walmart cash back. Make sure you clip that offer and let's head to checkout. So for this transaction, I'm not going to scan that QR code. I'm just going to scan my items and pay as usual. So how am I going to get that cash back if I didn't connect my Walmart account to this transaction? Well, first you need to take that receipt and head to the Walmart app. Go to account and then you're going to go to your purchase history and click view all. Then at the top of your screen, you're going to see this little scanner. Go ahead and click that and we're going to scan our receipt. Once you scan that barcode, it's going to input all your transaction information into the app. This is how you're going to earn that Walmart Cash. There you have it. Our Bloom transaction is updated in our Walmart app. So here are the items that I bought. I spent about $6 and I should be getting $2.50 in Walmart Cash back. The thing about Walmart cash back is that it doesn't always hit your account right away, so you can't usually earn it and then redeem it in the same trip. Sometimes if you're lucky and it hits right away, you can, but in this case, I did not get the Walmart cash back right away. So I'll let you know how long it takes for it to hit my account. Okay, I'm back at Walmart. It's been a few hours and I did get that $2.50 in Walmart Cash back in my account. So now we're going to go back inside and I'm going to show you how to redeem it. For my last transaction, I'm just picking up a few things that I need for dinner tonight. Click pay as usual and then don't forget to scan that QR code. This is how you're going to apply the Walmart Cash that you've earned. You just have to toggle this switch and as you can see, mine got a little glitchy. It wasn't working at first, but I just kept going and it eventually went through. And then you can see that $2.50 was applied to my total. So that is the basics of Walmart Cash.
