[0:06]Hello, my name is Colonel John, one of the three commanders for the Air Force Academy's class of 2024 recognition. On behalf of the Cadet Wing, I want to thank all of our family, friends, staff, and faculty for joining us here today at Falcon Stadium. Cadets, welcome to recognition. It has been a long and arduous journey for you all to reach this point. Before we continue, I want to address the many changes and circumstances that have led us here today. A global pandemic has forced us to make many changes to the recognition ceremony. Unfortunately, we cannot celebrate with the same size and fanfare that we are used to, but that does not mean this ceremony is any less important. Cadets, you have come too far to let these circumstances deter you from your goal. From basic training to the march back, from freshman year to now, you have faced many challenges and obstacles in your path. You have overcome everything thrown your way and have proven that you are worthy to be fourth classmen in the United States Air Force Academy. So now, as a culmination of your year-long struggle, you will face one last challenge, one last trial to test your worth. This challenge will be like no other you have faced before, for you will complete the remainder of this ceremony as a unit. This is a team effort and every single person on this field will depend on one another to finish this ceremony as an entire class. No one is more important than the other, and no one will be left behind. Today, you will learn the importance of teamwork and perseverance, and how to use it to your advantage. So remember these lessons and apply them throughout your entire Air Force career. Cadets, you have earned the right to be here today. Today, you'll join the ranks of past graduating classes and be welcomed into the cadet wing as fourth-class cadets. This is not the finish line, but merely the first step of your journey here at the Air Force Academy. You have three more years to prove that you are worthy to become officers in the world's greatest air force.
