[0:00]This is my soft approach to feminine care and honestly things that I don't feel like people talk about enough.

[0:10]And this just relates to, you know, the time of month, our period, we're feeling more vulnerable, we're feeling more intimate, and we need to take care of ourselves but in a different type of way. And that relates to our aroma, our smell, our actual period and to make sure it doesn't leak as well as things like shaving, nail care, hair and scalp. Because actually being a girl requires many touch points to be cared for. So if this is something that you enjoy, please like and subscribe, we share everything about holistic beauty and lifestyle. So let's jump in because I have a lot to share. Period care. So I have a few essentials. So for most of my life, my periods were irregular and they were really heavy. The combination of that I've always dealt with some sort of leaking, whether it's the day, it's the night, you name it, leaking. I have many embarrassing stories but we'll save that for another day. First, starting off with underwear. This was honestly a game changer. So for the longest time, I used to just wear any underwear I had, put on a pad and like, you know, that's how you normally live until I started trying out period pad underwear. So at the beginning, I didn't understand like what was the purpose because I was like, I'm not just going to wear an underwear and have my, you know, period just sit in there all day, it's gross. But actually how I use these period underwear is actually with a pad and this is just extra insurance that nothing comes out, especially on the days that you're super heavy or during the night. There's actually a bunch of different brands, but the ones that I've used is from salt and nix. First of all, you want to look for materials when you're on your period. You definitely want 100% cotton because cotton makes it breathable, it absorbs moisture and it also helps to reduce the odor that's going on down there. And on top of that, during the week of and before your touch receptors are actually heightened. So therefore, you know, it has to be soft, it has to be light, it has to be breathable, but it has to like absorb. I have these two cotton ones, one in black, one in pink. These are in more of a standard kind of underwear shape. But then if you flip it over, it's got that gusset and gusset is what absorbs the extra period or leakage. That's kind of baked into the underwear, makes it super breathable. Honestly, I've never felt so confident. It's life changing when you do this. And then I have one that is more of that stretchy thin material. So it kind of depends on you. I personally actually really love this silky material. This is a seamless one. So even if you're wearing like a nice skirt and you don't want the seam to show, this options, guys, options. This one is from Nicks and I love this. This is a boxer short, so you can still wear this to sleep and it looks so cute. It's elastic and so stretchy and you can actually just wear it like that. And the cool thing is they all have different types of absorbency. So this one is four out of five absorbency. So like, for example, if you didn't want to wear a pad and, you know, your periods aren't that heavy, you could literally just wear this on its own. Um, and there's a few different colors. I just love blue. So, it's great. Look at it. It's so stretchy, it's so breathable and light and you can get a good night's rest. I think that is the most important thing. And then this one is the same. It's kind of this like spandex material, but oh my gosh. So it kind of wraps around the buttock a little bit more and has more kind of structure. And I got it in red because red and black hides anything if you need to wash it out. This one is a five out of five absorbency. This whole compartment is that period kind of gusset lining and then you just throw it in the wash, cold water only. I never have to like think about that feeling of it, like potentially leaking out again because honestly, that's like top three of the worst feelings in the world. They are so good. And not just our underwear, but also the perfect pair of glasses. So let me introduce our sponsor for today, Pair Eyewear. Okay guys, this is not just your average eyewear brand, these are fully customizable frames which you can change in and out depending on your style and mood of the day. How it works is step one, you pick your base frame. These are called the Vic and I love them. They're like a chic grandpa style, and I chose them in gold. And most of the frames will come in a bunch of different colors. I also have the Otis, which are the perfect everyday kind of glasses.

[4:56]And you can also pick them depending on your face shape. So there's narrow, medium and wide. Then the second step is so fun, you pick the top frames. And the top frames are the most genius idea because they just attach to the tops of the frame and completely change the look of your original base. And then I also love me a classic tortoise, and they literally stay on. And that's not all gang, because there's also sun tops. So you can instantly go from prescription glasses to sunglasses. And I'm just shocked by how good the quality is on all the frames. I have two different pairs at this point and you'll see there are so many different styles to choose from, you can do an online try on, everything is super easy. And if you use the little QR code or the link below, you can get a little free gift with purchase. And then as soon as I ordered it, these were at my door within a week. So I really hope you also find your perfect pair. So the next thing I actually discovered and found this Luna spray. It's called the Daily Luna and it's the Everywhere Spray to Wipe. And it's essentially you can think of it. It's like a hand sanitizer, but for everywhere. It's got thermal water, prebiotics, pH balanced, it hasn't got any alcohol like a hand sanitizer, vitamins and omega three and six, so it's very skin friendly. You can use this on the go, you know, at the gym, under your arms, and especially down there. You know that feeling where it's like your blood is everywhere. It's just not a vibe. When you go to the toilet, you just spray it onto the toilet paper and then you can kind of just sanitize that area. And it has this a light clean smell, it doesn't really smell overbearing, but also a game changer just to kind of like reset down there, freshen it. I love this. I have it in my purse. So I've tried pretty much all pads under the sun, Western, Asian, and I have to say, the Japanese pads, like the Asian pads are the best. Actually quite interesting is because in Asia they had to develop really good pads because most of the population uses pads. They don't use things like cups or tampons and that's more of a cultural thing. And that's why I think they just have some of the softest pads and the thing to note. I'm sure all of you know this, but maybe there's a few of you who are just starting out your period. There's different lengths for different times of your period. So the longer and thicker it is, better for night, right? This Japanese one I always use for overnight because it's 30 centimeters and it's got wings. Going back to the period underwear, why it's so important to pick the right underwear is also because if you put a thick pad on a thin underwear, it moves everywhere. It just doesn't have the structure to hold the pad in place and then that leads to leaking. So these night pads, you need to have a very structured like soft period underwear like that. So I will double this up if I feel like I have to. And then they also have like liners and stuff. So these are normally pretty short and thin. And then there's this other one that I also got. This is 23 centimeters and personally I feel like 23 centimeters is a good daily like when you're light to medium flow. And it's also got wings. I honestly have to have wings. It's just that insurance that I need mentally. Like I've tried. I think I'm traumatized by pads with no wings cause it scrunches up and bunches up. There's some scented ones, I personally don't like scented ones because it kind of mixes with the aroma of everything and I'm like, no, I don't need that. And the thing I noticed is that it's also very light, it's flexible, but it stores a lot. So that's why I love these kind of like Japanese ones. I'm sure other Asian ones are good, but these are just the ones that I use. And don't cheap out on it because good pads are totally worth it. Also just a quick kind of like tip. I've realized if you're super heavy, you need to change your pad every like two, three hours at most. If you're pretty normal, like anywhere between like five to six hours is also fine and then I'll just kind of use the little spray in between. Don't know if that helped anyone, but thought I would share because this is the type of stuff I wish I knew back in the day. So quick story, I used to get gel nails all the time. And then I started doing it myself at home and I got these like gel nail polishes with the little UV lamp to, you know, save money.

[9:30]And it worked out for a while and then I developed a major reaction to it. My finger cuticles started peeling, they were puffing up and super, super itchy. I actually asked you guys on like IG if you also experience this. I think it happens to quite a lot of people. It's some of the chemicals that they use in these kind of like Amazon, China branded gel nail polishes that some people are just very reactive to me. And then I even went so far as to get like a Hema free version because I was looking it up and apparently there's like versions that don't use specific ingredients, which could cause the irritation, so I got that.

[10:10]And it still made my fingers blow up like a balloon. That has actually started my whole journey on finding very gentle nail and cuticle care products. What I've been obsessed with is press ons as a solution. And I'm actually wearing them now. They're super cute. You can get the designs, which would normally cost you like more than $150 to get these designs. But these are around $20 to $25 and you just press them on. You adhere them with a nail glue like this and then they last for at least two to three weeks, depending on how, you know, you use your hands. This is so perfect because you can choose the design to match your week or your lifestyle for that kind of month or whatever, if it's a special occasion. And then when you're done with it, you just take it off and it doesn't completely rip the entire surface of your nail off. Of course, there will be, you know, little bits of glue and maybe some minor damage to the surface of the nail, but it's nothing in comparison to like grinding it down at the nail salon with a full on gel. So I know like not everyone has access to these more like kind of Asian brands, which do insane designs by the way. With little diamonties. So these are my favorite. And I got them in New York in Flushing. So, I don't know, not everyone lives here obviously. But in Target what first got me into it was this brand, it's called Olive and June Instant Mani Press-Ons. And a lot of you were asking about my nails in the previous videos where it was like this pink cat eye. This was the one I was using and this legit stayed on for a solid three weeks until, you know, a few of them might have popped off, but then all you do is just glue it back on. And so I carry around this little glue with me like in my bag if that ever happens. But these were perfect. These opened up my eyes to how well made a press on nail can look now. It's completely changed from like 10 years ago when it just looked so unnatural. These fit into my cuticle perfectly, they were easy to apply and they lasted a long time. And then just in terms of nail polish, if you're a nail polish girly, London Town. The texture of this nail polish is beautiful. It's like, it applies on like a gel, but then the more you layer it, maybe like two layers or three layers, it becomes fully opaque, but it's smooth, it doesn't streak and it's perfect. Like I have it in red and brown and some other pinky neutral colors. If you're looking for like really good quality nail polishes, check it out. You know how sometimes your nails are very brittle and they're very thin and they're broken, especially if you've ripped a gel off of it. I found this guy on Yes Style. It's the Mentholatum Hand Veil Rich Nail. Oh my gosh, it reconstructs your nail. It's not a nail polish, it's like a nail builder to kind of like form a broken nail back to normal. And it just creates a nail on top of your nail to let it kind of like form back again. If you have any like divots, if you have scratches in it, if you have lost it, like this was crazy. It formed a smooth, even surface again. Let me know if you want me to do a whole video on nail care because honestly, I have so much like cuticle care and all of that stuff. Segway into body care. This is my favorite hand cream, guys, you have to check this out. It's from Evolve Together in the Havana scent. It is perfect in terms of texture. It doesn't leave the skin greasy, it moisturizes, you can layer it and the scent is absolute perfection. The the one I have is Havana and it reminds me of Santal. But you know, perfume can be very overpowering and hand creams with like too much perfume can be really annoying and nauseating. Actually, this has just the right amount of like intensity and potency of the smell. It's honestly just like perfection in hand cream. I'm like addicted to it, it's everywhere I go. All right, next up, body care. To me, body care is all about deodorant. Okay, so fun fact, if you have dry ear wax, it means you have a gene that your body doesn't produce kind of like odor, like BO, right? But if you have wet ear wax, then you don't have this and you do create body odor. And so I am in the camp of the Asian who has wet ear wax because little did I know until like a couple years ago that like most Asians have dry ear wax and most Europeans have wet. Maybe I was European in my last life, who knows, but I just have that. So anyway, that is why I am very passionate about finding the perfect anti-perspirant. Quick fact, antiperspirant is different to a deodorant. Antiperspirant will help to manage the pores from secreting too much sweat. A deodorant is just a deodorant. It doesn't kind of like help manage sweat and absorb sweat from the pores. So I look for anti-perspirants. This is the soft stone, Dionnatule, smooth dry and silky deodorant. Nothing, nothing has beat this. I've tried all the drugstore brands. They make me smell either like a man or the applicator is too thick, so it's like full on just like coating my arm or it leaves my armpit very like thick and sticky. This one is in a whole other league of its own because one, it already looks way better than all the kind of like American antiperspirants. It's dry and you put it onto your underarms and it's almost invisible. I remember the first time that I used this, I was like, oh my gosh, at the end of the day, even though I was sweating, it almost felt like there was just nothing there. It was airy, fairy, sweet underarms. Good thing about like Japanese products is I find, especially in New York, there's a lot more, they're like importing a lot more Japanese products so it's much easier to find. I'm not sure if that's the case where you're from, but if you're a sweaty girl like me, you have to try this one. I tried the white one. This one is still the best. If you're the girl who has dry ear wax and doesn't smell like anything, but you still wanna, you know, like a deodorant to smell fresh during the day. It's the Evolve Together one. This is in the same scent as the hand cream. It's in Havana. It smells so good. And there's something very satisfying about having like the same family of scent at every kind of touch point. Where your hand cream smells the same, your clothes smell the same, your deodorant smells the same. It's it smells like you, so it's almost forms an identity. Sometimes I'll layer it on or on like winter days where I don't need that much protection, I'll just use this one. And it's just a really elegant deodorant. If you're like in tune with your body enough, you'll notice that on different weeks of your cycle, you will smell a little bit different. At least I have noticed that. So controlling that and managing that, especially leading up to the period and making ourselves feel nice and fresh all the time, very important. Next we have a little bit of scalp care. On the days that we start getting more and more tired, more a little bit lazy because leading up to the period, it's just that kind of time. That's when I'll start showering, washing my hair less because I just want to go to bed. And so scalp care is actually quite important. This is my favorite dry shampoo. It's from Dae's, the Fairy Duster Dry Shampoo. It's just the best smelling one that I've used. And it's also not in an aerosol spray, so it's not going to irritate my scalp. And my tip is just to spray it at least two inches away from the roots so you don't get it clogged into your scalp. So spray on the hair and then work it in. This is my favorite. And then to keep our hair smelling nice on days that we haven't washed our hair. If you're looking for a milky one, it's a milk protein spray that will help kind of restore the shine and the softness of crispy second or third day hair. I love this one. And this is the Japanese one that is a little bit lighter. It's kind of like a watery texture that you can spritz all over as well and it smells really good. And another thing just at the very tip of the root, I haven't been able to stop using these kind of hair mascaras. And they just help with frizz, especially the little baby hairs that fly up. It makes such a huge difference when you tame those down. You instantly look at least like 200% more put together, as though you showered and everything. It hides everything and we have a new one from my favorite brand. Odied on the store. It smells so good as well. So hair care is cool. And something that we mentioned in that Japanese hair care video is that, you know, having your hair smell good is also for, it's not just for yourself, but it's also thinking about others. That is hair care.

[19:17]I'm always haunted by being unprepared with my hairy legs, especially in winter. Um, because I go to acupuncture, right? And the last thing that I want is for an acupuncturist to like lift up the veil and see a forest. And I know they honestly do not care. It's just for me. Recently I found this duo, this hack, which is you carry around or you have in your vicinity a mini razor. Teeny, tiny razor. Look at her and it comes in a plastic case with little breathing holes, so it's not going to develop mold and stuff. But then the problem is, how do you shave, right? Because dry shaving is very painful. And then I remembered I had the Hanni shave pillow in my little skincare kit and I took that out, used it one time and I was like, oh my gosh. This is the combination of heaven. What it is is essentially almost like a moisturizing bar. So it's like it comes in this form. But what you do is you just put it directly onto your dry skin. And it allows you to shave with it. I will say, you have to be very gentle. It still is almost a dry shave, but you're just creating a little bit of kind of like lubricant in between. You do have to be careful, make sure you get it all up in there. And I will say, if your hair is too long, it will be a little bit difficult. Sometimes I'll even get a little paper towel, wet it, wipe away any of the like hairs that are left there. And the cool thing is you don't have to wash this. It's essentially a moisturizing bar, so then you just pat the rest in. Smell is a very subjective thing. I don't like to smell full on perfume, like when it's leading up to my period. I just find it, it's too much. So the first thing is actually these like clothing tags. You put these little clothing tags into your wardrobe and it actually like creates an aroma in your closet which then attaches a little bit to your clothes. So this one is from a brand called APFR. I actually got this in Japan and they have beautiful scents. But the thing is it runs out after maybe like a month. So you do kind of have to switch it in and out again. But I found more. These are also Japanese and it's from a brand called Laundrin. And the cool thing is they're kind of multi-purpose. You can put them in the car, you can put them in your room, like a diffuser. Let me just say, these do not smell like old school Febreze. It's just a subtle scent and they'll walk around and smell really good. And it's not overpowering. So it's easy on the nose. Lastly, I just want to talk about my favorite perfume scents that are also very gentle. This is the Mochi Milk perfume. It's creamy, it smells so soft. It doesn't even necessarily smell like a perfume that you would know you're wearing a perfume. It's got marshmallow and vanilla bean, so yeah, it's very kind of comforting. They wanted to create this kind of family so that everything smells cohesive. And so this is an actual perfume, but they also have those clothing tags. And then they also have laundry detergent and it all smells the same and it smells so good. And then the last kind of discovery is this brand called Ffern. And they create seasonal perfumes that are also gentle and kind of non-toxic. And it's a subscription. So how it works is you sign up for it, you join a waiting list, and then when you're approved for it, they will start sending you seasonal scents. So that means you only get four a year. And they send you a box in this little kit. It also comes with a little like a little scent tag because there's a mini version. And you like the smell of this season, then you can open the little full size that also comes with it and you just keep it. If you spray the little sample and let's say you don't like this season's scent concoction, then you can just send it back and that's it. In here there's also tea, there's a little stone that you can spray the perfume on and then just put this like in the bathroom or around the home and it creates everywhere scent as well. I thought this was cool if you're looking for kind of like an organic perfume and it's very natural. I think these are very like unisex scents as well. Like I can definitely spray this on Thomas and it will smell a little bit muskier, a little bit deeper. Anything on women is a little bit more fresher, it's a little bit more floral. So that is the roundup of all the products and, you know, just as a little reminder, like feminine hygiene and feeling good isn't just about the products. It's really about learning what makes you feel comfortable and confident and like knowing our routines and rituals to kind of like be our best self and these are the things that have helped me. So I'm just kind of sharing it to you. So if you enjoyed it, please like and leave a little comment about if you have any tips or hacks or favorite products and because we'd love to hear what you guys are enjoying as well. But I will see you guys all very soon. Bye.
