[0:00]The Commonwealth is a family of 56 independent countries, representing 2.7 billion people across the globe. Commonwealth Day is observed on the second Monday in March each year by people all over the Commonwealth in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Americas, Europe, and the Pacific. It's a moment to celebrate the strong unity, diversity, and shared values of our Commonwealth family. This year, Commonwealth Day will be marked on the 9th of March with a special service at Westminster Abbey, alongside faith and civic gatherings, cultural events, and flag raising ceremonies around the world. The theme Unlocking opportunities together for a prosperous Commonwealth, highlights how our member countries can work together to tackle today's challenges and create lasting prosperity for all.
