[0:00]Hello everyone. I hope you're having an amazing day. My name is Marta and in this video, I'm going to guide you through Etihad Cabin Crew Open Day. So let's get started. Open Day is a walk-in event for everyone who meets the requirements and wants to join Etihad and be a cabin crew. So you don't need to submit your application, sending your CV before joining. You just need to register and participate in the event. So you will find a link to the website where you can simply register in the description box below this video. If you meet the requirements, if you want to be a cabin crew, fly for Etihad and you already registered, the next step is to craft your perfect CV. This is essential because this one-page document needs to show the recruiter that you are an ideal candidate for a cabin crew position at Etihad Airways. If you need my help crafting your perfect CV, just text me and we are going to tailor the perfect one. Then you need to prepare your documents, prepare your answers, and just elegantly arrive between 9:00 to 5:00 local time. Double check the location, of course, maintain a positive body language and just nail your open day, then assessment day and everything. So the open day is the first day, and if you will be shortlisted, which of course you will be, the next day, there is your assessment day. So prepare for two days. During your open day, you'll meet the recruiters and of course, it's a drop-off event, so you will give the recruiter your CV. And after, the recruiter might ask you some initial questions such as why do you want to become a cabin crew, why do you want to join Etihad, or the recruiter might tell you to pick up the card. I call this activity card activity. The recruiter might tell you, okay, pick up the card, and there will be some random words written on this card, and you will have up to one minute to describe or explain this one word. And it can be very random one, such as music, news, or health, or laptop. Remember that the most important thing here is to just go with the flow, don't overthink and the first thing which comes to your mind and makes sense, just go for it. Because remember that you have up to one minute and the recruiters, they want to see that you are fluent in English, you can manage your time and you can work under pressure. Don't worry and just go with the flow. I suggest you to think about your experiences and don't use a very difficult English, just simple answers and that's it. And also you need to stick to positive tones. So even if there will be some words such as government or news or politics, just don't go into sensitive topics such as wars, conflicts, religions, something like this. No, just stick to very positive tones to present yourself as a positive person.
[3:36]And when it comes to these initial questions, you really need to prepare your answers in advance to feel more confident and don't get overwhelmed when they ask you a question. And of course, you need to know your airline to answer the question why do you want to join Etihad. So prepare for it and read about Etihad's mission, vision, values, just know your airline. If they ask you, why do you want to become a cabin crew? If they ask you about your experience in customer service, hospitality, about your background, you really need to focus to highlight the essential things they want you to have. Such as customer service orientation, excellent communication skills, excellent English, teamwork, collaboration, flexibility, adaptability, empathy, cultural sensitivity and stuff. Prepare your answers in advance. Know your airline. Just nail this card activity and initial questions. After, you have your checks, scars, tattoos and hate checks. So prepare for it to show the recruiters your hands. They also will assess your face, your neck, your legs. That's why ladies, wear a skirt. They want you to wear a skirt because they can simply assess if you have any scars and tattoos on your legs. Opt for a skirt rather than a pants. If you will be shortlisted, which of course you will be shortlisted for the next day, which is the assessment day, they will send you an email in the same day at the evening and they will invite you for the assessment day. During the assessment day, you need to confirm your scars, tattoos and hate checks. There is also a group activity and your one-on-one interview with the recruiter. When it comes to group activity, many aspiring cabin crew there are afraid of it because they think they don't have any control, but you have a control. Because what really matters is your behavior towards your colleagues. You will see there's no right or wrong answers, and scenarios are very similar. And it's all about prioritizing some tasks or some people, but as I said, there's no right or wrong answer. So I'm sure you're going to manage. The most important thing is to show the recruiters your behavior towards your colleagues. You really need to show the recruiters that you are a team player, that you respect your colleagues, that you contribute to finding a solution. You just need to find this balance. You can't dominate the conversation, but you also can't be too shy. It's all about interactions, about finding balance and about this body language. Smile a lot, be kind to your colleague. Don't interrupt when someone is talking. Also, you need to know that you can't vote. This is group discussion. They want to see interactions. So remember about it. Be positive, be very kind, be professional during this group discussion. This is what really matters. If you want to start speaking, but someone else is speaking, trying to overshadow everyone else. Raise your hand, raise your hand, and you'll show the respect towards someone who is talking, right? But also you will show the recruiters and to your colleagues that you really want to participate, but you don't want to interrupt and you show the good manners, right? You will manage the group discussion, and if you are going to present your group's decisions, you really need to present on behalf of your group, not on behalf of yourself. If you are going to present, don't tell in front of everyone I fought, I came up on the idea, I decided, no, because it's group discussion. Talk about after discussion, you all agreed that. So present on behalf of the group. When it comes to your final interview, the recruiter might ask you three, four questions, and again, it can be, why do you want to join Etihad? Why do you want to become a cabin crew? Have you ever had conflict with your co-worker or supervisor, or describe yourself in three words? As I mentioned at the beginning, it's very important to prepare in advance to feel more confident, more comfortable, don't get overwhelmed. Just know the structure, know what to highlight. So remember your experience in customer service and hospitality is highly valued. Your skills that they require you to have and also your enthusiasm about joining Etihad and being a part of a cabin crew team. As I mentioned at the beginning, know your airline. Be very positive. Dress elegantly, because how you present yourself, it speaks a lot. You can only do this first impression once. Ladies, opt for pink/purple lipstick to show the recruiter that you already know the airline image standards and also full makeup, appropriate length of your skirt. Tie your hair back. Wear high heels. Jens, you can leave your facial hair, but trim your facial hair and make sure your facial hair is well maintained. I strongly encourage you to join Etihad Cabin Crew Open Days.
