[0:00]I spent a long time testing the best method to take down the vaporizer and I've found some pretty interesting things that you can do to make taking this down a little bit easier. If you want the fastest literal method, then a couple wolf packs will do the trick. Trouble is, this thing will open a shield if you throw a wolf pack at it. No problem. We can throw literally anything else to bait the vaporizer into opening its shield and then wait for it to disappear. It'll then be on cool down for a short time and we can then throw the wolf pack at it. The good thing is we don't need to throw anything directly at the vaporizer, just kind of have it go near it and that will be enough to scare the vaporizer into opening its shield. So, the crude explosive is definitely the best. If you didn't know, you can throw crude explosives and they only take six chemicals to craft. Now, you may be wondering, why not craft a light impact grenade? That's three chemicals and two plastic parts. So technically, that's even less requirements and it might even do a bit of damage. And, well, you know, it is cheaper to craft, but it only stacks up to five, whereas the crude explosives stack up to 10. So for one inventory space, you can have 10 of these ready to throw at any time to bait out the vaporizer, and you're definitely going to want a bunch of these to use. So pretty simple, if you want the absolute fastest way, just throw a crude explosive at the vaporizer, wait for the shield to go down, and then throw your wolf packs. Job's done. Trouble is, you're going to need to take a lot of these out to get the parts for the project, and, well, not everybody has a bunch of wolf packs sitting around, you know? It's kind of expensive way to take these out. So what about something else? What about the hornet driver? Well, that does work, but not very often. I tested this a lot. And there's some very specific situations that need to be met for you to be able to bring a vaporizer out of the sky with a hornet driver. And trouble is, the hornet driver won't even destroy the vaporizer. If you do get it to hit, it will just come down to the ground and you've got a very short window to jump on top of it. Jupiter, it's core to destroy it. And if you don't manage to do enough damage, it's going to fly back into the air and if you're on top, it will tip you off of it in a very dangerous fashion. And unless you're lucky like me and managed to grab a piece of the broken vaporizer as it's falling out of the sky to save yourself, then you're just going to hit the ground and die. So it's a very dangerous thing to do and very hard to get right. If you really want to give it a try, firstly, you need to be within 30 meters of the vaporizer. Secondly, it needs to hit the back thrusters. If it gets too close to the vaporizer, it's going to open up its shield and delete the hornet driver. The hornet driver needs to just whiz past the vaporizer, but not too close, otherwise the shield will destroy it. And this thing moves really quickly, a lot faster than a rocketeer, so trying to line it up and get it perfect is really difficult. So in some very lucky instances, sure, you'll get this to work, but it's not going to happen very often. Luckily though, there are a bunch of hornets flying around this map and you'll probably get your hands on a bunch of hornet drivers, so definitely give it a try if you want to. I was really weird that the Jupiter can seem to one shot the vaporizer once it's on the ground if you aim at the core. I tried that whilst it was flying and didn't have the same results. So keep that in mind, this only seems to work once it's on the ground for some weird reason. Maybe it's because it's already taken a bit of damage already, but don't try jumping on vaporizers and expecting to one shot these things. It doesn't seem to happen whilst they're in the air. Also, snap hooks are kind of a bad idea because you're going to need the photo cloak at all times ready and available. Because at any moment you might have three or more vaporizers on you, rocketeers, fireflies, hornets all at once and the only way to get out of that situation safely is the photo cloak. This is the most important item to bring on any load out in this new map condition. And the photo cloak and stat hook share the same cool down. One stat hook will take 50% of the charge of the photo cloak, which means that if you somehow managed to pull off snap hooking a vaporizer, You might not have much charge left on your photo cloak to get out alive safely. So I would advise against any snap hook shenanigans, unless you're a snap hook superstar, I suppose. I'm sure you could stick a dead line on it if you wanted to. Once again, that's a pretty expensive thing to do though. So, those are the fastest ways. Wolf packs, hornet drivers and dead lines. But they're very expensive or you need to get extremely lucky. So what are the best ways to take it down without spending a bunch of your resources? Well, there are two methods to destroy the vaporizer. You're either going to go for a high damage per shot weapon. I'd recommend the Jupiter. You could even do it with like a renegade or a Pharaoh or an anvil if you're really low on materials. That's just going to take a lot longer. Keep that in mind. The second way is to use a fast fire rate weapon, because doing damage with a fast fire rate weapon seems to have less impact on the vaporizer deciding to put up its shield. If you do a lot of damage very quickly, like a big heavy shot from a Jupiter, it will often put up its shield immediately. If it hasn't just used its shield, that is. Now, if you have something like an equalizer or a tempest or patina, and you keep shooting at it, it doesn't really put up its shield as much. So if you decide to take a heavy hitting weapon like the Jupiter or the Hellcracker or something, this is the best way to do it. Firstly, you really need to find some kind of building to cover to play around. If you're out in the open, you're going to have a bad time. And what you're going to want to do is shoot the underbelly of the vaporizer. This will expose its core. Shooting that will do the most amount of damage you can per shot from the ground. But every time you do this, it's going to put the shield up. So you're going to need to shoot it once and then wait for the shield to go away again and then shoot and rinse and repeat. Now, you may be wondering, why not focus on the thrusters? If you take out a few thrusters, surely it will come crashing out of the sky, like the rocketeer. And sure, that is an option, but I've tried pretty much every weapon I can think of, the Hellcracker, the Patina, the Jupiter, the Equalizer, and I've tried even the Afellion actually. I tried to focus on the thrusters to destroy enough of the thrusters to knock it out of the sky. I found that it was just not a very efficient method. Firstly, this thing has eight thrusters, not four. So you're going to need to break off four of those to knock it out of the sky. I've also found that knocking off the front thrusters doesn't really seem to do much. You kind of need to knock off the back thrusters to have a chance of it flying down and hitting the ground and exploding. That's really hard to do because it's flying erratically all over the place and you're only really going to have a chance to do that if it's going off and fighting somebody else. And even then it takes so many shots and so much damage to destroy the thrusters that I just found that this wasn't an efficient way to take it down at all. If someone has some secret method to do this more efficiently, then I'd love to know, but it did not work for me whatsoever. So yeah, if you've got a heavy hitting weapon, definitely just keep aiming for the underbelly and the core as much as you can to do as much possible damage per shot. If you've got a fast fire rate weapon, ideally an equalizer, or maybe a patina or a tempest, the same strategy applies at the beginning. You're going to want to knock off that underbelly to expose its core, and then you're going to want to keep shooting it in this spot to do as much damage as possible. If you're using a fast fire rate weapon that doesn't do a lot of damage all at once, then it's not going to put up its shield as much, which means it's going to be spending more time shooting you and damaging you, which can be a little bit of an issue. The best way I've found to deal with this is to essentially deal damage to the underbelly and the center of mass. And as soon as it's about to start its attack, throw a crude explosive at it to trigger the shield. This will then immediately stop it from attacking you and you can use that time to then reposition and get in an angle to shoot it again once the shield goes down. You can use the crude explosive trick in combination with photo cloak usage to reduce the amount of damage that you can take from this thing and try to avoid its shots as much as humanly possible. I've found the traditional strategy of sitting in a building and trying to get an angle on it just doesn't work well. It will just keep laser beaming inside and deal damage on you. So instead, I find it better to sort of circle around like a rooftop or some kind of building that has a lot of cover and just keep baiting it with the photo cloak and the crude explosives and dealing chip damage here and there. This has been the most effective way to take it down quickly without taking too much damage, because this thing can kill you very quickly if you end up standing in its laser beam, so I'd really watch out for that. A couple of other tips, it has these two little stabilizers on the side that you can actually shoot to knock off. No idea what that does. I feel like it's not quite as fast and fluid moving through the air, once you knock these two off, which does make the fight a little bit easier. But that might just be a placebo effect. I need to do more testing here. Overall, those are the two best methods. You either go for the heavy hitter method where you basically just time your shots in between the shield usage of the arc, or you do a fast fire rate weapon. And in that case, you need to be able to bait out the attack with the photo cloak, reposition, shoot it, and then bait out the shield with the crude explosive to reposition and shoot it as well. Bear in mind that a lot of other people will be shooting these things at the same time as you. So for the most part, you can use that to your advantage. If you're taking too much heavy fire from one of these things, you might just want to try and sneak out of the way of its line of sight and wait for someone else to bait its attention. And then you might be able to get a better angle on it. Hopefully, this will help you take out the vaporizers. I would honestly suggest bringing in the legendary weapons. It's really going to help you out a lot. The Patina can be good, but it is quite a ammo hog, and whilst the Tempest, Renegade and Osprey are quite nice as well, you're going to need to be able to shoot the core as much as possible, because the moderate arc armor penetration is going to struggle against the heavy armor on the bottom of the arc. If you've had any success with the vaporizer with any other methods, then let me know in the comments. I'm sure everybody would love to hear them. Thanks for watching and I'll see you all in the comments.
