[0:00]Most men train their core thinking about one thing, six-pack, front of the stomach. But here's what nobody talks about, the muscles on the sides of your core, your obliques, are the ones that actually change the shape of your entire body. They create a natural taper at your waist, that narrowing makes your shoulders look wider, your chest look bigger, your whole upper body look more powerful without adding a single inch. When someone looks at a man and thinks, that guy looks built, half the time it's not the muscles, it's the shape, and the shape comes from here. There are a few movements that really build obliques, but the one I want you to start with is the side cycle crunch. Lie on your side, bottom arm out in front for stability, top hand behind your head. Now keep your hips completely still and bring your elbow down toward your knee as your knee comes up to meet it. That crunch at the top, that's the oblique fully contracting. Slow and controlled every single rep, you'll feel exactly where your obliques are after the first set.
