[0:02]So, my biggest tip for working remotely is to act like it's any other job, like you're commuting to an actual office.
[0:02]So, wake up every morning, have your normal routine as if you were going into an office job.
[0:02]Um, so whether that's, you know, getting up, showering, changing out of your pajamas is very important, have that cup of coffee before you start work, and then settle into your work routine.

[0:02]So I'm here today with Leah Monica. Leah is our director of marketing here at Matrix Group and she's in the office. She's normally from Philly. And we're going to talk about working remotely. Leah, you've made it work for you. What are your tips? So, my biggest tip for working remotely is to act like it's any other job, like you're commuting to an actual office. So, wake up every morning, have your normal routine as if you were going into an office job. Um, so whether that's, you know, getting up, showering, changing out of your pajamas is very important, have that cup of coffee before you start work, and then settle into your work routine. Um, something else I think that is very important is having a dedicated workspace to separate kind of your, you know, home life from your work life. It's very important to have that space that you're working in. So for me, for example, we have a guest room that has my office in it and I'm only ever in that room to work. So, I'm not sitting at my dining room table and I'm not kind of muddling my work life and my home life. Leah, how do you stay connected with the office? Because that's so important to anybody's effectiveness. Absolutely. Um, I think a lot of that has to do with the company culture at the company. Um, but just also, you know, making an effort to stay connected, so keeping up those relationships with the people that you have in the office, so if you have a messaging platform, for example, we use Slack. So, just making sure that you're, you know, having dialogue with your colleagues that isn't always just work related. Um, something that we do at Matrix that's really great too is at the beginning of our check-in calls, um, if they're internal meetings, we normally set aside a little time to all catch up with each other because we have a lot of different, um, people working remotely from lots of different places all over the country. So we kind of created this culture of becoming a family, staying a family, connecting with each other on a personal level, and then diving into business. So setting aside that time and, you know, spending the time to talk to people, as you would if you were around the office, is really important and really helpful. Now, at the end of the day, unless it's pouring rain, you take a walk. Why is that so important? Yes. Um, another thing that's very important is getting out of the house. Um, so at the end of every day, um, I have a a little boy, so I make it a point to take him to the park if I can. And a lot of times I've found that there are a lot of other moms there that are in the same situation, that, um, you know, are trying to get out the end of the day after work with their kids to connect. Um, so he gets some socialization too, some fresh air, and just kind of to be able to leave work behind and then walk back into your home and have your home be your home. Well, I'm glad it's working. It's working well. Thank you. Thanks for watching the Matrix Minute. Don't forget to connect with us on our blog and social media. For more information, go to matrixgroup.net.
