[0:00]Hello, welcome to this video. We're going to talk about today the new features coming with SQL Server 2022. I want to be able to mention some specific topics that really call my attention. And hopefully, you can also have an idea what is coming with the new version of SQL Server. First, I want to mention about something very important, the Microsoft Azure integration. We're going to have the ability to connect SQL Server to the cloud, to the Azure instance, so we can have more features and we can expand the capabilities of a SQL Server. For example, we're going to have the ability to connect to Azure SQL MI, the managed instance. And we're going to be able to connect to the SQL DB, the SQL database over there in Azure. And with this, we can also integrate the active directory authentication with the new version of SQL Server. So with this, we're going to be able to connect everything together, on-prem and also in the cloud. And then the second topic I want to mention is about the new intelligence that is coming with the new version of SQL Server. So with this, we're going to be able to mention a couple of features. For example, the query intelligence. We're going to have the ability to optimize queries automatically. So the system itself is going to detect issues with the queries or potential issues and it's going to optimize the queries by itself so we don't have to do anything. And then we're going to have the ability to enable a feature called the Query Store. So with the Query Store, we can keep track of all the queries, all the changes, and everything. And it's also going to be able to detect issues as well. And it's going to propose a couple of options to fix any issue with our queries. And then the next topic I want to mention is about the security. So we know that every single version of SQL Server, it comes with new features regarding security. But this time, it's very important because we're going to have the ability to integrate the authentication with Azure Active Directory. And also, we're going to be able to protect the data with new features and also always encrypted features, so the data is going to be protected and encrypted. And then we're going to have dynamic data masking. So we can also mask data. So if we have, for example, social security numbers or credit card numbers, we can mask the information so other people cannot see the real values. The next topic I want to mention is about the data virtualization. So with this, we're going to be able to connect to other data sources. For example, Oracle, MongoDB, and we're going to be able to connect and create our data lake in Azure as well. So with this, we can also expand the capabilities of a SQL Server. And then the last thing I want to mention is the availability. So with this, we're going to have the ability to keep the system up and running 24/7. So we're going to have the ability to have an always on availability groups. We can keep the system up and running 24/7. And then we're going to have the ability to have a disaster recovery. So if the system crashes or if we have an issue with the system, we're going to have the ability to do a restore and go back to a specific time. And then we're going to have the ability to have a link to the Azure SQL Managed Instance. So we can also connect all the availability groups and all the disaster recovery solutions to the cloud, to the Azure SQL MI, the managed instance. Hopefully, you have a better idea what is coming with the new version of SQL Server. I just wanted to mention this specific topics that really call my attention. And feel free to let me know if you have any doubt, any question, or you want to expand about any specific topic. Thank you for watching this video.
