[0:05]The world's largest census, census 2027 begins with the start of houselisting and housing census. And there's something new this time. India introduces digital data capture and self- enumeration facility, which makes it more simpler and convenient for you to be a part of it. So, what is self-enumeration? It is a secure web-based facility available in 16 regional languages where you fill in your household details online at your convenience before the enumerator's visit. You use your mobile number and basic credentials to log in, submit your details and receive a unique self-enumeration ID which you share with the enumerator for confirmation. It serves as an additional option alongside the familiar door-to-door process. Leading by example, President Droupadi Murmu becomes the first to self-enumerate, followed by Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister appeals to every citizen to self-enumerate their household details and participate in the census process. The roll out begins across Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Goa, Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Mizoram, Odisha, Sikkim, NDMC and Cantonment Board areas in Delhi with about 55,000 households participating on the very first day. As you share your details, you remain assured, data collected under the Census Act 1948 remains strictly confidential. The census is not just a count. It is a vital tool for governance and the foundation for India's development planning for the next decade. So take part, self enumerate and get counted in census 2027.
