[0:00]If you're going into 2026 hoping this will finally be the year you change, but deep down you're afraid that you might be the same version of yourself again, this video is for you. Every year around this time, people set new goals, new habits, new actions, new routines, but also every year people revert back to their old self. And this used to happen to me all the time. I would set all the goals, make my vision board, and go so hard the beginning of the year to only become my old self and never actually reach any of my goals. And the thing was, it wasn't because I was lazy or undisciplined, and it's not because you are lazy or you're undisciplined, but it's because people try to act different without actually becoming a different person. So that's why I want to talk about in today's video, how to actually shift your identity to become a different person, so next year, you truly live the most unrecognizable, unforgettable life for yourself. Now, I have an entire process that I'm going to go through when it comes to shifting your identity, but I want to first go through a very important piece. Because most people want to change, but they're not actually ready to change. And this happened to me back in 2019. I remember wanting to change. I remember wanting to build my own business, start making my own money. But my identity, my habits, my actions, my thoughts, and my beliefs were not matching the identity of a business owner, because every single day during my downtime, instead of reading books to learn about how to start a business, I would watch Netflix. Instead of posting content on social media, I would be scrolling and watching other people do it. I didn't spend any time being in front of the camera and work on my camera presence, even though I wanted to build a brand, I spent the majority of my time just being insecure and picking myself apart. So the identity of who I wanted to become a real business owner wasn't matching who I was in the past back then. I was basically being the person who was consuming versus creating. So, the first thing that I really want you to ask yourself and what I had to ask myself was, am I actually ready to change? And these are the questions that I went through to actually get to a point to tell myself that like, okay, I'm actually ready to commit and I'm actually ready to do this. Question number one, are you done reverting back to your old identity when things feel hard? True change happens when you choose to take a different action when things are falling apart. So in the midst of you questioning your life choices, are you going to actually get up and go on a walk and go work out? Are you going to get up and create a game plan to actually change or are you going to just pick up your phone and scroll on social media or watch Netflix? Ask yourself, are you actually done reverting back to your old self? Question number two, are you ready to choose new habits and let go of old ones? So once again, if you every single day, you wake up in the morning and you go to Starbucks and you get yourself a frappuccino and a muffin and that's loaded with sugar and then you crash at like 11:00 a.m., but you want to be in the healthiest fittest body. Are you going to wake up every single morning and make your own breakfast in the kitchen? You need to ask yourself this, are you actually ready to choose new habits? Question number three, are you here to actually change your identity or just get an outcome? This was a big thing that I really had to ask myself and I really had to unlearn because a lot of the times we will only do habits, actions and be a new person when we want a goal. But true change happens when you actually become that person regardless of the outcome. So for me, I didn't want to just make my own money. I didn't want to just have a business. I didn't want to just have a husband. I actually wanted to be the person where I was wealthy all the time. I wanted to be the person that felt loved without needing someone else to tell me that, hey, you look beautiful. I wanted to feel that and be that person for myself. So I found that for me, over the course of doing personal development work for close to 10 years now, it's not just about wanting the outcome, but it's also about actually being and becoming that new person. And then last question, which is one of the biggest ones, are you ready to stop entertaining negative thoughts? Negative thoughts will keep you in your old identity. They will keep you in your old life. They will keep you in your old habits. They will disguise themselves to tell you, hey, just be comfortable. You know, do what's familiar to you so that way you feel good. But your negative thoughts, they are going to keep you in your old life and truly, genuinely, if you actually want to change your life, you need to catch your old old thoughts. And you need to tell it that it is done. You are no longer entertaining that, oh, I can't do it, I'm inconsistent, you know, I don't I don't look good enough to be on camera. We are not entertaining that anymore. So, if you answered yes to all of these questions, that you're you're done doing all of these things, congratulations. That means that you're actually ready to change and you're ready to become that new person in 2026. So now I want to get into the fun part, which is actually shifting your identity and what I call like your identity transformation. So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to pull up my iPad and I am going to draw out your identity transformation process. Now, what I actually recommend doing is doing this with me. So if you want to grab a pen, you want to grab a piece of paper, this is going to be the process of you first basically just drawing out your old identity. Because I always say, in order to become a new person, you need to become familiar with who you are right now. So let's do this process together. First things first, what you're going to do is I'm going to draw out a person in the middle. Now this right now, this is going to have like a slight smiley face. This is your old identity. Now you want to write out basically who you are right now. So we're going to write out identity here at the top. Now, your identity is who you live by every single day. This is not who you want to be. This is basically the stories that you tell yourself, the thoughts that you constantly repeat, the actions that you're telling self, telling yourself that make up the version of you right now. So right now, you might be telling yourself that I am inconsistent. You might be the person that always quits. So you want to write down, I always quit. And this is also where it's like, you're doing this without judging yourself because when you're writing down your old identity, you're writing down all of the things that are basically stopping you from becoming your old self. One thing that I had to write down is I am very insecure because I used to always compare myself to other people, so I had to write that down. And honestly, when you're doing this, you're going to have a whole list of things that you're associating yourself with that you don't even realize that you're doing every single day. Because once again, when I did this process, my old identity, like my inner dialogue every day was like, you can't do it, you're not good enough. Like, like it's going to take you years to even make a change in your life. This is the story that is basically creating the life that you have right now. So take the time to write out every single story, dialogue and our thought that you're having. And then after you write out your identity, then we want to get into the second piece that makes up your identity, and these are your thoughts and your beliefs. Now, of course, when you're writing down your identity, you might have different thoughts that you wrote down in that section, but this is where you want to get deeper and you want to write out like the repeating thoughts that you're telling yourself every single day. Because thoughts are basically the language of your life and beliefs are the rules that you live by every single day. So, the the repeated thought that you might be telling yourself is, I don't want to do it. Your thoughts will always support the life that you're building. So if you're trying to do something that's hard and you're telling yourself, oh, I don't really want to do it. I'd rather just sit on the couch and watch Netflix. That is supporting the identity that you're creating for yourself because then you start to tell yourself, oh, this is, you know, too hard, I'm inconsistent, I don't really want to do this, I'm insecure. And that starts to make up who you actually are. But on the flip side, also, if you tell yourself that I'm disciplined and once again, you're supposed to write down your old, your old thoughts right now. But I just want to show you this as an example. If you tell yourself you're disciplined, your life is going to start to show all the reasons why that's actually true for you. But for me, for an example, I didn't say that I was disciplined. I wrote down that, you know, I'm lazy. Those are the thoughts that would go through my mind. And some beliefs I had is, it's really hard to make money. It's also very hard to find love. Some other thoughts for me, especially since I wanted to build a business on social media, social media is too saturated. So as you're doing this, you just want to write down once again, all the thoughts and beliefs that you think is stopping you from creating the life that you want. And sometimes doing this in sections is really going to help. So, if you want to work on your love life, think about all the thoughts and beliefs that are stopping you from actually putting yourself out out there and starting to find love. If you want to make more money, like how I did, write down all the thoughts and beliefs that might be stopping you from actually becoming wealthy, from actually building a business. And then the last piece of this is, you want to write down all of the actions and the habits that your old self is doing that is keeping you consistent with your old identity. So once again, this might be choosing to watch Netflix over reading. Maybe it's constantly texting your ex, even if they've already moved on, but you still haven't moved on yourself. Maybe it's eating junk food when you feel sad or stressed.

[10:48]I know a big thing for me, which some people think it's good, but for me, I just did this so much, was like complaining and gossiping to my friends. It's one thing to like vent to your friends about like a problem that you're having in your life, but if you're doing it so consistently, that ends up actually creating a lot of your life and your identity. And I talked a little bit more about this in this video. So if you haven't watched this, watch it after this video. But after you do this, you're going to have an entire list, basically a blueprint of who you are right now. And who you are right now, once again, is not a match of who you want to be. So if we know who you don't want to be, it's going to be so much easier to not do those things when we write out our new identity and who we want to shift into in 2026. So the second part of this is after you write down your entire old self, your old identity, you want to draw out a new person, a new stick figure and go through this process again. So, for just like the sake of this video, I already drew out the new person. And this is basically who I always wanted to be. All of like the the identity, the inner dialogue, the thoughts, the beliefs, the actions and the habits. So, for an example, my identity now is, I'm always somebody that figures things out. Right? So instead of saying, oh, I just can't do it or like, you know, it's just always so hard for me to like get things done. That's not something that I struggle with anymore. I'm great at making money. That is something that I struggled with a lot, so that is the new identity that I'm just taking on. Even if it's not true right now, if I tell myself I'm I'm great at making money, I'm great at figuring things out, like I'm great at always reaching my goals, that is what I'm actually going to start to see in my life. So you want to start to write out all of the new identity, the inner dialogue, the stories that you want to tell yourself that are going to make up the new identity. Once again, they do not have to be true right now. That's the whole point. You're not your new self right now and that is okay. But you want to write out the new identity. And then all the thoughts and beliefs. I'm so consistent. I'm so grateful for the life that I have right now. I'm so excited to learn. This is a very big one, okay? If you are trying to do something new and different and you don't have knowledge in that area, you need to learn. You need to read books. You need to watch videos. So tell yourself, I'm so excited to learn. Um, some beliefs that I had to instill inside of myself. Posting videos will make me more confident. It's not even about posting videos so I go viral and I build a business. Once again, back then, my old self, but it was just about like posting, just posting a video will make me more confident. And and in posting a video, naturally, I'll build an audience. Anyone can make a lot of money because that is so true. Like, it doesn't matter your past. It doesn't matter what happened, you know, previously in your old job, in your old business, in your old career, or whatever it was. Anybody can actually make a lot of money. And then going into actions and habits. Reading for 30 minutes a day. When I actually made this a habit for myself, not only did I naturally learn so much, it was easy for me. I didn't have any resistance because like I, I didn't associate myself with my old self anymore. I stepped into my new self. 8:00 a.m. gym routine. Every single morning, it wasn't a question of whether I'm going to go work out or not. I was putting workout clothes on and I was leaving to go to the gym. Posting every single day at noon. There isn't a day now that I do not post on social media. Every single day at noon, that is like, literally, disciplined every single day I'll do it. And then like even just like speaking up for my needs. I used to be someone that was such a people pleaser. I would always like push over, um, like my boundaries to please other people, but for now, but now like I will speak up. I will tell somebody, hey, if like this does not align with my habits, my routines, my actions, who I am right now, I will not do it. So you want to write out your whole new identity and do it in this way just because it makes it more fun. Draw out your stick identity. You can even like draw out like your routine, kind of like your schedule of the new version of who you actually want to be in 2026. Now the most important part that really allowed me to change and become a new person every single year was being her and embodying her wholeheartedly, not acting like her. Because it's so easy to put on this hat and act like her just when you want to get the outcome, just when you want to get a result. But truly embodying this new identity, truly shifting and changing your entire life comes by doing and being this person when nobody else is watching. Doing this when you don't even need that outcome, when you're not expecting and getting the result. So for me, it wasn't just to be this person when I'm creating content online. I had to be this person when I was in my kitchen eating dinner. The thoughts that were going in my head. When I was brushing my teeth, getting ready for bed, I had to actually embody this person. It's not enough to just, you know, act like her throughout the day and just like act like her when you're out in in public in front of your friends or going on dates. It's really about like who are you when nobody is watching? And when you can actually be her and embody her and make decisions and choose thoughts and beliefs that actually match the new version of yourself. That is when the shift actually happens. So, when Mini Think, I always love to do is practice micro identities. When you can practice and be her in boring mundane moments, regardless of once again, the outcome, the result that you want, that is when the shift actually happens. You owe it to yourself to actually change next year. 2026, it's not another year that's going to go by where you're going to revert back to your old self. This is the year that you're actually going to make a difference. You're actually going to stick with it and you're going to do so because your old identity, it's no longer here. You don't associate yourself with her anymore. It's not just like, oh, I'm just going to do it tomorrow. You don't even identify yourself with that person anymore. So I'm so excited for 2026. I'm so excited for you. So let me know in the comments one shift that you are going to do starting today to step into your new identity. I love you so much, Bestie. If you haven't watched this video, make sure to watch it next, and until next time, make sure that you stay unforgettable.
