[0:00]Hello, welcome to the second part of the tutorial on creating an EC2 instance and connecting to it securely. In the first part, we completed the process of creating an EC2 instance. In this part, we'll demonstrate how to connect to the EC2 instance securely. From the EC2 dashboard, select instances and choose the instance you want to connect to. In our case, we select Tutorial EC2 instance. The instance state is running. To connect to this instance, click on the connect button. From the next window, choose the SSH client tab. From this tab, there are three important information points. First, the key pair that was created during the instance creation. Second, the public DNS of the instance and the third, the instance username. In the command line, we can see the full command to connect to the instance. Let's open the terminal and connect to the EC2 instance. First, we navigate to the directory where we stored the key pair. In our case, it's the downloads directory. So we change directory to downloads. We need to ensure that our key pair file is not publicly viewable. To do so, we change the permission for the key file by using the command chmod for hundred and the key file name. Once we change the file permission, we are ready to connect to the EC2 instance. We copy the command provided by Amazon and paste it in the terminal and then click enter. We are asked if we are sure to connect to the instance. We type yes and click enter. And there we go. We are securely connected to the EC2 instance. And the terminal prompt has been changed to the public DNS of the instance. We can run some commands to check if the instance is working correctly. For example, we can check the operating system version. We see that it is running Amazon Linux. We can also see the amount of free memory using the command free -h. This concludes the second part of the tutorial on connecting to the EC2 instance securely. Thank you for watching.
