[0:00]Do you know why Moses never actually entered the Promised Land? Yes, did you know that, that Moses, the man that God used to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, through the Red Sea and across the desert for 40 years, never actually entered the Promised Land. Do you know why? And you're thinking, wait a minute, after all of that faithfulness, after all of that obedience, you mean to tell me that Moses died outside of it? Yes, take a look at Deuteronomy chapter 34, verse 4. Here it is. It says, Then the Lord said to Moses, this is the land that I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. When I said, I will give it to your descendants, I've now allowed you to see it with your own eyes, but you will not enter the land. Now, at first it sounds like punishment, because Moses struck the rock in anger instead of speaking to it. But there's something so much deeper going on here that is prophetic, that is pointing to Jesus. And I'm going to show that to you. Take a look at John chapter 1, verse 17. Here it is. It's so beautiful. It says, for the law was given through Moses, but God's unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. The law was given through Moses, but love and faithfulness, and in other interpretations, grace was given through Jesus. Moses represented the law. And the law could never get you into the Promised Land, it could never get you into heaven. Only grace can, only faith in Christ, the one who actually led the people into the Promised Land. If you remember, was Joshua, same name as Yeshua, which means Jesus. In other words, Moses could only bring the Israelites to the border, but Jesus brings us into the Promised Land. And that is the gospel hidden in plain sight, and in every page of scripture, whispering the same story. That it's not by law that we get into heaven, but by love, faithfulness, and God's mercy that we will enter God's promise.
