[0:00]Why did Hitler hate this photo so much? Hitler was obsessed with his image. He'd spend hours practicing speeches in front of mirrors, studying his every move like an actor. His personal photographer, Heinrich Hoffman, took hundreds of photos while Hitler tested poses. Only the photos that made him look strong and powerful were kept, while the rest were destroyed. Although, when Hitler got out of prison in 1925, he knew he had to rebuild his image. So Hoffman suggested Hitler wear traditional Bavarian clothes to look like a man of the people. But when Hitler saw the photos, he got furious. Instead of looking strong, he thought he looked silly and weak. The photos made his skinny legs and awkward posture stand out. Hitler wanted every copy destroyed, but Hoffman secretly kept the negatives. Years later, when the allies captured him, they found the photos Hitler never wanted anyone to see.
