[0:00]Praying versus declaring, versus decreeing. What's the difference? There's a lot of confusion with the body of Christ right now with words like declare it, decree it, speak it into existence. And some people have gone to extremes. So, let's bring this back to scripture. First, prayer. Prayer's a relationship. Prayer is petition. Prayer is submission. Jesus taught us to pray, our Father, your will be done. Prayer isn't commanding God. Prayer is communion with God. It's surrender before its authority. Now, here's where it shifts. Declaring is different from asking. When you declare something biblically, you're proclaiming what God has already said. For example, I am forgiven. I am redeemed. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. That's not manifesting. That's agreement. Declaring is alignment with truth. You're speaking what heaven has already written. Now, decreeing goes one step further. A decree is an authoritative enforcement of what is already legally established. In scripture, kings made decrees because they had jurisdiction. The question becomes, what jurisdiction do believers have? Luke 10:19 says, I give you authority. Authority is delegated power. So when you decree, you're not inventing outcomes, you're enforcing what Christ already purchased. There's a difference between saying God, please break this chain and saying, by the authority of Jesus Christ, this chain is broken. One is petition, the other is enforcement. But here's the danger. You cannot decree what heaven has not authorized. Declarations must be rooted in scripture. Decrees must be aligned with God's will. Otherwise, it becomes human and it dressed up in spiritual language. We don't decree our ego, we decree God's word. We don't declare our fantasies. We declare his promises. When done correctly, prayer invites heaven. Declaration aligns your mouth with truth, and decree enforces spiritual authority. And your voice matters. Proverbs says, life and death are in the power of the tongue. But your voice becomes powerful when it's submitted. Authority flows out of surrender. The prophetic voice is not loudness. It's alignment.
