[0:02]Hi everyone. This is Diana Jones, and today I'm going to show you why Kenya should be your next destination. Most of you might know Kenya for its scenic landscape, wildlife, but what I want to show you today is why you should visit this amazing country. Not only for its beauty, but most importantly, its community. Tourism is a powerful vehicle for economic growth and job creation all over the world, and I've gladly seen how this is a reality in Kenya. Tourism boosts the revenue of the economy, creates thousands of jobs, develops the infrastructure of a country, and plants a sense of cultural exchange between foreigners and citizens. Making this video has made me really happy, so I hope you enjoyed it. My name is Brunson. I'm a driver. I'm Elvis. I'm 35 years old. Uh, and my position, I'm working as a bartender. My name is Reagan Okelo. I'm 36 years old. I'm a restaurant supervisor. My name is Frederick Kazunga Karisa, nicknamed Bravo. My age is 42. I'm working as a a waiter. My name is Emma Dacha. I'm 36 years. I work as an administrative assistant. My name is Marcy Wanjela Nyamawi. I am 21 years old. I work as a guest relation officer. My name is Hamis Benkiti. Uh, I'm 29 years old. Uh, I am a chef de parti. Hi, I'm Fauzia Abubakar. I'm 23 years of age. I work as a waiter. My name is Arnold Kaingu Mlewa. Uh, I'm age between 30 to 35. The thing that makes me so happy in this hospitality industry is how I interact with each guest. I get to know a lot of people from each different country. I enjoy the most when I welcome guests, I talk to them, I give them information about hospitality. I enjoy when they give the comment of our staff, and when they come back again for vacation. We do appreciate. They are so happy with you, to a point they want to know for how long you have been here, how long you have been doing it because you have mastered the art so well. So that what is that is what is making me so happy. What I enjoy most is to interact with the clients from different uh, from different countries. Again, I like people coming back as they appreciate my job, appreciate, appreciate my work. That's I feel so proud. I feel so proud when I see them coming back because I know they appreciate. And I like talking to people. Um, I like uh, when we are busy, it's the challenges. It's so interesting, makes you stronger. I feel like when they are happy during their stay, that's wonderful for my side too. Yes. I explain about Malindi or Kenya, so that the tourists will know about Malindi or Kenya. I always love to see them having a good time. I always enjoy giving the reviews they bring from us. So for me, I always want by the end of my day to have a happy client. That's what I want. Interacting with different cultures, different type of people, getting to know people from different countries. I got the chance to get in the kitchen and I saw the chef working at the art of the kitchen, the teamwork, I loved the food, and it really inspired me. I so I just decided to go back to school to understand the art of cooking, and I find it for me as passion. I've been working in this hospitality since 1993, and uh, I'm still on this hospitality because I love this kind of job. My father was uh, in this industry. So when I grew up, I had that passion because sometimes my father used to come home with uh, friends from Australia, from Germany. For me, choosing hospitality, I just wanted to do something that I love. Lastly, I was able to buy a plot, of which I helped my mom to build her own house. I started a small business for my wife. Like everyone you can meet in hospitality. Even the president, you can meet like that is the most interesting part. You have many destinations that the tourists can come and uh, enjoy. We sustain, they sustain us because we work, we show them and we do what we like. I've I've been able to to save, yeah, to travel. Yeah, at some point I'm whenever my younger brother asks me for something, like I'm able to to help him. They're going to meet different famous people from abroad. Even chance to travel to see other countries. Interacting with each guest from each country, get to know their language. Yeah. I've been meeting different people from all over the countries, some from within, local and international. Like I call, if they want to go to have books, if they want to have dinner, I will just say oh, I'll just pay for you. Uh, to me I can say this job it helps me to my family because I have children. They are learning through my experience and my job. So, hospitality industry brings tourists and uh, we and uh, create jobs, uh, youth gets jobs. To support myself, I get to support uh at home where I'm able to support. You get to connect with the whole world, and the whole world with you. You just have to connect very well, so I always prefer if you ask me for hospitality, I will just tell you yes. I've learned to interact with guests, my confidence and having improved in my confidence. I assist my parents if they need some cash or something of the sort. I also have my own family, I need to provide for my wife and my kid. Yes, and it's all because of hospitality.
[6:48]Each of these individuals are clear examples of passion in great professionals who are making possible the development of their country through the tourism industry. Each of them is making possible the growth of Kenya as a tourism destination. It makes me so proud to have experienced and enjoyed this adventure, and I can say I've not only grown professionally but also personally. I'm very grateful to have contributed and shared knowledge, experience, and culture with my Kenyan colleagues who now I can call friends. The coastal side, the best, you should travel along the coastal side. When I talk with the tourist, because a tourist when comes here, he doesn't know anything. But through my experience, by the way I'm a tour driver. So I explained much. Till right now, and I I'm aiming to be a um, good chef. I think you are already a great chef. Yeah, I can transfer dance, but I don't want to follow the swimming pool. Oh, Kenya is a wonderful place. It's so so beautiful. I'm proud to be a Kenyan.
