[0:00]Yo gang the ancient stay blowing my mind. Let me explain. They believed that the four fundamental elements or the four fundamental forces, fire, water, air and Earth. They believe that they were connected not to physical reality, but also our human psyche, our mind. And according to hermetic teachings and then later also brought up by Carl Jung, he was saying that the four fundamental elements are connected to the four sections of our consciousness. So understanding that will also mean you understand yourself. But I'm going to break it down. So fire representing your will, right? Your inner drive. Your ambition or your ability to take action. Fire is what pushes a person to create or lead or conquer a challenge or initiate something. So now when fire is balanced, it produces confidence and courage. But when it becomes excessive, it produces ego, anger, and fear. So now water represents feeling, emotion, which is in the realm of empathy, intuition and feeling. Water allows humans to connect, to love and to also sense these subtle energies around them. Now, balancing water produces compassion and emotional intelligence. But uncontrolled water leads to mood swings, depression, and emotional instability. Now, air represents the intellect, the mind. Air governs thoughts, logic, language, and ideas. It is the ability to analyze the world and communicate ideas and knowledge. Balancing air produces wisdom and clarity, but too much air creates overthinking, anxiety, and mental chaos. And of course, Earth representing the physical world. It is stability, discipline, structure, and the ability to manifest ideas into the physical realm. So Earth grounds the other elements. Balanced earth creates reliability and strength, but when Earth becomes excessive, it turns to rigidity, materialistic obsession, and stubbornness. And ancient alchemists believe that spiritual mastery doesn't come from ignoring these, but balancing all of them together. Too much fire will burn you, too much water will drown you. Too much air will confuse you, and too much earth will trap you. Now, the goal of the initiate was to bring all four elements into harmony within the psyche. When water, fire, air and Earth is balanced perfectly within a person, within their psyche, that will create the awakened person, the awakened soul. Someone whose will, emotions, thoughts and physical actions all move within alignment. So in other words, the four elements aren't just about nature, but they were a map of human consciousness itself.
