Today our first topic is about Amazon. We will learn what Amazon is and how we can start working on it. Amazon is an e-commerce platform where we open our shop, meaning we open our account, and sell our products. It is just like the shopping malls you see in our country, like Packages Mall and Emporium Mall in Lahore. If you go to Islamabad, there is Centaurus Mall. If you go to Karachi, there are countless malls. So, in those malls, you would have seen many shops and brands. Similarly, Amazon is a mall where many brands sell their products. And when we sell our product with our name, we will also be considered a brand. So, in simple words, the first thing you need to do to work on Amazon is to open a shop on Amazon. In simple words, you have to open an account on Amazon. After opening that account, you will display your products there. Displaying a product is called product listing in Amazon terms. Just like a shop has racks, Amazon has lists. If you want to buy a product, you go to it, click on it, add it to the cart, and then you can buy it and it gets delivered to your home. Now, how to open an account on Amazon? Opening an account on Amazon is easy, in fact, it is very easy. But Amazon has some policies and restrictions that sometimes frustrate you, thinking, 'I have provided everything, but my account is still not active.' The first thing you need to know is what kind of account you want to open when you create an account on Amazon. Just like when you go to a bank, they ask you what kind of bank account you want to open, whether you want to open a current account, a savings account, or other types of accounts. So, you need to know that there are two types of selling plans available on Amazon. Number one, individual selling plan, number two, professional selling plan. Let's first discuss the individual selling plan. If you sign up for an individual selling plan, the first benefit you get is that you don't have to pay any subscription fees that Amazon charges per month. After that, the disadvantage of it is that you cannot sell your brand on an individual selling plan. And Amazon charges you like $0.9 for each sale in addition to FBA fees. So, now let's discuss the second pattern, which is the second selling plan, which we call the professional selling plan. When you sign up for a professional selling plan, you can sell your products under your brand name. Now, when I talk about a professional selling plan, Amazon charges you a fixed subscription fee per month, which is $39.99 in the US. If you exchange the currency, it becomes equivalent to that in any country you sign up in. Now, I want to tell you another interesting thing. When you want to launch your brand, you can launch it in two ways. There are also two types of modes under the professional selling plan: number one, individual, number two, business. I tell you one thing, the individual under the professional plan, you should not confuse it with the individual selling plan. That was a separate one, which we have finished. Now we are discussing the professional selling plan, under which two types of business accounts can be created, two types of accounts can be created: number one is a business account, number two is an individual account. So, if you are going to create an individual account, then what is necessary for you? You should have a computerized CNIC, the chip one. You should have a bank statement. Besides this, you should have an email address, a mobile number, and then you should have debit cards or credit cards of Meezan, Faysal, or many other banks. Amazon accepts credit cards of some banks and debit cards of some. So, whichever bank account you have, when you use it, you will get an idea whether Amazon is accepting it or not. So, we will not go into detail now as to which bank is doing which details because we are just taking an overview. So, the things we needed for an individual account, I have listed them for you. To sign up for an individual account, Amazon will require two more things from you. Okay, like I just told you about debit cards and credit cards. There is a charge method, and there is a deposit method. While signing up for an account, you must give Amazon these two pieces of information. Charge method means that you have to give Amazon such a card, such bank details, from which it can charge money. Which money can it charge? The money it has to take from you monthly. If you do any advertising on Amazon tomorrow, it will take that money. It means that if Amazon has to take any money from you, it will take it from your charge method. Which Meezan's debit card works perfectly, Faysal's works perfectly. From those cards, Amazon will withdraw the money when you sign up for the account. So, it will not deduct money from an individual, sorry, from an individual selling plan, but if you are doing it under an individual professional plan, then it will definitely deduct $39.99 from you. So, you have understood what the charge method is. The second method is the deposit method, that if Amazon has to give you money, the money you have sold, Amazon has to give it to you, then in which account will it give it to you? So, there you have to enter your bank account details. But if you are creating an account from Pakistan, Amazon does not currently allow Pakistan to directly deposit money into your bank. So, for that, you have to add another bank in the center, which we also call virtual banks, like Payoneer, Hyperwallet. You need such sources. First, the money goes into them, Payoneer, then from there it is transferred to your bank account. Now, let's talk about the business professional selling plan. In the business professional selling plan, you have to provide your business details. If you are operating from Pakistan, you should have a private limited company. You have to enter its credentials, provide the charge method, provide the deposit method, and provide your email address, contact number. Then you have to provide a bank statement, and you have to provide all the information in the name of its director. When you provide all the information, Amazon will say, 'Congratulations, your account has been created.' And after that, when this account is created, you will be very happy that our account has been created, but that is not the case. As soon as you open your Seller Central, you will know that your account has gone into verification. And when it goes into verification, Amazon requires some documents from you for verification, for your identity proof. So, if you are an individual, it will ask you, 'Brother, give me your utility bill. Give me your ID card again or your passport.' So, you will send it those things by scanning them. Many Pakistanis make a mistake. When they scan the ID card, they take a picture with their mobile and send it, and Amazon rejects it. So, what you have to do is, if you are sending an ID card, you have to scan its front side and back side separately and upload it. If you are sending a passport, then first you have to scan the book of the passport, like if this is a passport and this book is open, then first you have to scan this, then you have to turn one leaf forward and scan it, which is the signed part. So, you will upload these two images. Similarly, in utility bills, your electricity bills, such bills can work. Otherwise, if you have PTCL, then your PTCL bill is also useful. So, when you provide such things, your account will hopefully be easily verified. Many Pakistanis' accounts have started to be verified. Similarly, if it's a business, then you will provide the business details. You will provide the company registration number, those documents as proof. You will submit to Amazon whatever it asks for. Remember one thing, Amazon is very simple if you take it simply. We complicate it ourselves. For example, if Amazon tells you, 'Brother, send me a copy of your ID card.' We will immediately panic. We will take out our mobile, take a picture, and upload it, and Amazon will reject it because there is artificial intelligence, robots are installed there. So, you have to take care of this thing. Take your time to sign up your Amazon account. Now, after this, a new thing comes up. That is, 'Sir, we have signed up for an individual professional selling plan on Amazon and we have started our business. Our brand has started to grow. Now I want to shift it to a company.' So, you can switch from individual to business whenever you want. How? You will have to give a text interview. Don't be scared, this is not very dangerous. There is a button for a text interview. You have to go to account settings and give a text interview. It will ask you details about your company. So, you will keep telling it the details, everything. At the end, you will save it, and your account will switch from individual to business. But I recommend everyone not to start with business. Start as an individual. When you feel that your brand has started to run, then switch to business. The benefit of switching to business is that you can easily get brand registry. You get a trademark. But as per my knowledge, now many of my consultants in the US were talking, and they have started to give trademarks to individuals as well, which was a very surprising thing for me. So, if you have a trademark, you can get brand registry with the help of a trademark even while remaining an individual. What is brand registry?
