[0:14]Legend of the leprechaun for kids.

[0:22]Hi Ksmart kids, to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, today we will be learning of the legend of the leprechaun. In the 700s, old Irish tales say the first leprechaun was spotted. Legend says that a leprechaun is a type of fairy. They are only one to two feet tall. They are small and are as tall as a small child. Leprechauns come in all shapes and sizes. Some are round and some are slim. They are sometimes compared to gnomes. Leprechauns look like a bearded man who wears a green suit and green hat. Legend has it that leprechauns dance the Irish jig so much that they wear out their tiny shoes. Ouch. Leprechauns are shoemakers who spend all their time making and fixing shoes. Legend has it that when a leprechaun is near, you can hear the tapping of his hammer driving nails into shoes. No one knows where leprechauns live, but most likely in a secret enchanted forest. If you've ever seen a small door at the bottom of a tree trunk, it could be a magical door to an enchanted forest. Legend has it that every leprechaun has a pot of gold that they hide. If a leprechaun is caught, the leprechaun must give away his pot of gold.

[2:04]Because of this, leprechauns are quick and sneaky so they don't get caught. They can be gone in a blink of an eye. Legend has it, leprechauns are at the end of the rainbow with a pot of gold. Leprechauns carry one gold coin for every year they've been alive. The older the leprechaun, the more gold it has. Thanks for learning about the Legend of the Leprechaun, K-Smart kids. Good luck catching a leprechaun. Happy St. Patrick's Day from K-Smart. Thanks for watching, K-Smart kids. Please like our video and subscribe to see more.
