[0:00]When God puts big things in your heart, don't expect everyone to cheer you on. Don't expect all your friends, all your family to encourage you and tell you how great you are.
[0:11]That's when the Saul's will show up. People that cast negative seeds and try to get you to doubt and second guess yourself.
[0:19]Discredit you, make you feel small, like you don't measure up. Don't let those seeds take root. People don't determine your destiny. God does.
[0:30]When He called you, He didn't check with people. He didn't consult with your friends, your neighbors, your boss, your family or your enemies to decide if they think you can do it.
[0:41]Are you big enough, smart enough, talented enough? He put things in you that other people can't see.
[0:48]Don't get upset with them if they think you can't do it. You're just a boy, you don't come from the right family.
[0:56]They're looking at the outside. They're judging from a human point of view, but God has put things in you that will defy the odds.
[1:04]His favor will cause you to go places, you could never go on your own. They may think all you have is a slingshot.
[1:12]You don't have a chance. What they can't see is that slingshot with the blessing of God will bring down giants.
[1:19]Well, you're just a boy. Yes, but a boy with the favor of God can become the king of Israel.
[1:25]God wouldn't have allowed the giant if you weren't well able to defeat it. The giant is a sign that a new level is coming.
[1:35]But here's the key. Before that happens, King Saul will show up. The real test is not Goliath.
[1:42]The real test is Saul. The negative words, the doubt, the fear, the insecurity.
[1:49]Trying to get you to question yourself, question whether you really heard God, question if you really have what it takes. Dismiss the doubt.
[1:57]Refuse those negative seeds. You're at a defining moment. You're on the verge of stepping to a new level.
[2:05]The verge of seeing God do something you've never seen. How are you going to shrink back and let people's opinion talk you out of it?
[2:14]Let the fear of the doubt take root, or are you going to do like David? Dismiss it and move forward in faith into the awesome future God has in store.
[2:25]When my father passed in 1999, I'd only ministered one time and worked behind the scenes for 17 years.
[2:35]I never wanted to be up in front of people. I liked being in the background, but I knew that I was supposed to step up and pastor the church.
[2:42]And it didn't make sense to my mind. I didn't have the training, and I wasn't necessarily qualified, and I didn't have a big personality like my father.
[2:51]But I took that step of faith, and I started speaking on the weekends, and I was so nervous and so unsure of myself.
[3:00]I would finish one message and walk off the platform so relieved, and the next thought would come, what are you going to speak on next week?
[3:07]What if you have nothing to say? What if no one comes? What if people don't like you? What if the church goes down?
[3:16]The enemy loves to bring the what ifs. Have you noticed it's always the worst case scenario?
[3:22]What if that pain in your little toe is cancer? What if your company lays you off and you can't pay your bills?
[3:29]What if your child doesn't pass that class? These negative seeds that cause worry and anxiety when you can't really enjoy your life.
[3:38]Instead of letting them take root, why don't you turn the what ifs around and dwell on the best case scenarios?
[3:45]Dwell on something hopeful, something that builds your faith. What if no one comes? What if the church explodes?
[3:52]What if you never get well? What if you recover and feel better than ever? What if your child doesn't pass?
[3:58]What if he makes the honor roll? What if you never meet anyone? What if they show up this week?
[4:04]What if you get laid off? What if you get a promotion? What if you start your business? What if you step into abundance and favor that you've never seen?
[4:13]Quit letting the negative play in your mind. You choose which seeds get planted in your soil.
