[0:00]Hello, my name is Paul and welcome to my garage. Today I want to show you how to properly and safely jack up a Subaru so you can take the wheels off to rotate them, change them, fix a flat or do a brake job, whatever you need to do. I'm going to start with the front of the car and then go to the back of the car. And the most important thing you need to remember is safety first. Always use jack stands and never get under the car when it's just supported by a jack. Also, I'd like to ask you to subscribe to my channel. It doesn't cost anything and it really helps me out. So to start, you're going to want to make sure the car is on a flat level surface and you're going to put the transmission in park and you're going to engage the parking brake. Also, you're going to want to get some wheel chocks and put them behind the rear wheels so the car can't roll backwards when you jack up the front. So now we're going to start by removing the cover from underneath the front of the car so we can access the front jacking point. There are nine clips that hold this cover on. You're going to need a flat blade screwdriver to remove the center of the clip and then pry the clip out. You're going to do that for all nine clips. Now that you've got all the clips out, you can go ahead and remove the cover.

[1:36]The front jacking point is this subframe right here, where the lower control arms attach to. So you're going to take your floor jack and you're going to place it right underneath the subframe and you're going to jack the car up just high enough so that you can get your jack stands underneath the pinch welds. I like to use a hockey puck on top of the jack stand so it doesn't mar or damage the pinch weld on the car. Now you're going to put your jack stands under the pinch welds on both sides of the car and you're going to lower the car onto the jack stands. So you're going to want to make sure that the jack stands are secure and then you can go ahead and remove the floor jack. Now that the front of the car is securely supported by the jack stands, we can go ahead and move to the back of the car. You're going to want to get your wheel chocks and put them in front of the front wheels so the car can't roll forward when you jack up the back. Now we're at the back of the car and the rear jacking point is the rear differential right here. So you're going to take your floor jack and you're going to place it underneath the rear differential and you're going to jack the car up just high enough so that you can get your jack stands underneath the pinch welds. Again, I'm using a hockey puck on top of the jack stand so it doesn't mar or damage the pinch weld on the car. Now you're going to put your jack stands underneath the pinch welds on both sides of the car and then you're going to lower the car onto the jack stands. So you're going to want to make sure that the jack stands are secure and then you can go ahead and remove the floor jack. Now all four wheels are off the ground and you can do whatever you need to do. And when you're done, you're going to reverse the process. You're going to put the floor jack back underneath the rear differential, jack the car up, remove the jack stands, and then slowly lower the car. Then you're going to go to the front, put the floor jack underneath the front subframe, jack the car up, remove the jack stands, and then slowly lower the car. Then you can go ahead and remove your wheel chocks from the front and the back. And that's how you properly and safely jack up a Subaru. I hope this video helps you out. If it does, please give it a thumbs up and please subscribe to my channel. And thanks for watching.
