[0:00]What if I told you that there are some universities in Germany that you can apply to with nothing to lose? I mean, very low risk, meaning you don't have to pay application fees, the time for the application is pretty short and you're not required to provide the IELTS or any kind of English language certification or test result. I know, right? Yes, it is 100% possible. And in this video, I'm going to be sharing everything you need to know. I'm going to share the universities, I'll share their application period. I would even take you through the portal, that is the application portal for each university to show you what it looks like, so you have an idea on how to apply. I know that sometimes the German university application process can be a bit complicated for first-timers. But if you are a first-timer, or you've even had a little bit of experience applying before, this video is going to make it so much easier for you going forward, all right? There's definitely something you can pick here, one or two things that can make the process for you so much easier. One very useful tip that I'd like to share is when applying to universities and when applying for specific programs, what can improve your chances of getting in is making sure that you actually apply to programs that have no admission restriction. Now, let me explain. When you see no admission restriction on a program, it means that they don't have a limit to the number of students they can take in for that program. And this technically means that everyone who applies that meets the criteria would get in. By meet the criteria, I mean if they ask you to provide at least a two one and you provide a two one, you're most likely going to get in, all right? Or if they've asked you for a two two at least, and you apply with a two two and everything else they ask for, you're most likely going to get in. Now, here's why this is important. When there's admission restriction on a particular program, it means that there's a chance you still may not be accepted even though you meet the criteria. This means that the university has a specific quota for that program in that admission year or admission round. So take for example, it states that they are only going to take in 50 students, and say 60 students apply with very strong grades.

[2:11]They would only pick 50 people, and even if everyone has say the same grade, say first class or two one, they'll look for the best 50 people amongst those 60 people that applied, even if they all have the same grades. It could be that maybe one has IELTS, even though IELTS was never, you know, required in the first place, or it could be that one has a stronger, um, alignment with the program. Or it could be that maybe you're closer, someone is in Germany and that one is abroad. You know, all of these little things would definitely count when they want to filter out the top 50 that they would pick. If there's an admission restriction, except you are exceptionally brilliant and your application is very solid, there's still a chance you would not be accepted into that program, not because you're not good enough, but because there is a quota they must not exceed. Without further ado, let's get right into it. Now, in no particular order, we are going to start with the University of Duisburg-Essen. This is located in the state of NRW. NRW is the North Rhine-Westphalia, one of the biggest states for students in, in Germany. All right, so when you get to this site, all you simply need to do is navigate to studies and teaching. When you click on it, you can either check to see study programs by clicking on study program button here, or you can click on application once you've decided on what you want. So, um, I will click on study programs so we can see. This university is actually the best if you want to skip a lot of exams. They are open to the medium of instruction letter, especially if your previous degree was in English language. So right, you do not need to provide IELTS. And of course, VPD is not required, zero application fee. You can apply directly to the university. But it's important that when you're trying to select the program, you specifically look at the ones available for international students because that's how you know it in English, all right? That's how you know it's going to be taught in English. Unless specifically search for the Anglophone degree programs. All right, now this is what they have, so if you can see any program here that interest you, uh, yeah. This is an opportunity for you to get started, get your documents together, look at the requirements and see if you meet them. Majorly they have master's programs, I can't even see any bachelor's program. Now, when you want to apply, all you simply need to do is come back here, after of course, you've decided this is what you want to apply for, and you're sure you meet the criteria. Simply click on application. Um, yeah, also make sure that you change the language to English. My browser automatically translates German to English, but you can also do that by clicking on this icon here to change the language. All right, so when you do that, you scroll down. Then you need to click on applicant of non-European countries, all right, so you click here to see the application process. Okay, now, when you get here, you want to scroll all the way down to almost the bottom of the page, and then you click on registration or login. Now, this is the portal where you need to open an account, so first you need to create an account, all right? Um, you have decided to study at the UDE and would like to apply. This is where you click and then you open an account. All right, moving on. We're going to be going to the next on the list, which is the Frederick Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. One of the most prestigious universities in Bavaria. Yeah, this is located in the state of Bavaria, somewhere between Erlangen and Nuremberg, which is where the name was derived. So when you come to this site, you simply want to click on study here. You can see that they have over 200 degree programs to choose from, and out of that number, 35 are taught in English. So when you scroll down, you click on degree programs. All degree programs at a glance to see, but if you want to specifically search for masters or bachelors, then you can just click on either of these buttons, makes it easier for you. All right, but if you want to see all at a glance, I think that's better for us right now, we just click. And the good thing is you can select and filter based on your preference. For example, if you're looking for bachelors, you can decide to click on it. If you're looking for a specific discipline, maybe specific faculties, you can click on that as well. If you're looking for maybe or part-time, full-time, double degree, you can click on that. And as well as if it has restriction or no restriction, admission, you can also click on that. So once you've decided that this is what you want to study, you're going to then go right to applying, okay? All right, let's say we want to apply for, let me see, um. Let's select this one, to read more. Of course, you can always click here to see more about the program. And how the application process would go, or the requirements and everything else. So take your time to apply. Some of this programs are open twice a year. That is they have two intakes in a year, summer and winter, while some are only open for the winter. But bear in mind, majority of the universities in Germany are open for the winter. Summer intakes are very rare, but totally possible. All right, so if you are interested in this program, you click on apply now, and you just have to create an account. The process is very similar, very, very similar. Create an account and yeah, you go right into applying. It's not complicated at all, guys, you just need to be patient and take your time because German system for university applications are not very, um, familiar and they are not similar also to a lot of that of other universities in other countries. So you're going to need patience, trust me. Okay, now, moving on, Frederick Schiller University Jena. Same thing, simply come here, check the dashboard, the, uh, tabs here should show you studies, uh, then you click down, you should see study program, click on it, you know, find the program that you want. Make sure you filter by language, okay, here it says language of instruction. I'm going to select English so that I know everything I see is going to be taught in English. You can't just come online to their website and apply for any program without making sure that it's told in English, it's going to be a waste of time. So, make sure you filter by the language of instruction. Then you can now filter by maybe the type of degree. So let's say you want a bachelors, looks like they only have two programs in English for the bachelor level. So if you're interested in studying English or American studies, then this is your chance. And if you're looking at masters, then we'll select masters. You can study biochemistry, economics, evolution, ecology and systematics, mathematics, microbiology and so many more. All right, so when you click on it, it's pretty much the same process. You just need to open an account and that's it, all right? So click on the program and you would see how to proceed with your application. You would also see other information about semester fee or credits, load, number of semesters, the study intakes, you know, all of that, you can see on your screen. Okay, when you scroll down to us the end, then you should see how you can apply. All right, then we move on to the next, which is the Europa-Universität Flensburg. This is located in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, all right? This is far north of Germany, so if you're looking to explore the fjords in Denmark, or you want to go to, you know, the colder regions, I believe that the north is called the coldest region in Germany. Um, where you have Hamburg as well, then this is definitely something you should consider. It's a small city, but definitely good for a start. And the good thing with this university is their programs are mostly without admission restriction. So without talking too much, let's actually check what they have. You can click here, it says apply now for selected programs. You want to scroll down to see what they have. Uh, let's click on study programs here. Then we can see that you can filter by language of instruction. So let's select English, let's select masters, masters, masters, and bachelors. And then start of study, anyone is fine. So you can see now that these are the options available, so if you want to study bachelors of European cultures and society, this is an option for you. This one is not taught in English only, this is start in four languages, it's crazy. This one is start in German and English, and this one is start in English. Okay, looks like these are the major programs they offer purely in English language. The rest are a mix of both German and English. So if you're looking to study in this university, then you should be gunning for a bachelors, or of European culture and society, if that's the level you want. And if you are looking to pursue a higher degree, masters, you are precisely, then this is the one you should be gunning for. Then if you decided, all you simply need to do is come here and click on apply now, very simple. Open an account, same process, and you should be good to go. Okay, now the next on my list is the Technical University of Hamburg. This one, I would say, has majorly science and innovation-related programs. I haven't seen anything at social science related here. So what you do is come to the top tab here and click on studies and teaching. And then when you do that, you should see study program, click on that, and it should take you to the list of programs that they have. It says study programs offered by TU Hamburg. Okay, this is located in the city, the state of Hamburg. Hamburg is the only city state, meaning it's a city that's also a whole state. It's actually very big and it's very close to Flensburg, which is where the university we just looked at is located, okay? So if you're looking to study a masters or bachelors, you just need to select based on what you want, and you should be able to see there. But let's go back and then click on bachelors, for example. All information about the bachelors, okay, simply come here, same process, open an account. The school portal, if you want to select based on language, you can see that there are only specific programs available in English. So if you want to study engineering science with a major in advanced materials or chemical and bioprocess engineering, or data science, and so on, then you should come check them out here. But mind you, from my experience, TUHH is very, very picky. So, make sure that you prepare a very strong application before you apply. They usually go through a process where the university would go through your your documents first. And if they believe that you stand a chance, then they give you a code. That's the code you then used to apply, so you can't just go right to applying first. I'm not going to talk about that in detail in this video, maybe in another video, but just know that you can apply directly. First, you have to get a code from the school after they have reviewed your document, it's like the preliminary assessment stage, and once they feel like you're good to go, then they give you the code and you can now proceed to applying. And then we have the TU Darmstadt. I'm not going to go through this in detail, but yeah, I'm going to be leaving all the links in the description box for you guys. Take your time to check them out one after the other, then we have the Technical University of Augsburg. Should check this out and finally, we have University of Bremen. There would be one or two things to pick from some of these schools. Some of them require IELTS, some of them do not. As a matter of fact, most of them do not. You can apply directly to the university without paying application fees and they are all public universities and they are all tuition-free. So guys, I hope this was helpful. If you have any follow-up questions, feel free to leave them in the comment section down below, and I'll be more than excited to help you answer those questions to the best of my abilities.
