[0:00]What's up, guys? So, for today, in this video, we're leaving Bangkok, Thailand to go to The Philippines. The land of Manny Pacquiao, Ube, Halo-halo, and one of my all-time favorite comedians, Jo Koy. So let's go. Let's go.
[0:20]Thank you.
[0:29]We just got out of customs. It was so easy. I know. Like the process itself is pretty self-explanatory and then within like 30 minutes, we were out. And they're very polite, no issues. Loved it. So this is where you guys exit. And now we're going to go get an E SIM card over there. Hi. How long will you stay? Just um five days. You can choose ma'am, you have internet with calling. Too much. I just need a little bit of internet. 1,046 gig. Yeah, it's I think it's too much. So we did a price comparison and as far as the E SIM here in the Philippines, the cheapest one was 1,000 pesos. And that's good for 15 days. When Caroline looked online for T-Mobile, they wanted to charge us 35 USD. So obviously, it's way cheaper here. So we opted for the 1,000 pesos. For 15 days. And then the E SIM is located right outside the airport. It's called Globe. Kamu, kamu, Kamu po.
[1:36]Yeah. That's a little bit. Was it okay? Oh, Google. Yeah. He was practicing on the plane. Was that okay? Okay. Oh okay. See, you approved. Okay. Do you know where a grab is? Gate seven sir, get in sign. Gate seven. Oh, okay, okay. So that took a little bit. Yeah. That took at least like 20 minutes. Then maybe there's some sort of issue, but we finally got our E SIM. Yeah. Let's go to Grab station. Gate seven. Yeah, she's the Gate seven. Okay.
[2:27]Oh, here it is, guys. Hi. All right, guys. So we got cancelled three times in a row. Hopefully, this one's the grab. Maybe this one? I don't know. Oh, no. I don't know. Again. So you need to go there. Go straight. How many times before we get a ride? Maybe ten times. I think so.
[2:57]A19. A19. Thank you. So we got cancelled total eight times. But we finally picked it up. Yes. Go straight. This is A14. Oh. Oh. Okay. Thank you. Guys, so check this out. This is crazy. We are A19. And it has everything set up for you. There's a station for A14 and all the way down. I feel like this is super organized. Even though it's very chaotic with a lot of people, the fact that it's so organized, people can find you where you are, right? There you go, guys. A19. Hey. Hey. We finally made it to our hotel. Yes. Man, there's so much traffic here in the Philippines. Let's go check in. Hi. Checking in. So we're staying at Hotel 101 Ford. We just checked in and we got a room on the 25th floor. And the reception is here, oh my gosh, they're so nice. They told us a couple of places to check out, so we're going to make sure to check them out while we're in Manila.
[4:13]That's it. Okay. Oh, nice size TV. We got our microwave, sink. Mini fridge. They also have the robes and the slippers, which is always a plus. They have a single bed and they also have a queen-size bed. Oh, it's like a city view. Look at that. Here's the restroom. Okay. Guys, so we're all checked in. We're gonna turn in early today, so we'll see you tomorrow morning. We're here at Salcedo Weekend Market. We're starting the day here. Let's go. Let's go. No pets allowed inside the market. This place looks so popular.
[4:56]Good morning. I'm coming. Yeah. What are they selling here? That's soy milk. That's a soy dessert. You can try this. It's very traditional. Yeah, yeah. Okay. I always just get the soy milk. The best.
[5:35]Thank you. What size? A small one. Thank you. Hello. This is like a parfait. What size? Guys, I don't even know what this really is except fried tofu. Yeah. Whereas a bunch of sweetness and like popping pearl looking thing. Yeah, the locals said it's like a tofu pudding. I thought it would be sweeter, but it's not. Does it taste like Okay. Does it taste like Sundubu? It does have that texture. The tofu is like really, really soft. Sweetness level is probably only at about like 20, 30%. Kind of like popping pearl, but a little bit more chewier. I like it, especially early this morning. Okay, like comforting breakfast. Exactly. So unique. Mmm. It tastes like Sundubu, but like slightly sweet. I'm assuming they made their own tofu here. Yeah, yeah. Tastes very clean. I would definitely recommend it as a breakfast item. 8.5 out of ten. And we also got the soy milk. Cheers.
[6:55]Mmm. That's good. Yeah, it's really good. It's almost like a in a good way, like a watered-down cereal milk. Yeah, yeah. It's really good. Cereal milk. Yeah. Tastes so like clean and authentic. Doesn't taste processed whatsoever. I agree. Right? Yeah. This is good. It must be a popular place cuz a ton of people are waiting in line even after we got done. So the total for this was 100 pesos. So that's about dollar seventy USD.
[7:47]Oh, that's a lot of stuff. We also brought a bag just in case. We came outside of the park. Looks like there's more people here. Wow. Oh. These look so fresh.
[8:06]What kind of pizza is it? It's a special A1. It's a Mediterranean pesto beef, mushroom and spinach. Thank you. It's really good. Oh wow. So flavorful, very savory. Has all the components to make a really good pizza. Mmm. From the bread itself is really good. Is that like focaccia bread? Oh, it looks like it, huh? So nice and soft and pillowing. That's why there's a huge line, guys. Check it out. Look at all the people here. Wow. They must be grilling barbecue here because it is so smoky.
[8:54]Bunch of barbecue. It looks like skewers. Oh. Oh. They also have a lot of stuff. Oh, look at all that grill back there, guys. We do arrive to this section with all that smell, right? Good morning. What's the difference between this one and this one? Uh, the size only. Just the size. Okay. So they're both chicken. Ah, okay. Can I get this longganisa? Yes, longganisa. Can I get one? What size? Oh, you can park in here. Yes, this is the market. Oh, thanks for the tip. All right, guys. So we got our chicken skewer and longganisa. We paid total of 204 pesos. The gentleman who was passing by just gave me a tip. He said we need to negotiate because the other place is 20 pesos cheaper. Oh no. I know. I didn't know you could park in here, especially with food. Yeah. Well, you know what? It's okay. This looks really good. Yeah. I'd give it a go. It's nice and sweet. It's actually not really spicy at all. But this is really yummy. It has a tart flavor and smoky and sweetness.
[10:10]Oh, just regular ball of rice. We'll eat that together. I would rate this nine out of ten. The longganisa is really good. The spice level is probably at like a one or a two. I agree. It's barely like a little bit. Right? Yeah. I'm going to say nine point five out of ten. Now, we're going to try the pork.
[10:35]Oh, this is good. My God. They're both really good. That one also 9.5 out of ten. Yeah. You need to take some down with the rice. You got just a little bit more on the savory side. The savory and sweetness. Definitely get the right. Okay. What is this? This is sticky rice. Yes.
[11:03]What is this one? Coconut and bean sprout. And then what's this? Pork? Oh, just get one, one and one. One. Yeah. And one and one.
[11:21]What are you making? Empanada. Oh, empanada. Oh. Thank you. Salamat. Let's try this. I think they said it's pork.
[11:34]Literally like a Vietnamese egg roll. Oh, okay. It's like pork, carrots. It might have glass. I'm not sure. It's really thin. Oh, this is lumpia. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, this is good. Next is the chili. It's like jalapeno poppers. Oh. The heat is building. The cheese inside is really nice and rich. If you could handle spicy, I think you're going to like it.
[12:04]I love spicy. Prefer that. 9.2 out of ten. Now, let's try this. This is the first time I've ever seen this before. Yeah. She said it was like sweet honey rice. Sticky rice. Yeah. Like Mochi. And then outside it kind of tastes like batang. Oh, nice. Where it has like honey. A little bit of peanuts or something. I'm not quite sure, but this is really good. It reminds me of like a Korean snack. Mm. I give it a nine out of ten. I like it. Wow. This is good. Wow. This farmer's market is really packed. Like there's more and more people just coming and shopping, eating, buying so many things. It's insane. The dogs here in the Philippines, they're so playful. Oh my goodness. tacos. Do you want to try one? Sure. Here's our birria tacos. If you haven't had tacos in a really long time. Try the birria. It's definitely nothing like Mexican street tacos from the states. It's probably because of the tortilla. Totally different. But it is nice and crispy. Has a good savory flavor to it.
[13:25]And then this is like a Chipotle mayo sauce. Kind of goes well together. Eight out of ten. It's not bad. Let's put some calamansi in there. This is the sisig birria. Let's try it. You see the cheese on the bottom?
[13:47]Oh, nice. It's really good though. Definitely don't taste like regular birria that we're used to. But I like that fusion. Sisig birria. Food of thought. This one, 8.5 out of ten. Now, let's try the chicken. So this is how it looks like. This is the shredded chicken. It's pretty juicy. It's not bad, but I feel like I prefer the regular birria over the chicken. The flavor itself. They're all pretty solid. This one, 7.5 out of ten. Guys, that was the farmer's market. We spent almost 1,000 pesos. Would you say it's on the expensive side? I think for Philippine standard, maybe because I read on Google reviews saying that this place is actually higher and more expensive than other places. Oh, okay. I mean, overall for us, it wasn't too bad. A ton of people. If anyone is interested in coming to Salcedo Weekend Market, you have to get here early. We got here like what, 30 minutes past they open. Yeah. And it was already packed. Right now, it's even worse. Yeah. So this market is open from 7 to 2, only on Saturday. Make sure you guys don't come any other day. Off to the next spot. Oh. Hello.
[15:11]First impression. This is definitely a wet market. It doesn't serve just fish. They have like chicken, they have beef, they have pork, but they do have a lot of fish options.
[15:36]Oh, still alive. Yeah, yeah. We even have a veggie section here too. Okay. Got a little puppy here. Oh. Guys, and right off the back, there's the river right there. I wonder if they catch the fish over here and they bring it fresh to this market. Wow. A lot of chicken options. Hello. Oh, we got pork. More vegetables. This market is definitely pro local. I don't really see too many foreigners. We're getting a lot of looks. They're probably like, what are these foreigners doing here, right?
[17:31]There's so many people here. It's very lively. We're having a great time already. We just don't know what to get cuz there's so many options here. Pretty insane.
