[0:00]Roblox Tycoons. They are one of the most iconic staples of Roblox with games that have buttons to games where you can build anything to even the most complex tycoons out there. But where did this all start? How did we manage to get all the way to this point? Or this point? I don't know, there's so many tycoons now, but we are going to be going back in time all the way to 2008. And see what every year's tycoons look like. Now you may be wondering, what was the first tycoon ever? On this day, a new account by Uberber was created. After a little bit of time, he published his first creation, Bread Tycoon. It was a simple game where you start a factory and make bread and you can also press buttons to buy new upgrades. Okay, how do I play this? Wait, hold on. I want to go look outside for a second. Bro, this game sucks. There's nothing here. Okay, I bought a flour for $4. Okay, it's adding water to the flour. Oh, it made a bread and I got $42. That's actually a lot of money. This game started to actually get some visits, but what nobody knew however, was that this game was the start of a legacy and defined what tycoons were for years to come. One year later, a Roblox update broke his game, and in response, he decided to quit. Then a few years later, he came back and said, I'm done with Roblox a long time ago, so I guess this is just a quick pop-in to say goodbye to Roblox, seeing as how I never really did so. Then he got hacked and deleted. I'm very hungry. Okay, let's go back now. To the release of Lumber Tycoon, which would become one of the most iconic Roblox games to date. This game has stayed the so just in case you don't know how to play this game. You just started a plot and cut down trees and turn into planks and make money. That's the whole game and you can then build a bigger base and everything. But I don't know why you wouldn't know about this game. And let's go get some trees. I've done this tree cutting thing enough. Oh my God.
[2:22]And just like that, I got a couple hundred dollars. Uh oh, made a little mess. This game might have changed a little bit since its initial release, but the style of this game mostly remains intact. Lumber Tycoon 2 was also one of the first games to actually have gameplay and building and not just a bunch of buttons. This game looks great, but let's move a year ahead to 2010 where company tycoon was released. This was the sandbox tycoon, it was the first tycoon that you could like just place items however you want. But how do I, how do I do it? Select the dropper tool and click your tycoon while you're on top of the tycoon's brick. Who are you? Why are you walking around? Did you need something? How do I buy a tycoon? I did that. Stop walking away. Go to the place and click the become owner. I get it. I cannot place anything. Okay, so this game probably doesn't work anymore, but I bet this was a real crazy game back in 2010. In 2011, City Tycoon 2 was released. In this game, there are several different tycoons, and you can choose from different ones. For example, I chose a police station. Anybody else in here? Does anybody want to build like a hospital too or something? I think I remember this place looks familiar. All I have to do is just press the button and wait, and then press another button. Look how bad inflation has got. Before the prices were 250 Robux, now you have to pay a million Robux for $1. What the hell is this? What is this? This is not a police car, this is arts and crafts. How do I turn on the sirens? I hope that the city keeps going and prospering. But anyways, in 2012, Theme Park Tycoon 2 was released. Where was number one? Well, nobody really knows. And then I found this video and I think this is the original one. Very interesting. Anyways, back to number two. There's probably a lot of updating that they did, but it's still very good. I remember before the map was completely different, it was just like a straight line full of theme parks. So let me show you around my theme park. It is uh, we got like monkeys here and uh all kinds of rides, a horse. I remember playing this when I was like two years old. This game went on to have 10,000 active players and one billion visits. Here's the size of China's population. In 2013, two player Secret Hideout Tycoon was released. For some reason, this secret hideout looks very visible and not so secret. Okay, that guy's base. Get the sun out of the way. Go mind your own business. I'm just trying to, I'm just trying to play my game. You're always playing games. [5:36]What the hell is going on? A nice and simple two-player tycoon. In 2014, a similar game was created, but for one player, and instead, it's in a forest. This game literally looks like we went back a couple years. 200 Okay, $500. Oh, okay, this game is boring, I'm just going to press this and edit it. Let's take closer look at what is going on here. Guys, this is my finished tycoon I just built this now. Oh my God. What is that? I didn't know they added monsters in the game. Oh shit. I was getting a little carried away. Finally, however, in 2015, which was the same year I was created, Retail Tycoon came out. An iconic staple of Roblox tycoons. This was one of my favorite games at the time, and also one of the first ones I played. So we have our store here and everything. You can press this and build new stuff. Hello. Little do these people know that in five years they would create Retail Tycoon 2. Great quality and great game for the time. Jumping to 2016 came this developer Ultra, who would launch Pizza Factory Tycoon. 617 million people would later go on to make pizzas. So the map is definitely better than what we've seen so far, it feels pretty high quality for this year. We have the pizza makers all over here and this going to here for this guy to cook it. Can I have the cheese pizza please? Oh yeah, why not? Why, why did you come to the store anyways? Here you go. Five gems. Can I also have the cheese pizza? Oh, look at this. I hope you guys are enjoying your two cheese pizzas. Just one year later, the same guy, he made the original Restaurant Tycoon, which now has a number two and three. Okay, the UI is not as good as the newer games, but it's still a major step up, probably the best we've seen so far. Why is this guy like sitting here? We have the same IKEA. I remember this game. Look at these cars, definitely much better than that police car. These three games combined received 1.9 billion visits. 1.9 billion restaurant owners.
[8:12]In 2018, this cloudy guy made the first of his multi-game series. Itty Bitty Airport, Itty Bitty City, Itty Bitty Railway, and a bunch of other games, but this one was the first one. So basically, you just build a little Itty Bitty Airport. It's pretty cool UI. Let's place a sushi bar. Kind of simple map. Oh my God, it's like a big sausage. Hey, hey, hey, hey. It's a pretty cool game for its time, but now we're going to get to even newer games. He got some cool other games, but anyways, moving to 2019. We have this game, My Restaurant. I remember playing this game at release with 80,000 other players. It went down a bit, but it's still a cool game. Compared to the previous games, the map and everything is definitely much better. Even though it's starting to become like a little bit more, well, like one of those simulator feeling games. The UI is pretty cool in this game. What you do is you build a restaurant, but it's more like a simulator than the restaurant Tycoon, and those games. This looks, this map looks a lot similar to Simulator. We have a coffee machine, all this stuff costs Robux. Oh hell nah. Santa has entered my restaurant. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Don't get me wrong, it is a tycoon, but it's more of a simulator than a tycoon, if you know what I mean. This could be explained by who this game was made by, Mr. Big. He's the CEO of Mr. Big Pets, and Mr. Big Pets 99. All infamous simulators that have now drowned because everybody complained they were all pay to win because of this. He's gone now. By now, there was a whole sea of mass-produced tycoons. Remember five years ago I said Retail Tycoon came out. Well, now there is Retail Tycoon 2. This game was a major step up from Retail Tycoon 1. The map looked much better, the graphics were better, and generally building a store was even much better too. If you go to the selection of cars, you can see all the cars compared to all the other games, they look much better. So, uh, this is my store. I just played a little bit, it's nothing too fancy. Obviously, compared to the other tycoons, this is one of the more iconic tycoons now. It's also much better to build stuff now, because there's like this entire like flying camera and you can just place stuff easily like this. Even though this game is five years old, it feels nice and fresh to today. This is one of the games that when somebody thinks of a tycoon, they think of a game like this. In 2021, came the fruit juice tycoon, less about creative freedom now and more about fruits. This game takes on the old style of Roblox with these trees. Like all the buttons are all in one place on the side. Hey, that's the same robot from before. Get back here. Need something? Can you show me how to play? I'm not reading that. We've gone into such a new era that games are now getting inspired by the old era. This game is obviously included with the style that everything was made. Up until now, there were many games. In 2022, this would all change with a game called Industrialist. This is one of the most complex tycoons today, if not the most complex. There's so many things to be talked about here, that I would need to make a one-hour long video to just explain all the mechanics. It takes more than a day to just know how to play this game. So I'll show you around a little bit, I built this little factory before in a previous video. So this thing over here is a power plant, and it makes electricity, and then it goes in here and then it goes to power everything else. And you sell stuff to just make money. So basically, it's a game where you build and you manage all these ingredients, like tetraethyllead, and then you can use the research points to unlock better stuff like this large diesel engine. In terms of the quality of the game, this game feels like an original game, it's nothing too crazy on my eyes. There's robotic arms moving all by themselves. Look at this, there's inputs and outputs, so it's making water, it's pumping water. This game is very complex. Look at it, there's a whole graph. Have you seen that in the older games? No, you haven't. Moving to 2023, comes mini cities. Also a number two. In this game, you build a city. Now we're approaching that time where I think the visual style of the games are starting to plateau. It's like nothing too crazy. All these games are starting to feel nice and polished now. I need 10 concrete, make some concrete, I need to build a house. 15 years ago, or whenever this would have been possible, we went from a bread factory to being able to make a whole entire city from scratch. As we approach ever closer to 2025, we have two more games to explore. This guy is Florian 10. A couple years back, he made a game called My Prison. In it, you build a prison. But in 2024, he made a new game where you build a hospital. Alright guys, this is my hospital. I got some nice flags, I built this hospital. Look at this, you can build anywhere. Like all other tycoons that I picked. We got all these patients and they have all kinds of diseases that I need to fix. We've seen a whole bunch of crazy tycoons. There are many other tycoons on Roblox and everybody has a different definition of what a tycoon is. Some people criticize them for being a game with just a bunch of buttons, and others think a true tycoon doesn't have any buttons. This is why Roblox tycoons are unique. It's this style that uniquely belongs to Roblox. So our final game to play in the year of 2025, we meet the newest and best game yet. This has got to be one of the best tycoons. What the hell is going on? Why this game is the most violent? I hear gunshots. I don't know what happened, I think it loaded like my saved data. I don't, I don't remember playing this game though. I never played this game, why is it loading my saved data? I didn't stop with the gunshots. Why, what is this game?
