[0:00]Hey everyone, Sal here. In this video, I'll be talking about why I think Breach is such a good mechanic in the game overall at the moment.
[0:10]But especially for solo self-found in the background, you will see me running a map that uh my build doesn't have the easiest time handling. We kind of get through most of it, I think, but I was mostly running a test of uh rarity farming with Breach for uniques, et cetera. Um and my filter is definitely not ready for this map, so don't worry, I updated it right after this map. But there's going to be a lot of garbage on screen, but mostly just there to have some breach flavored background visuals, I suppose. So, why do I think Breach is so good at the moment? It's primarily because it's got a bit of everything going through essentially every stage of the game. Early game, it's absolutely amazing for gearing, either by getting basic AFix, you know, life resist type gear or five or six links early on. It's it out classes pretty much everything in my opinion, and even if you have a slower build, you can still engage with Breach because it's not exclusively the unstable, aka classic breaches anymore. We now have hives, um, and the fortresses that can sometimes appear instead of them as well, and those are great options for uh builds that maybe don't have as much clear speed. Um, they're also, uh, generally earlier on better hive blood and womb gifts. So if that's your focus early on, you might want to go with the hives to start anyways. And then later game you can start cranking up both the hive blood and the overall drops of things by running more unstable breaches, using scarabs and, you know, eight mod maps or Originator maps or both, et cetera, Maven chisels, the works, uh, and especially now with uh, Astralaves.
[2:16]That's an option for the super end game, you know, put everything into it kind of thing that you might do a couple of times in solo self-found. A lot of the trade league hype has been around the amount of raw currency you get. Been a lot of raw currency farming videos using Breach and Originator maps rolled for more currency drops. Um, and that definitely is a benefit to it in solo self-found as well. It's great for raw currency drops, but it's also decent for scarabs if you wanted to be, that's just kind of being overshadowed by strongboxes this league. And it's good for gold. Um, I'm testing a unique farm currently in this video. People have had a lot of success with that. Again, running Originator maps world for very high rarity and then having some rarity on your character. The mobs just drop a lot of stuff overall, and it almost feels like they forgot to nerf the drops as they've done to basically every other, uh, league enemy. So like, I don't know, nothing drops as much as Breach, essentially, for that reason. I would not expect that element to remain intact for next league. Um, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see this getting, you know, double, triple nerfed, the usual, uh, come the next league, but for now, it's here. And to dive in a little bit more into those individual points, start with the early game, I suppose. So they did remove the ability to create weapons and quivers with the Genesis tree this patch, but it's still incredibly strong for progression for SSF, by way of filling out your other gear slots. You know, any any piece of equipment you don't have to worry about is really nice. So even if you can't craft a weapon, you're still going to want to do Breach to craft your other items because it's so good for crafting those other items that you have more time and other resources to put into getting your weapon, whatever that might be. And if you either want to use long term or just start with a common unique weapon, well, it's still definitely an option to get it from Breach. So in this build I'm playing in the background, um, my weapon of choice for the whole character is all of the tall's Kiss Fell born version for war cry cool down recovery rate. And that is a Breach item specifically, so it's very easy to get from the Genesis tree. I think it took me two ancient womb gifts to get it, if not three, something like that. I was expecting a whole grind, um, with rate adjustments and other things, but a couple of tries in, I got it. I actually got two of them, if I recall correctly, um, and one of them wasn't fell born, that kind of rings a bell. But the point is, if you're after a certain unique for your build, weapon or otherwise, I should say, as long as it's common enough, Breach is probably the best way to get it. You know, the the more mid-range kind of um, uniques tier 5, 4, 3. Tier 2, it's probably still one of the best ways to get it, but it's not going to be easy necessarily because tier 2 uniques are just very rare overall. But again, if you're just starting out and you want to play a slammer with an all of the tall's or something, because it is a weapon that can carry you through the whole game, then you can go ahead and do that. And there are other similar items that are either your weapon or going to provide uh extensive utility throughout the entire game. That you should be able to pick up pretty easily using Breach, and as your uh progressing up in general, you'll most likely end up getting a five and or six linked body armor from the tree. And if you don't accidentally, you'll probably want to go out of your way to, unless you happen to randomly get one from something else, uh, just because it's still one of the easiest ways to get links in solo self-found. Um, it's only like a third as good as it was during Keepers League, but you're getting 50 50 Fusings per um body armor that rolls essentially. And you're getting multiple body armors on average per womb gift that just is really hard to beat. Um, now of course, then it's a fusing first kind of strategy, your body armor might not be that good. Um, or you might have to do other things to craft it, but certainly for your first six link, it's hard to beat Breach at the moment, in my opinion. And I already mentioned this a little bit, but uh, as you transition to the mid game, start focusing on some later game things, obviously Breach is uh, good for targeting uniques as well. Again, it might be more of a grind as you start to focus on some rare uniques or um, certainly they've done some kind of rate adjustments on things. Uh, I've been trying to get a fell born red dream for the increased life it would give me, and so far I've not gotten one. I've spent maybe a hundred thousand, uh, sorry, a few sets of 100,000, uh, hive blood so far and nothing. And based on similar accounts I've heard from people, uh, Hiry's body armor, the uh, bow damage one, I don't remember what it's called. Um, that's a tier 2 unique, and some people were saying, you know, they spent a million and a half Hive blood before they got it. So, yes, certain items are going to be a grind, however, they still got it from the tree faster than they would have gotten it from somewhere else. And for things like the red dream in particular, I don't know if it drops anywhere this patch, anywhere else, but sometimes the tree is either going to be your only option to get a unique, or the best option by far.
[9:55]So, yeah, that's how I've crafted, uh, several piece of my gear, actually. Um, my gloves and my boots on this character in particular, one of them has fractured tier one life, the boots do, and then the other ones have fractured attack speed. And I wanted the life fracture in particular, uh, because, or I wanted fractured boots in particular, because I wanted to Essence craft some shock avoidance on them. And so, um, instead of just waiting around for random pair boots or something, you target the mods you would like or would be okay with fracturing on the Genesis tree. You hope for a fracture, it did take me a decent bit to get a fracture that I found acceptable, but I was trying to craft a pair of boots that would last me a long time, if not the rest of the character. Uh, so I was a little bit pickier in that regard. If you're not as picky, you can certainly get a good fracture pretty early on, and especially if you like, I don't know, you're making your pair of boots early on for whatever reason, and for helmet or gloves or whatever, right? Boots might be a little more specific because you want movement speed there, but say you are splitting also gloves, and you get a decent fracture, like Chaos Rise or something, and you want to just throw an Essence at it and uh, then slap on a crafted mod. It's good for that purpose as well. You know, I I already need to go into the full detail explaining my fractured items are good, but suffice it to say, we'll end here by saying the tree in my opinion is the best source of um natural fractured modifiers. And save your fracturing orbs for things you can't get from the tree like Cluster jewels or something and things and mods that you can't get from the tree, like Essence mods and things of that nature. And lastly, as far as the tree goes, obviously you have mysterious womb gifts and lavish as well. And those are just, I suppose, nicer if you literally don't have anything else you want to spend your hive blood on. You can always just dump it into currency, stacked X, things like that, whatever you're getting from your mysterious and your lavish womb gifts. And uh, yeah, that's about it on the Genesis Tree front. Obviously, that is the bulk of the mechanic, and the uh, more complicated aspect of it, I would say. And then, again, I alluded to this earlier, but Breach is just in a really good spot for loot in general right now, good for juicing. Um, I've been farming some volatile valwarbs just to have on hand. Um, I've used a couple of them, or one of them, so far rather, but you can get those only from doing Beyond in Mirage, and Breach has excellent synergy with Beyond because the density of Breach is so insane.
[13:17]So, yeah, just everything added together, the enemies drop a lot of base loot, which can then be scaled up through Originator maps and things like that, eight mod, uh, eight mod maps, modifier effect scaling, etc., the usual stuff. And then astralaves just taking it even further beyond if you really want to or are capable of getting your build to a state where you can uh tackle some of those more difficult maps. And yeah, I guess that's pretty much all there is to say at this point, no need to make this run on longer than it already has. Just if you haven't tried Breach this league, would highly recommend it, and if you're playing solo self-found, or you're about to start your solo self-found run after playing trade for a bit, then I would highly recommend, uh, dedicating at least one of your three trees to running Breach. You know, try it out early if you want, and if it's not quite doing what you want it to, circle back a little later, because trust me, Breach is pretty amazing right now. And uh, yeah, I guess that's kind of fully expected after the how last league went, even in its currently nerfed state. But yeah, thanks for watching, and I guess I'll catch you next time. Peace.
