[0:31]Welcome again. Uh most of you I think were here for some of the classes today, but a few of you have uh just come in.
[0:41]Tonight we have a special event.
[0:46]Mr. K and Rao, who is one of the, one of our main astrology teachers, he was the, um, chief guest at our last symposium and one of the main teachers
[0:57]at the present, uh, symposium is going to do some mantras for us to help us inaugurate the symposium.
[1:10]In Vedic astrology, uh mantras are used for perpetuating the planets, but also just for generally bringing grace and blessings onto us.
[1:21]Very there are specific astrological mantras uh that are used, and these are also recommended for people to repeat or listen to to deal with different afflictions uh in their charts.
[1:36]Mr. Rao is a master of mantra, in fact, some of the melodies that he's devised for various stotras, which are various mantric verses have been recorded by some of the leading musicians and singers in India.
[1:53]The only unfortunate thing is that he doesn't have a voice that's entirely equivalent to his ability to connect with the melodies of the uh mantras.
[2:07]So this will give us a very uh unique and important blessing to start off our program.
[2:14]So it's a type what we say mantra puja or a mantric type uh ritual.
[2:20]So I will let Mr. Rao start. Thank you.
[2:27]Vasuudeva-vasutam devam kamasacanuramardanam Devaki parmanandam krsnam vande jagadgurm
[2:53]I am going to record here for all of you.
[3:00]Some of those mantras or stotras which I have tried for over 30 years as spiritual remedies after seeing the horoscopes.
[3:18]I am neither a singer nor do I have nor do I claim to have any musical talent.
[3:27]But I have always the courage to make tunes of the stotras I get, and somehow they begin to get popular and others begin to do it.
[3:44]In other words, when an untrained singer like me makes tunes, they become hits because people who have got lesser musical talent than what I possess get more confident that if a man like KN Rao without any musical sense can do it, why can't we do it?
[4:11]So with lot of confidence you can do. And I am going to do only those mantras which even if you do wrongly, there will be no side effect or a wrong effect.
[4:28]And I will tell you the scheme. I will do 12 times one mantra which is of Lord Lord Ganesha.
[4:37]Whenever you want to start any work, or whenever you have anything like an obstacle in your way, it is better to do this mantra. I will do it 12 times.
[4:49]Vakra-tunda-Mahaa-kaaya Soorya-koti sama-prabha Nir-virgh-nam Kurume deva Sarva-kaar-yeshu sarvadaa
[5:07]Oh God with a curved trunk, The large body whose aura is like a light of many suns, Please make my entire work obstacle-free, forever.
[8:28]Just wanted him to explain briefly who Ganesha is and what the verse meant. He asked me to do that.
[8:35]Ganesha as many of you may know is this deity that's given the head of an elephant, and he represents the power of wisdom, knowledge or what is called buddhi, the deeper intelligence.
[8:53]He also has the power of siddhi, which is the ability to achieve our goals and overcome obstacles.
[9:00]And he governs over the creative intelligence, the divine world, the divine word, and the ability to impart knowledge.
[9:12]And then in terms of the mantra, Vakratunda is the tusk of the elephant.
[9:18]Mahakaya, he has the great body. Suryakoti Samaprabha, he has the light of a million suns.
[9:31]May he uh make me free of obstacles. Sarvakaryesu Sarvada, at all times and in everything that I do.
[9:44]That is the meaning. So before you start any work, it's always good to do this Ganesh mantra which has been so beautifully explained by Dr. David Frawley.
[10:04]Ganesh mantra will help you to go deeper into astrology. Please remember, without the blessings of Ganesha, you cannot do astrology properly.
[10:19]Ganesha is the presiding deity for astrology, for mathematics, for accountancy, apart from being the remover of all obstacles.
[10:31]Next, I am going to recite 27 times a mantra which is very good for health, for eyesight, for heart problems, and of course for astrology.
[10:52]This is I worship Lord Sun. That's all it means. You are worshipping the sun who represents the solar system.
[13:25]Now, this Navagraha stuti has been very beautifully translated into English in Dr. David Frawley's book, Astrology of the Seers.
[13:38]You will rarely come across a book like that in which a spiritual insight into Vedic astrology has been given, perhaps unconsciously.
[13:54]The reason is Dr. David Frawley is a Vedic scholar, unlike me or unlike many other astrologers of India.
[14:04]So when we look into astrology, we look into it as a cosmic super science. When Dr. David Frawley looks into it, he looks into it as a cosmic Vedic super science.
[14:17]That difference is there. So I am just reciting it. Now this is my favorite prescription for any type of problem, the stotra I am reciting.
[14:33]This is Navagraha stuti means worship of nine planets, starting with the sun and ending with Ketu.
[14:45]Now in Vimshottari Dasha, you know you run the period of a major planet and the sub period of a minor planet. So when you do this stuti, it covers all the periods.
[18:20]Now, many of you who have been doing astrology for some years, know the importance of Muhurta or election, choosing a right moment to do something.
[18:38]It is not always possible to have a right choice because there are so many constraints in our day to day life.
[18:54]You are starting something and the best of the Muhurta is not available. What do you do?
[19:08]Worship Lord Shiva who is known as Nilakantha.
[19:15]In the Puranic story of the churning of the ocean, when poison came out of ocean, to save mankind and to save all creatures, Lord Shiva took that poison, swallowed it, but his Yogic power allowed it not to go below his neck.
[19:37]So the whole neck became blue, that is why Lord Shiva is known as Nilakantha.
[19:43]When you have any problem in marriage, what you call relationships, the simple mantra you can do is Om Namah Shivaya.
[19:55]I will do it five times, then go to a stotra by Ravana that after I finish it, Dr. David Frawley will request him to explain it to you, who was Ravana and what was that stotra.
[20:11]So I'll do Om Namah Shivaya five times, then go straight into the stotra. It's one of the most difficult stotras for pronouncing.
[28:28]Now I am going to do the last one, that is Mrityunjaya mantra.
[28:39]This I have tried on hundreds of people coming to consult me.
[28:47]If a patient is sick physically or mentally, do it with him or do it for him or do it for yourself.
[29:00]Normally you must do it 108 times. The astrological basis for doing this for 108 is you have 27 lunar mansions or constellations or Nakshatras.
[29:18]Each each Nakshatra is divided into four quarters, four parts. So 27 into 4 is 108, and in this 108, you cover the entire zodiac or the 12 houses.
[29:34]That is the reason why 108 is a sacred number. So I'll do it 108 times and with that we will finish.
