I saw this number and was ready to give up until I did some digging. This number is the sticker price, not the net price, which is what you actually pay after scholarships and financial aid. But that's when I discovered two types of aid, merit-based and need-based. And luckily, the schools that I was obsessing over had great need-based aid. Shout out MIT.
