[0:00]Welcome to whiteboard programming, where we simplify programming with easy to understand whiteboard videos. And today I'll be sharing with you what is SAP QM. So, in a nutshell, SAP quality management or SAP QM is a component of SAP ECC that helps businesses implement and run quality control processes. And it's designed to prevent defects, enable continuous process improvement and establish sustained quality control programs. SAP QM is used primarily in quality control processes that organization use on goods as they move through the product lifecycle, including inspecting goods as they come into facility or when they go to production and when they are shipped out as finished goods or products to respective customers. Now, SAP QM provides a lot of benefits for any company at various levels. For example, it helps with quality integration and procurement and production, and hence more control over process can be gained. Next, it offers planning support, that is usage of inspection plans at a thorough business level. Also monitoring your vendor and customer complaints by implementing corrective task in SAP QM can help you control the quality notifications and customer service. Last but not the least, automation of quality certificates which are printed during sales delivery to customers can be done with SAP QM. Now, SAP QM consists of tools for several interrelated activities that can be configured for organization specific process. Each of these tools consists of functions that are specific to that activity. And these tool include number one, quality planning or QM PT, which lets you set up and manage quality inspection plans that can define what goods are inspected, how the inspection takes place and the characteristics of the goods to be inspected, and the type of equipment being used to perform the inspection. Number two, quality inspection, that is QMIM, which allows you to determine if a product meets the defined quality requirement and to record the results of the inspection. This module uses inspection specifications that are defined in quality planning. Number three, quality certificates or QM CA, which allows you to certify that goods that have met defined quality requirements. Customers may have different specific criteria for the quality of their goods and can use quality certificates to take this into account. However, QMCA also generates general certificates that don't use such criteria. Number four, quality notification or QM QN, which lets you record problems that you encounter with goods received from a vendor or when the goods are in production or the ones being reported by customer. This module can be configured to record, process and manage positive information about the products as well as the complaints about the quality. Number five, quality control, which allows you to manage quality control process. For example, you can use inspection results to update quality levels, use control charts to control characteristic values and update vendor validation for procurement process. Number six, test equipment management, which allows you to manage information about the test equipment used in quality inspections. You can also maintain data for each piece of test equipment and make sure it is calibrated regularly. With that, I hope this video was helpful to you and served valued.
