Summer job interview – A2 English Listening Test

So, you are applying for the job of activity leader at our children's summer camps. Do you have any experience of working with children? Yes, I do. When I was at school, I volunteered with my local soccer club. I assisted at practice sessions and I was responsible for communicating the dates and times of matches to the children and their families. And I made sure the children were safe. Great. So, what problems did you have in your role as a volunteer? And how did you deal with these problems? One of the big problems was motivation. Sometimes children wanted to leave the club and when one child left, their friends wanted to leave too. I solved this problem in different ways. First, I made sure the children enjoyed the soccer sessions. I encouraged them and praised them for their progress. I told jokes and gave the kids attention. Because of me, some children decided not to quit. I was happy about that. Well done. Those are very useful skills. Now, at the camp, you will have to work long hours. Do you have experience with that? Yes, I do. In my summer holidays last year, I worked in a factory as a machine operator. I wanted to earn money, so I did a lot of overtime. It wasn't interesting work, but I didn't mind that. That's good to know. Now, as an activity leader, it's important to have a good relationship with your co-workers. Do you work well with other people? Yes, I enjoy working in a team. And I always get on with my co-workers. For example, at the factory, I helped my colleagues when they were busy, and I was always motivated and positive.
