[0:06]Hey Little Kitty, let's go, time to play some soccer. Kitty can't play. Kitty has tummy gas. Well, I understand it's important to take some rest when your body isn't supporting. But, it's also important to take needed measures and overcome hurdles, as Cristiano Ronaldo did. Tell me more! Sure. So in today's episode, let us get inspired by the story of Cristiano Ronaldo. Zoom in! On the morning of February 5th, 1985, a baby boy was born in Madeira, Portugal, and was named Cristiano Ronaldo Dos Santos Aveiro. But instead of celebrating, Cristiano's parents were unhappy about it, due to their poor living conditions and lack of resources for raising a fourth child. So poor Cristiano grew up in a humble background with such a tight financial state that he and his friends often visited the local burger shop to ask for the leftover food. But the vital aspect he and his friends shared was the love for football, as they spent most of their time playing this spirited game on the streets of their town with a ball made of rags. Then at the age of 8, Cristiano's life took a better curve when seeing his passion for the game. His father decided to take him to the club Andorinha, where he worked as a kit man, the person in charge of the equipment in a sports team. Though people doubted Cristiano's future in the sport due to his skinny physique, he used that doubt as fuel and kept working hard on the field and even sneaked into the gym. And at the time he was 10, he was considered the best of his entire island and was on the path to stardom. He spent a few more years playing for other clubs and at the age of 14, Ronaldo made a big decision to drop out of school and pursue football as his lifetime career. But unfortunately, his life took a tragic turn when a year later, he was diagnosed with Racing Heart Syndrome, a condition in which an extra electrical pathway in the heart causes a rapid heartbeat. Considering the risk involved, the doctors asked him to either get heart surgery with a low chance of success or stop playing football forever, the only safe solution they knew. But, what they didn't know was that Cristiano Ronaldo is a true warrior, as the kid chose to get surgery done. Fortunately, the surgery was successful, and the teenage sports star was back on the field as he started practicing day and night, even after everybody left to take some rest. The hard work began to show its results, and Ronaldo became a glorious player who would outperform everyone. Then, as soon as he turned 16, he became eligible to play professionally, and coach Laszlo Boloni didn't miss the opportunity and drove his career further into the Portuguese league. Then on 6th August 2003, destiny bestowed a great opportunity for this rising star, when he played a friendly match with Manchester United and showcased his amazing techniques and tactics. The MAN U players were so impressed by his game that they asked Sir Alex to sign Ronaldo. And a few days later, Ronaldo became the first Portuguese player to play for Manchester United and the most expensive teenager signed in history. TRIVIA TIME! Did you know Cristiano Ronaldo's legs were insured for a whopping $144 million? But, this is not the most expensive body part insurance in soccer, as Lionel Messi's left foot is insured at $900 million. And if you are wondering what's insurance, please check out our video on the same topic featuring another sporting legend, cricketer Virat Kohli. SKETCHING TIME! Today's Sketch of the day goes to, Zaira. Hope you had fun today. Until next time, it's me, Dr. Binocs, zooming out.
