[0:02]What's up chit heads? Welcome back to the channel. Today we're going to be reviewing this absolutely adorable little mini bike from Cy Rusher. This one's called the Lynx. It boasts 3,000 watts of peak power, 48 volt, 21 amp hour battery. Weighs at only 123 pounds. Currently this bike is listed at 11.99 and today we're going to test it out and answer that age old question.
[0:29]Here it is, the Cy Rusher links and boy is it cute or what? I'm not sure how these companies have been doing it but the mini bike market is very competitive and you get a lot for your money and this bike is no exception. At only 11.99, this bike sports a 1500 watt mid-drive motor with 3,000 watts peak power. They also have the rating of 200 Newton meters of torque on this motor. 48 volt 21 amp hour battery, which is a 1008 watt hours of capacity. We have a 420 chain. Now this is pretty nice because I've seen mini bikes that cost twice as much as this that don't even have a 420 chain. In the rear it says of a nitrogen shock, which is non-adjustable. In the front we have a hydraulic fork with a 40 mm stanchions and 6 inches of travel. Standard tire sizes for mini bikes, which is 14-inch tire in the front and 12-inch in the back. And the front tire is two and a half inches and the rear is a 3-inch tire. This is a Cy Rusher makes this bike, but it does come branded Go Do It. And you see right here, it says links. There's a through axle design on the front tire. These brakes are not branded, but they they call them heavy duty brakes and well, they do look pretty heavy duty and look at these rotors. These are very thick rotors. These wheels also look very robust as well, they're very thick spokes. When I say mini bike, I don't, I'm not lying, this bike is small. It has a 70 mm or centimeter seat height. I I speak Imperial system, so I don't really exactly know how big that is. It weighs only 123 pounds. It has a weight capacity of 265 pounds and for reference, this is what I look like at 6'2 and 230 pounds on the Cy Rusher links. I can definitely tell I'm on the heavier side, especially for the rear shock. Isn't this thing adorable? There's a front to give you a view of the 48 volt 60 amp controller. The frame is made out of carbon steel. We have steel pegs, they're folding. Little mud flap in the rear. Definitely an off-road tread on the tires. I've written a lot of Emotos at this point and this seat is probably one of the cushiest ones I've encountered. Here's the charge port where you can charge this bike with the included 48 volt 3 amp charger. 21 amp hour battery, which means you can charge this from zero to full in just about 7 hours. You twist the knob here in the back, which will allow you to remove the seat. And here you have access to your 48 volt 21 amp hour battery. As well if you want to horse around with any plugs or anything under here, you can do it all from here. The build quality at a glance seems pretty decent, not bad. To replace the seat, simply do the reverse of removal. Over here to the cockpit of the links, we have our rubber grips, full twist throttle, our hydraulic disc brake handles. And on the top here it does indicate that this is DOT fluid and our black and white display. No tricks, you just turn the power switch and that turns on the bike. There's three power levels on here, to toggle between those you tap the button. There's level one, two, and three, but more about that when we get going. Cy Rusher claims this bike has a top speed of 37 miles an hour, but we'll test that out as well. We have a headlight switch. Tap the button, it'll turn on the headlight. Once is yellow, once is white. Tap it again, it's yellow. Blinking modes if you want to have a seizure while you're riding. We have just yellow again and back to white. It's nice that this bike even has a light at all, because a lot of bikes even more expensive than this don't come with lights. This bike also has a reverse mode. To utilize reverse, you just tap the button once and then now the throttle will be in reverse. To go back to forward, tap it again. We are now back in forward operation. All right guys, now we've gone over all the specs and features of this adorable little bike. Let's go to the fun pike and take it for a test ride. Come on, let's go. And we are off. Now I'm in power mode one here and it looks like it's topping us off right at 14 miles an hour. Nice, smooth, comfortable ride. Tap the button once again. Now we're in power mode two.
[4:19]Oh yeah. More power's coming in but this is not going to like blow you away with power. This isn't a speed demon, this is a quick bike but it's nothing scary. And power mode two, looks like it go up to like 22 miles an hour. Let's go to the three. Oh yeah. I can tell you the suspension's non-adjustable. I can tell we're going over these bumps but it's not bad. I've ridden quite a few different bikes now. And the suspension on this one is not bad at all. I can tell we're going over these bumps but whoa. Almost ran into those geese. I can tell we're going over these bumps but it's not like rattling my bones apart. So not bad and for reference I weigh 230 pounds. This bike says it has a weight capacity of 265, so I'm definitely near the high end of that weight capacity. One thing I do notice with these smaller 14 12 tires is these bikes will definitely feel squirmier. The bigger tires will just roll over obstacles, the smaller ones will kind of just, you'll feel the bike moving back and forth as you go around. Especially in loose terrain. As far as my initial impressions of this bike, I can tell this is going to be a very approachable, easy bike to ride. I think this is going to be a great option for a new rider or a kid, somebody who's like first experienced riding electric motorcycles. Now they claim this can get a range of like 45 miles. Uh I don't really think so. 21 amp hour battery, 1000 watt hours of capacity. And this thing puts out about 3,000 watts. I mean, it's really going to depend on how you ride. If you're really getting into the power, you're going to be able to burn through the capacity really quick. I wouldn't get this bike thinking it's going to be a long range E-bike. Let's give this thing a top speed run here. 20 27 30 31. Looks like with me being on the heavier end of riders, I'm only getting about 30 miles an hour on here. Results will definitely vary depending on your body weight. They claim a top speed to be 35. So, this throttle is a very nice linear pull to it. A lot of E-bikes I test, the throttle will be on or off. Not so with this bike. Definitely gives you smooth, predictable power. This is a cool looking little bike, isn't it? Every time I walk up to it, I'm impressed. This is just a neat looking little bike. Let's try a staircase here. Not bad. Small talk it's time we take this bad boy to the planks of do.
[7:00]The walls of thorn bushes look extra high when you're from this perspective. Oh man, the danger makes me feel alive.
[7:16]All right, we made it back on the solid ground. The Lynx, very impressive job on the planks of Do. The smaller footprint, you can just zip this thing around. Since this bike is so maneuverable, let's see how it does on the any arc Lombard, as I call it, or the zigzags. I mean, make up your name. Oh yeah. This thing does really well on sharp corners.
[7:47]Couldn't even put my foot down yet. And we made it. What I like about these mini bikes, check this out.
[7:59]How convenient is that? Trying to avoid riding on the street a whole lot today, so back onto the bike paths. Going up this hill, pretty steep hill and mode two, it makes it up. Little loop-de-loop here.
[8:18]Now I am definitely on the heavy side of the suspension. Pretty sure the rear shock bottomed out, but you know what, we got it done. Pretty cool. Yock star. I'm a Yock star. Colloquially, Antioch is known as the Yock and the correct spelling is Y O C. If I hear anyone say Y O C H, the Yoch, I immediately assume they're cops. If you get a little bit of a running start, you can just go right up these hills. Check this out a little bit of Antioch factor fiction. The novel It by Stephen King was inspired by this sewage drainage channel here. Guys, you're just going to have to take my word for that. Please don't fact check me. Whoa. If you do simple math on the battery, this thing puts out 3,000 watts. The battery is 1,008 watt hours. Meaning if you use full throttle, technically, you'd run through this battery in one third of an hour or 20 minutes. So, your range is going to greatly depend on how much you're into this throttle. I ride my bikes through here fairly frequently and it's funny because I I feel so much lower to the ground on this bike than I do on other bikes. It's going to make this bike a lot better option for shorter riders. And these mini bikes I review, the vast majority of these bikes are not good for short riders. I have no doubt you could put a rider on this bike that's 5 ft, maybe 4'10 or so. Which is pretty refreshing because a lot of these E-bikes are very big. You have to be much more aware of the smaller tires. If you catch a rut, it's not going to want to roll through or over a rut with the small tire. So, you got to be much more aware of where you're pointing your tires with these uh smaller diameters. Time for everyone's absolute favorite part of the review, the brake test. 20 miles an hour.
[10:16]The brakes have no problem stopping the tires, but we are in asphalt and these tread patterns do not exactly grab the greatest on asphalt. These are going to be better for dirt. However, as mentioned earlier, these brakes do look heavy duty, really thick rotors, but it took quite a few times to bed them in before they started grabbing. But all in all, I felt like the brakes on this bike are going to be pretty good, especially if you're riding in dirt. So I'm definitely noticing now the reduced amount of power. And when I'm on the throttle, the voltage dip, I can see the final bar flashing at me. So, I don't think you're going to get a ton of range on this bike. Definitely depending on how you're riding, possibly 20 miles or so. It's going to depend on your body weight and other, other factors. Still getting up to about 30 miles an hour. It's taking its time to get there though. There you guys have it. It's the Cy Rusher links. Some things I really like about this bike, well, for starters, it's got the super comfortable seat. The suspension, however, is not adjustable, but it did a surprisingly good job of softening all the bumps out there in the trail. You have DOT brakes with nice thick rotors, the build quality on the frame is nice and you got these big thick wheels as well and a 420 chain. And you even have a headlight with multiple modes on it. Some things I'm not too fun of, well, today I wrote about 15 miles and I was already getting towards the end of the battery. So I don't think you're going to get a ton of range on this bike. So who's this bike for? I think this is going to be a great option for kids, or first-time riders, especially shorter riders. You're going to be able to get on this bike, it's very approachable, learn the basics of riding a bike and have a an absolute ton of fun. And you'll be able to take this, pack it in your truck, take this thing camping, very small footprint, so this bike is going to be very versatile and easy to transport.
