Alright, without any further delay, let's try to get right into the PTE respond to situation. Here we start. Respond to situation is not something new for PTE core. It's been there since almost last 2024 November, but for PTE Academic it was introduced precisely from August 7th, 2025. So what is the module about? They're going to give you a question, and after some time, just respond to the question. Soon I'll unveil what exactly it is and how you should be doing, but you're going to get two or three max questions in the exam. Whether you are sitting for PTE core or PTE Academic, doesn't matter, it is the same for both the exams, two or three questions, but usually two question comes. Now, let's understand with respect to PTE Academic marks distribution from Respond to situation, you end up getting 10 to 12 marks from two or three questions of Respond to situation towards your speaking alone. Meaning PTE Academic, only speaking this contributes 10 to 12 marks, but for PTE Core, the same 10 to 12 marks, or 8 to 10 marks depending on the number of questions you get, this contributes to both speaking and listening. PTE Academic, only speaking, PTE Core, speaking and listening. So how you're evaluated with respect to the Respond to situation, it is five for fluency, five for pronunciation, and for PTE Academic, it's six for content. Meaning content is a priority over the fluency, all this while it was the fluency that always won the race, but now it is the content which is surfacing. Content is winning the race over the fluency and pronunciation. This is with respect to PTE Academic. Let me again repeat, five for fluency, five for pronunciation, six for content. For PTE Core, it is five for fluency, five pronunciation and five for Appropriacy. Appropriacy is a tone that you use. Don't worry about it, just watch the full video, whatever the strategy that I talk about will be applicable for both PTE Academic and Core, don't worry too much about it. Before I explain you the actual strategy and the perfect sample responses, let's understand few things about Respond to situation. Respond to situation looks something like this, there would be a question, the audio will begin very shortly. Manager assigns you a report due by Friday, but you need more time due to additional research required. How would you professionally ask for an extension? And after this, 20 second preparation time will start. So it's beginning, probably in five seconds or six seconds, additional time. Once that is over, the audio starts, the audio to read out, sometimes the length of the text would be more than this, probably it may take 10 seconds, 12 seconds, 15 seconds, or something like this, some 8 to 10 seconds. So approximately after that beep sound, well, approximately in the beginning, before the audio begins, probably three, four seconds, and once the audio begins, some 10, 12 seconds, after that, 20 seconds. It's three to four seconds, 10 to 12 seconds, 20 seconds, approximately 35 to 36 seconds, you end up getting. On this be enough to address this? On this be enough to write three normal proper sentences? So it's all about the strategies understanding what it is, three key sentences, or three little lengthy sentences, you neatly write or at least speak multiple times. So that once you listen to the beep sound, you would be in a right state to talk about it confidently. And also observe this particular question. Your manager asks you a report due by Friday. That's the statement.
[4:33]And then you are brought into the statement by introducing the problem. The problem is that you need more time due to additional research required. They got you a statement, pulled your collar and got you into the problem, and now they put a mic and ask you how do you respond. How would you professionally ask for an extension? Usually there would be three key things asked in the question. Usually it goes like this. Introduce a particular statement, put you into the problem, and ask how do you respond, three things. And if you answer all these three things with three individual sentences, content is six of six. You fail to address any one part of it, then marks will go down accordingly, and very soon I will show you the best version and average version and how the marks differ. So basically the strategy is in the beginning some 30, 35 seconds that you get, skim the question as quickly as possible and start writing down three sentences, if you think you can. Otherwise not needed, you can just speak three sentences, three key things. Okay, this is what I'm going to speak for the first part, this is what I'm going to speak for second part, this is what I'm going to speak for third part. Three things, 30, 35 seconds, minutes, a huge window of time, and once a beep sound is heard, these three things fit into a template and just finish it off. Remember templates, when I say it's structure, you cannot use generic templates, templates that cover most of the things, 100% score will be zero. I'm telling you templates are banned. But instead what you can use is structure if you really want something like this. Hi, let's say a manager. Firstly, it is quite evident that ____. Then, it seems that ____. Therefore, I would request you to ____. If you want, you can use it, otherwise you make your own structure. See, it's not just these that is giving you the scores. This is not the engine of the car. The engine of the car is yourself, you have to speak something on your own. Then what are these? This is like let's say your car is not getting started, someone pushing you from behind. It's just for the support, this is not the main pillar. So don't assume I used this template, so I got low scores. I used this template, so I got more scores. No. It is you at the end of the day who going to craft those scores. It depends on what you fill inside it. This can be changed to firstly, secondly, furthermore, or the way you want it. Correct? So whatever you're comfortable with, you can have a structure or without structure you speak. Soon I'll show you how to do that. So once you start speaking, address three parts of the prompts, parts of the question, and once done, click the next button and move on. 30 seconds, 25 to 30 seconds should be ideal. Less than 20 seconds, marks will go down. 30, 35 seconds is also fine. They'll give you a max of 40 seconds to speak. Now we will show in our website. But you need more time due to additional research required. But what to do? The lot of research is needed, so I think I need more time. This is the second sentence that I speak for the second question. How would you professionally ask for an extension? That part I don't speak. If I don't do it, what scores I would get? Let's check it out. Alright, I'll just restart this. make sure to speak only the first two part, last part I will not, let's see how much marks do I get. I said, I need some more time, but I did not elaborate more on it. So let's see how much marks do I get. It's 4.5 out of 6. Meaning if you don't address a particular part from six, the marks will go down. Now what we will do, I will try to speak back again, probably by addressing everything in detail, three sentences, let's see how much marks do I get. So now I've addressed it, definitely from 4.5, there has to be an increment in the score. Anything above 5.5 is a great score for a 90. It's 5.7 out of 6, this is a great score. Monotone is yes, yes, it should be monotone, it should not be too much of variation. Pitch is 156, 140 to 200, fluency is five, and that's what it is. Now we'll take up more questions, I'll show you how I prepare and how I speak so that what scores do I get, let's observe. Alright, let me take up a question that I have not done before. I think I've addressed it each and everything. Let's see how much marks do I get.
[11:08]It's fluency five, context 5.7 and pronunciation 4.9 or 5. Monotone is fine, fluency everything is correct. This is how you do it, it all boils down to what you're going to do in the beginning 30, 35 seconds. How effectively you make use of it. Three sentences, you just speak so that you would be in a better state to speak them back again once your turn comes to speak. Alright, let's take up something that I've never touched before, the metrics is zero, let's open this declining an invitation politely, let's start. Your friend invites you a birthday party. Hi Ram, I know you had invited me to the birthday party this weekend, but already made other plans. You've already made other plans. But I have already other plans made, which is my son's birthday. So I would politely request you to please understand this and know that I won't be able to make it to your birthday this time, but after a week I'll meet you. In that way I will say. Hi Ram, first of all, happy birthday to you. And I know that you have invited me to attend your birthday party this weekend. However, I have my son's birthday party on the same day, which is this weekend. So I would politely request you to please understand this that I will not be able to make it to your birthday party this weekend. However, after a week, we all shall meet meet outside and we will have a chit chat. I just spoke whatever I can comfortably. I think I've addressed each and everything. I hope you would allow me to help you out. Let me know. Okay, here I'm trying to offer the assistance. See, understanding the question is very crucial. Let's see if the marks go up or not. It's 5.7. So basically, you understand the question and try to respond. You can even speak as less as possible, but as long as you address the question, marks will go up. Hope you are getting it.
