[0:01]Planned obsolescence? It's gone too far. Mystery screws, too much glue, parts that are hard to find, too expensive, or non-replaceable. And there are even legal barriers. The system is rigged to stop us fixing our stuff. We need a universal right to repair for all consumers and repairers. Products should last longer and be repairable by design. Fixing a product with a simple fault shouldn't cost more than buying a new one. Spare parts and repair manuals should be accessible to everyone for the entire lifetime of a product. And when we win at the point of purchase, we'll see scores on whether a product can be repaired or not. And with that ability to choose longer-lasting products, we'll fix things.
